Hotel staff was incredible, from start to finish. Vibe was really great. Great room. Great view. Rooftop restaurant that we were really looking forward to try had a consistent 2hr wait. Great for them - but would have been nice to know in advance that guests wouldn't ever be able to try it. Don't send emails psyching us up about the restaurant leading up to our stay if we can't even go there. Breakfast bag sucked. Overnight oats is a sugar filled bar, the OJ is small carton of topicana and the sad apple would have been better off fed to a thoroughbred. Can't be a hip hotel if you're not going to offer hip food. Great staff and bartenders in the lobby. Would stay again if I found a good deal. read more

I''m a big yelper and I must say I'm horrible at checking in at the locations I go to. I've been here several times and I must say they've never failed me at allllllllllllll...The food, the drinks and the ambiance captivated me every single time. The staff is friendly and very helpful, the food is impeccable! I must throw that in there. I'd recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

The Hoxton - Hotels Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

First off very poor design whoever designed this dark and cold feeling place. You enter the hotel and have to trek down two flights of stairs???? When people arrive they want to quickly check in and go to their room not go on a trek up and down stairs with heavy luggage. This alone is enough not to come to this overpriced place. Too loud and noisy at night with many drunk people. Beds are uncomfortable. Not a fan of some guy checking in. read more

The Hoxton - Love the lighting - Hotels Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Entrance is on Wythe between 9th and 10th streets.  Upon entering, I received warm greetings from a hostess who proceeded to deftly direct me where to go.  To the right is the Hoxton's restaurant bar.  To the left are the modern yet cozy lobby and cafe, which get a ton of gorgeous natural sunlight.  Beyond those is a short corridor leading to the hotel's reception with elevators to bring hotel guests up to their rooms, which run about $400 per night.  At a opening Sunday movie night, on 09/16/2018, I attended a special collaboration between The Hoxton and Nitehawk Cinema of a showing of the movie "Withnail & I".  It all went down at The Hoxton's open air stepped amphitheater.  Custom cushions were thoughtfully laid out for our comfort.   The Hoxton generously provided freshly popped popcorn, cookies, and cocktails at this special event.  I didn't imbibe, but the popcorn was fantastic.  Those cookies though -- OUTSTANDING!  Kudos to Hoxton's amazing pastry chef, Celina, who crafts a stellar vegan breakfast cookie. It's chock full of oats, craisins, and nuts; sprinkled with a few chocolate chips and chia seeds; and spiced with a dash of cinnamon for a not-noxiously-sweet tasty morning treat.  For the movie, Celina crafted three special cookie flavors: peanut butter banana, adult Oreo, and macadamia cookie.  I didn't try these 3 but my mom did.  She loved all three varieties.  Her favorite was the adult Oreo, which she said had a hint of coffee that made it stellar.  So far, staff of The Hoxton is doing a superb job.  Service is great.  I can't wait to return to test out Klein's food and see what other magical baked goodies Celina has up her sleeve! Hip, haute, Hoxton! read more

I'm Giving it a 3 for convenience for a wedding that's it Staff not helpful overall horrible experience read more

I was in town for a wedding and was disappointed from checking in to leaving. Finding the lobby was impossible without assistance. A member of the wedding party directed us downstairs, where we saw a DJ spinning tunes. Is a DJ really necessary? The room is ridiculously small, one of the faucet handles for the sink came off in my hand, and the atmosphere was more "twee hipster" than necessary, even for Williamsburg. I'm also not a fan of a translucent bathroom door - when sharing a room, I'm not eager to see someone else on the toilet reflected in the mirror, but given the size of the room you really can't help it. The people at the desk during checkin and check out were nice, but nice people alone are not worth the price. If you want a relaxing room and a quiet atmosphere, stay somewhere else. The Hoxton is a nightclub pretending to be a hotel. read more

Let me start by saying I do not write reviews but this is such bad service that I could not be silent. I booked a last minute room because of an emergency and when I got to the front desk, the receptionist told me that she upgraded me to a better room and she is giving me a breakfast voucher for the morning time. When I got to the room it was slightly above average but again this was an emergency so I had no complaints about that. In the morning I asked to be pointed to the complimentary breakfast and they pointed me to the restaurant on the other side of the lobby. When I sat down, I asked the waiter what on the menu qualifies as complimentary and he told me, "write breakfast voucher on the receipt and it will be taken care of". Of course it wasn't taken care of and I was charged $65 for 2 eggs Benedicts and a coffee. I just called the front desk and the manager Marshall told me, "I hope that breakfast was good because it will not be refunded." Moral of the story, there are plenty of hotels on that same block for the same price with the same views/vibe. No need to go to this one. read more

My friend took me here for My birthday brunch and it was amazing. I loved it service was great. I'm going back for lunch and dinner.

I was looking for a modern yet reasonably priced hotel that was conveniently located - this definitely fit the bill! Yeah, the room was small, but the bed was SO COMFY (seriously, I slept so well) and the location was great. If I'm hanging out in my hotel, I'm most likely sleeping or lying on my bed, and if I'm not hanging out in my hotel, I want to easily walk to multiple neighborhoods. My needs were met on both counts - and their rooftop restaurant was a bonus win, with its delicious food and amazing views! read more

This hotel was a winner in every way! Not sure how people are saying otherwise. The only slight downside is that the rooms are small, but if you've been to New York then you know that just about any hotel room is going to be small. But seriously, this place was amazing. First of all, location is great. Right by the water in Brooklyn so you can walk down and get some great pictures of the NY skyline, plus our room even had a view of it! Also, it's only a 15 ish minute walk from the "downtown" part of Williamsburg where you can go for good food, cute shops, etc. Beyond that, the check in/check out times are really convenient. Check in is at 2pm and check out isn't until noon, which is practically unheard of in my hotel experience. We arrived to the city at 11am and they let us get our room early! So that was amazing. Also, this hotel is very "instagramable." It's beautiful to look at with cute murals outside, hipster rooms, a cute rooftop, a nice bar, everything! And the icing on the cake is, they deliver free (yummy) breakfast to your room and they have free water/milk in the mini fridge. Would highly recommend staying here if you're coming to Brooklyn! read more

This is a cute, centrally located hotel... but get ready to deal with some - things. When you walk in, prepare to be disoriented. You will be standing atop a large staircase that flows into a restaurant and lounge - with no check in desk in sight. Naturally, you will have to ask one of the agitated restaurant hostesses who will direct you to a desk that is quite nearly hidden in a back corner. Check in is fine at that point. The host is friendly and polite, but might fail to tell you where your room is until you ask. Oh, and they will charge your card $50 a day for incidentals, but you should get that back after three days. Once you are in the room, you realize you have to insert your room key to keep the lights on. But that's ok, because you just want a hot shower. You might have thought you were a somewhat intelligent person previously, but you never had to try to work this shower before either. And apparently, anytime someone flushes the toilet in this hotel, you will enjoy a nice burst of scalding water. At least you have a nice washcloth... oh wait! Go ahead and hang tomorrow's clothes on that freestanding rack over here. But there are 2 bottles of cold water and milk in the fridge - and you can make coffee using "coffee teabags" (those will taste as you would expect them to). Should you want some overnight oats "in a pot" and a banana delivered to you in the morning, that is an option. Hopefully, you sleep well without a top sheet on your bed. Pro tip: untuck the bottom sheet and fold it over yourself so that there is something between you and the comforter. That said, I appreciated the late check out option and the ease of making it possible. read more

I was sick and could only have the deviled eggs and the sorbet.... and wine. Don't judge, wine is nothing but fruit salad at it's most refined. But based on the experience of the service and the setting and especially the music, this place is amazing. It is worth it for a group or just a couple on a date. The setting is great for either. read more

The last few times I came here I got confused and thought it was the Williamsburg Hotel re-modeled. Nice layout and Dj playing house-y tracks at night, at least on weekends. Great screwdrivers. Classy and comfortable setup and would be good for parties. Coming back for sure! read more

I don't even want to go in there after they treated me in a rude manner just by looking at me a certain way. I don't have a suit present but I do own several. With that said, let's just say there's a criteria on whom is accepted in their establishment. I am a white male but I guess I don't follow their ill conceived notion of what I should wear. As I asked if they had 'day rooms', I was quickly assured that they have no vacancy. It's funny though cause their hotel windows appear a bit desolate. Honestly I knew that I would get treated like that beforehand, it's just that I was desperate for a shower. I wouldn't even go into their precious fantasy of a castle which is actually a spiritual nightmare to defecate. To the girl (cause you sure aren't a woman) at their front desk, I wish you nothing but all of reflections of what you are inside. I never wish anyone anything bad and that's fitting because there's nothing inside of you obviously. read more

In a few words: Not worth it and a complete waste of money. Attended a dinner in one of the glass houses outside in the middle of winter and would definitely not recommend anyone follow in my footsteps. For the amount of money we paid and the amount of alcohol (supposedly) flowing, we should have left full and pretty drunk. We were neither. We also should have been warm, and we lost certainly were not. For $75++ per person, each person should at least get to select their own entree OR there should be much larger portions served since this is family style. We had leftovers of our steak, but because a good amount of our medium steak was rare. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious, there just wasn't enough of it. It was pretty disappointing and there was no offer to replenish anything. Food was dropped once, then cleared. As for the drinks, I ordered five Tito's and sodas and I could still very easily (soberly...) walk out of the restaurant, up the steep ass hotel stairs and down the block to another bar. This normally wouldn't be possible. Unfortunately the drinks were very weak and insanely overpriced. Lastly, we were cold the entire night. The glass houses were cute and a great concept, but it stops there. Honestly, not as cold as we thought we would be, but still very noticeably cold. The motion activated heaters and the space heaters somewhat warmed the room, but we were never comfortable in the space. In addition to the temperature, due to the oversized furniture selected for the space, each time our server came in to take an order, drop/clear a drink or food we had to either stand up so he could pass or scoot out seats all the way in. Like I said, the food was yummy, but it kind of ends there. There wasn't much of a vibe in the rest of the hotel so we didn't linger much longer after dinner. The star on my rating is really only for our server, Will, for taking care of our large group and for his epic singing to the birthday girl. There really isn't anything that would draw me to go back and give the Hoxton another try unless they offered to comp my next visit. I would be hesitant to spend more money there unsure of portion size and the risk of weak pours. The $190 I spent was an absolute waste. For that amount of money I should have been full last night and hungover today. read more

So I have to admit, I've never been excited for a hotel opening before. But something is just different about this group. Normally when we travel we prefer an apartment, but when one is crashing a city for a night or two of mischief it makes more sense to stay in a centrally located hotel. Enter my experience with the Hoxton group circa Amsterdam. These guys run a hotel the way a hotel should be run, everything is tailored to their image. From the quality materials used to construct everything from the cafes to their beds and bathrooms, to the small leather clad satellite radio playing their tailored in-house station. Expect high-end materials and uniquely styled decor that subtlety reminds you of where you are. The Hoxton Williamsburg, newly opened, promises to be run along these same lines. Soft openings are always a way for a place to show off who they are, and the events they have been holding show us that these guys mean business. I honestly can't wait to spend a night or two in the same sort of quirky luxury they are sure to bring to the table. My hope for these guys is that they can survive the impending L train nightmare that is coming their way, but my guess is that they will do just fine considering their branding image and the neighborhood they are in. If you get a chance to check it out, you'll quickly realize that The Hotxon + Williamsburg are a match made in heaven. read more

Came here for an afternoon to work from home but not at home - it was perfect. Tons of sprawl space between couches and tables. Just the right amount of loud. Tons of natural light depending on where you sit. Coffee and tea selection was pretty expansive - definitely enough options if you're trying to camp out for the day. Can easily spend the day here and then some- awesome place to grab an after work drink as well. Love having a place nearby where I don't have to enter the hunger games to land a seat. This is my favorite hotel lobby in Williamsburg. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Left a bad taste in my mouth despite them attempting to redeem themselves on our final days there. Not a very friendly and welcoming place. Staff very stand-off ish. In room dining was unpleasant, too many times they got our simple orders wrong. For instance, you ask for a sparkling water with two glasses with ice and have to wait up to an hour and when it finally arrives it's flat water and you do not get any glasses OR ice and when you complain (nicely) you might as well be talking to wall. I had a staff member actually just completely go silent when I've made a complaint. No acknowledgement whatsoever and if you do get one not a very honest and concerning one. We had issues with the heater. When we first arrived, on a day that it felt like -1° out we set the temp to 80° and it stayed at 73° throughout the entire night. We complained about it and about an hour and so later we got a maintenance to come up and check it out only to just restart it and it do not a damn thing. Another frustrating thing about our stay was the water was insanely hot. I love showering at home with warm water, winters in The Valley are freezing but this water here is ridiculously hot. There's no adjusting to the temperature. Also there's a little trick to turning on the shower head, should've had someone explain it to guests upon arrival so I didn't almost boil myself. Water leaks out of your shower as well so when you are finished no matter how many towels you place outside your door to avoid a pool around the bathroom, boom, flood. Free breakfast tastes like grass. Perhaps my expectations were way too high for this Williamsburg Hoxton. I'm not a diva by any means, but this didn't feel like a 4.5 Hotel at all. Dont believe the hype. Photos are super deceiving. Location is convenient. That's all. read more

I stayed here recently on a Friday night while my son and future DIL stayed around the corner at the William Vale Hotel which I just wrote a review that I suggested for people not to stay there. I had only been at this hotel once before when my son rented one of the party rooms for his birthday which was a very pleasant evening, so I was looking forward to staying here. I am OCD about germs, so upon checking in, I wiped down every inch of my room with my own cleaners and rags and though rags won't show fingerprints that were left anywhere, I have to say that there was no dust nor dirt on all the rags I used to wipe everything down, so I would say this hotel does a pretty good job of cleaning. BUT, I will point out one area that was not cleaned which grossed me out. See the pictures attached to this review which is of URINE DRIPPING down the front of the toilet bowl. I would suggest housekeeping be more aware of stuff like this because who knows if this person that left this urine has the virus and then if I had touched the bowl for any reason (I would never do as such) where that urine is and urine holds the virus, I would be very sick right now. I also would suggest checking the sink drainage in the rooms, while brushing my teeth, the sink filled up and it took awhile to drain. I took pictures of that, but you really can't see the water level. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful. Elevator wait was minimal, quiet when I went to go to sleep, hot water plenty in the sink and shower, TV worked great, view was pleasant from the room although I am not a upper floor view person. Everyone at the front desk very pleasant. There was a young lady there on Saturday morning prior to my leaving that was a sweetheart. I would stay here again if the opportunity arose. read more

Super chic hotel. Love that they have a nice, healthy breakfast waiting outside your door when you get up. The atmosphere is great, music, drinks and people enjoying themselves in the lobby at all hours. Staff was very friendly, loved the décor, and the little small room was fine as well. The only reason I gave 3 instead of 5 stars is because the hotel rooms needed cleaning. There was someone's hair EVERYWHERE is our room! It wasn't just the first night (we stayed 3), it was every single night. Hair stuck on our socks, shoes, even around the bed. It was so gross. Yuck. read more

Cute room and some nice features, but I'm not sure if I would stay again. The trains are all messed up so we had to walk a mile from the nearest station (not ideal, but also not their fault). When I walked in at 3pm on a Saturday, there was a dj blasting music and it's not immediately clear when you enter where the check-in desk is (all you see is restaurant and lounge area). It was pretty overwhelming and disorienting. I didn't feel welcomed. When I finally found the check-in desk they were helpful, but seemed frazzled. The tv doesn't allow streaming from your phone, which was disappointing for a hotel of this scale. The speaker also wasn't Bluetooth, which would've been a nice touch. The "cozy" was great for a brief stay, but if you're here for longer I would upgrade the room size or stay elsewhere. read more

I had a really nice time at The Hoxton last night. I stopped in for drinks. For a Saturday night, I have to say that I was pretty happy to be somewhere that wasn't crowded. I didn't have to smell anyone else or even rub shoulders with them! It was easy to find seats at the bar. Between 10pm-11:30pm people were milling in and out so it made a nice scene. The bartenders were pretty diverse, the crowd a little less so, but still pretty easygoing either way. My friend and I were just leaving an event that was majority people in their early 20s so it was nice to be at a bar that had more of an early 30s vibe. The music was really good too. They were playing some pretty good dancehall hits and classics along with some solid r&b and pop hits. The bartender was a really good dancer, not to mention he was really nice when I ordered the wrong drink, he simply exchanged it for something more my speed without giving me any crap for it. The drinks are Williamsburg-priced as one should expect, but you get a nice experience from it all. read more

We checked out early, after one night, of a two night stay. The room was next to the elevator and you can hear the beeping of the elevator car all night whenever it goes past the floor. Room was never cleaned even though we called to ask for it to be done. We checked in to a hotel a block away for the second night. Staff didn't show any concern that we left early with no regard to comments about our stay. Don't believe the hype... it is a terribly run hotel with subpar rooms. read more

The cafe area is great very open and inviting. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The hotel itself leaves a bit to be desired. Review is for the 'Cosy' hotel room. The overall hotel is a great vibe but the rooms are just too small/poor functioning. The bed takes up almost the entire room and there's very little space to maneuver around. You will surely hit your head/bump into a few things throughout your stay. Paid nearly a thousand bucks for three nights of a Valentine's Day weekend at what I thought was going to be a luxe hotel retreat in Willyb. Instead, got lifelong PTSD on Valentine's Night from the sight of my partner's toilet ritual through the clear bathroom glass doors, which were directly in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror, impossible to avoid or escape in the minuscule 250 sq foot room in any way other than gouging out one's eyes or turning off all the lights. If you're looking for unlawful public indecency and emotional trauma for your new budding relationship, then this is the perfect perverted place for you. Icing on the cake was the sympathetic shrug from the checkout counter person, stating "welp, at least it was an intimate stay!" instead of offering a reimbursement of at least some of the money spent on this con. Seriously don't stay here till they put a damn curtain or frosting on the bathroom doors. read more

I had the pleasure of attending a private party at the Hoxton, split between the rooftop bar and "The Apartment" on the ground floor. The venue was stunningly beautiful (including a million dollar view of Manhattan on the roof), and the service was incredible! I specifically want to commend the exceptional service from Sarah P, who--upon learning my mother and I were allergic to gluten--found out which of the hors d'oeurves contained the allergen and informed us about every option as she presented it, then even brought out a few gluten-free equivalents of gluten-containing items for us. Because gluten is such a common ingredient in hors d'oeurves, I was afraid we'd go hungry, but Sarah P took excellent care of us and made sure we felt well-fed and included. Thank you! read more

Very expensive hotel $450-$500/nite with underwhelming service and shabby features. The room are TINY! The shower faucet handle fell off in my hands and they provide NO WASHCLOTHS! The front desk explained that this is their "environmental initiative" to save on washing and advised us to use the hand towels as wash cloths instead (LOL!). When we checked in, they offered us "complimentary" water and soda but it couldn't be picked up at the front desk but instead must be delivered via room service (with a obligatory $2-$5 tip to get your "free" water bottle). Nice Hotel, good bar area.. food is ok.. but priced high.. We had a hard time trying to find the front desk to check in, its in the basement really far from front door, also no one helping with luggage outside, and good luck using your phone, there is no reception and the Wifi doesnt work! rooms are TINY, like.. think of a tiny room and then it is 5 times smaller! probably ok if its just 1 person staying. We paid extra for the "roomier" room and it is still small, if you are in your room you literally have to be in bed because there is no room to stand, unless you are in the bathroom. Sheets for the crib and blanket for baby were stained, needles to say we didnt use them.. Service was not good, no one answered the phone when we called for room service (both nights!) and we had to go downstairs to get food ourselves, waitress at the lounge area was bad as well, took forever to get our orders and we had to remind her couple of times for silverware, sugar, etc.. there was one guy that was great and went out of his way to find pancakes for my nephew. That was great, thank you for that. We tried to go to the rooftop bar and were not allowed because it was "full", my husband was up there and texting me to come up because the bar was empty and there were also tables.. so not sure what that was about, they might try to make it seem like there is a wait to go up, but there is not and we were also staying at the hotel so should be allowed to use their bar! Our experience was just terrible! overall not worth the money AT ALL. I would NOT recommend this hotel, and will never stay here again. This is a great place to come sit and work or just people watch. It feels sexy but not in a way that it's trying really hard to be. It feels really cozy, I could honestly come here every single day when it's cold outside. I got the vegetarian burger, it was nothing to write home about but it hit the spot in the moment. The price was an out rages and the convenience was worth it because I wanted to keep sitting there. As a local (I live 5 minutes away) I sang the praises of this place, had my folks stay here for New Years (they live locally on LI) and we come here weekly since it's pup friendly. But today was a real letdown. I understand this place makes quality cocktails and take their time muddling, stirring, and having banter with their customers. However today, the woman bartender was chatting with 3 male customers for 25 minutes as I waited (she clicked around on the POS to look busy as she chatted) the other bartender was serving folks in his eye line, not those he saw get there first. Perhaps it's the 'Sunday night crew' but waiting for 30 minutes to get a drink at a NOT FULL bar is a shame. Especially for a local. I love bartenders being personal and taking pride in their job but today was lazy, uninspired and just rude. Also, a note from my folks who stayed here and whom we visited the rooms are TINY. Summerly upstairs however, lovely. read more
