The check in process was very easy. The staff were very friendly. We arrived well before check in time, and although we could not get into our room they were able to hold our bags for us. There is a busy restaurant and cafe in the main level too. The room itself was small but functional and very clean. There was a small shop if you needed to buy snacks, drinks, etc in the lobby as well. We didn't need to park but not sure if they offer any. Check out was also a breeze. Basically a youth hostel. Minimal service. Minimal amenities. Room just bigger than the bed and make sure to first coordinate with your partner when they intend to walk around it as there's barely enough space for two to stand. Room painted by blind painter. Furnishings (the few that exist) in the room are in various states of decay after being thoroughly used. Shower floods bathroom every time and shower handle comes off wall in your hand. Overall hotel decor and 'design' is a cliche wrapped in a pastiche and ironically not even executed well. Mid-afternoon, requested housekeeping to provide fresh towels and wanted to get out of her way so headed down to the lobby area which was completely occupied with people on their laptops. Checkout at front desk, no 'how was your stay?' Or even a 'thank you'. In conclusion, at least the two baristas in the lobby are surly. Oh. It's not a boutique hotel, rather under the umbrella of one of the largest hotel chains in the planet. read more

The Hoxton has very tiny rooms. They don't hide this, but the minimal space still shocks as you open the door. There are no drawers, and no closet, save for a little bar with roughly six hangars. I was there for five nights, so had actually thought I wouldn't be living out of my suitcase. However, if I took anything out, there would have been no place to put it. So, I found a place on the floor next to the bed where my smallish carry on suitcase could almost fit. Really inconvenient. I thought that possibly they would make up for the room with exemplary service. Over the course of five days the housekeeper neglected to replace dirty towels after taking the dirty ones (I had to go to the front desk), neglected to replenish coffee (I had to go to the front desk), didn't take away dirty coffee cups, and usually didn't clean the bathroom sink. I knew the sink wasn't clean when I returned in the afternoon to see the toothpaste residue still there from the morning. Lastly, the door never shut right. You had to practically slam it to get it to close all the way. I went to the front desk two separate days to alert them to this issue, but it was never completely rectified. read more

Our great experience started at the registration desk where Lilly checked us in, and she couldn't have been more charming and professional to interact with. Our 4th floor room had a great view of the Manhattan skyline. Yeah, the room was small and quite expensive (even with the wedding discount), but hey... This is NYC. We had a studio room with a fridge and a coffee maker. There were no dressers but there were drawers at the bed's footboard and a metal clothes rack for your hangers. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was great with excellent hot water and pressure. The WIFI and room temperature control worked flawlessly. The hotel's location was FANTASTIC. Right in the heart of Williamsburg within an easy walk of hundreds of destinations and the waterfront parks. One nice feature was the option of having a $5 breakfast delivered to your room -a container of overnight oats, an apple, and a small OJ. The meal was delivered in a small shopping bag and placed on a hook outside our door. The only glitch we encountered was a leaky weatherstrip seal on the bottom of the glass shower door. SOME KEY PRO TIPS * Finding the hotel can be problematic. There is no big exterior sign, just a teeny tiny itty bitty one that's easily overlooked. ** There is no doorman, bell service, or entrance parking, not even a scooped-out section of the sidewalk. We saw numerous cars double parked getting honked like crazy as hotel guests were dropped off in front. *** The entrance on Wyeth Street is one floor above the hotel lobby and restaurants, so you'll see a big staircase descending to where the action is. Everything about this boutique hotel was perfection...from the customer service at the front desk to the waitress & waiters at laser wolf restaurant to the actual accommodations. I cannot wait to come back and try one of the hoxtons in another city . Also, don't skip out on the coffee and bar downstairs! Highly unfortunate stay. 1. The overnight/attendant was extremely rude. I am a New Yorker. I know what's up. Don't give me attitude lady. 2. The Duane Reade-esque line at the coffee bar tested my patience. One person working, taking their sweet time. Instead of waiting, I walked a few feet over and asked the persons at the restaurant if I could order an espresso. The response: "No, this is the dining room." So a guest can't order coffee in the empty dining room? Give me a break. So, I went to The Wythe and enjoyed a fresh brew every morning from there on out, with exceptional, welcoming service. 3. There were three small white prescription pills under the bed, keeping company with the dust rabbits. An old milk carton taking up precious refrigerator real estate from a previous guest and something that belongs in a person's nose stuck on the bedside wall. 4. Outside the room, outside the elevators, a pile of trash. One day a greasy pizza box. The next, random, crumpled up discardments of the people's choice. 5. No laptops on the bar! Never, ever! It's not my problem public people are taking up space doing their computing. Put a sign up or something. I don't need to be chastised. 6. What is up with the "entrance" to the hotel. It's a joke trying to get your luggage through those nonsensical doors. Door persons would have been nice. Get it together Hoxton. From now on, it's The Wythe, all the wythe. read more

Cute little hotel in Williamsburg. The rooms are pretty small but it worked fine for me as I was traveling solo. The room was mostly clean but I did have a dead cricket in the room I had to clean up. The shower was also pretty frustrating to deal with as it leaks water out ALL over the full bathroom floor. Even with a towel in front of the shower door, it leaks through and then you're left with soaking wet towels all over the bathroom. The cafe area was super cute but halfway through eating my breakfast and working, they cranked up the music in the room making it impossible to focus or take any calls. During my visit to Brooklyn, I stayed at the Hoxton based on the glowing reviews and proximity to all the good restaurant/bars/etc. The pros: Great location - as someone who is very unfamiliar with the neighborhoods in Brooklyn (heck, NY in general), this neighborhood had practically everything you needed if you didn't want to explore at all haha. The lobby/bar area alone is a great spot to just people watch! Great views from the room. If you have an even room number, you get the great Manhattan skyline views. I had an odd room number and had views of.. well, Brooklyn and the construction going on in the building(s) behind the hotel lol. It wasn't bad, though! Nice accents and touches in the hotel room that made it feel like you were in a cute, minimalist apt. Also had a mini fridge, Bluetooth speaker, books, and nice selection of coffee and teas, too. The cons: The rooms are TINY. I read the reviews that pointed this out repeatedly but I still wasn't prepared for how tiny it was. My sister (who stayed with me) and I made it work and it was fine for us; but had it been my husband and son with me, I know my husband would've been unhappy. When my sister's BF came up to our room briefly to hang out, it made the room feel even smaller and downright claustrophobic. No Smart TV. Just basic cable... this wasn't that big of a deal but the more you know. Although there was shampoo/conditioner/body wash, there were no other hotel bathroom essentials (like lotion, shower cap, mouth wash, sewing kit). Kinda pricey? This is kind of relative... what's pricey to one might be a steal to another, I know. Obviously it's not Four Seasons hotel rates, and it is comparable to the other hotels in the neighborhood, but it is a tad bit high for it being such a small room. Would I recommend The Hoxton? Absolutely. The staff were all very pleasant, the bed was super comfy, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I will likely try out other hotels when I return but I don't regret choosing the Hoxton for my first time in (Williamsburg) Brooklyn. read more

The location, atmosphere and service were all impeccable. My friend and I did not have a room here but we did stop by in the hopes of goi g to the rooftop. The rooftop was closed for a wedding, and we went to grab a few seats at the bar. The wedding pre-cocktail hour was in the hotel so we stuck out but we still felt very welcomed. We ordered the spicy margarita, espresso martini and Margherita Pizza (not pictured) and all were fantastic and came up to $60 or 30/person without gratuity. I stayed here this past weekend and it was a fabulous stay. My room, albeit small, was cozy and felt upscale -- the bathroom especially was incredibly welcoming and had a modern feel. My TV might have had an issue with it as the signal kept cutting in and out, but I did happen to be staying during a remarkably windy weekend. The hotel lobby is super hip and lively. I highly recommend stopping but the coffee shop / pastry spot across from the bar as the coffee and pastries were delicious (I had an apple babka that I'm still dreaming about). My one minor gripe is I had a late checkout confirmed for the next day and housekeeping kept badgering me from the hallway. I definitely would stay here again because of how close it is to the nightlife and Manhattan if I wanna leave Brooklyn to see a show. read more

This is the third Hoxton location Nate and I have stayed at. We really enjoy the furnishings, design touches, focus on local art and artists, and typically great bar/restaurant options at each Hoxton hotel. This location was near many great spots in Williamsburg, including Domino Park, several shops, lots of food, and it was easy to get to the L train. Checking in was easy and the employees were really helpful and kind. When you enter the hotel, there are quite a few stairs you have to go down to get to the lobby area. I'm not sure if they have an accessible entrance anywhere. We had to sign a form agreeing to wear masks throughout the hotel which was nice. Our room was cozy but we're used to the smaller sized rooms from staying at other properties. Carry on suitcases fit in the drawers under the bed so you could make some room that way. I was happy to see that the bathroom light didn't automatically come on with no way of turning off the motion sensor, this is something I've complained about at other Hoxton properties we've stayed at. The shower legit confused me, since neither of the knobs were labeled that I could see, and it took some playing around to figure out the functions for getting the water to come out of the shower head vs the handheld sprayer. I love the Hoxton's provided toiletry items. There is a small coffee counter in the lobby and at least one bar at the hotel, but we didn't partake in them. The lounge area in the lobby is pretty large and has a nice fireplace with varied seating. It was almost always full of people whenever we walked by. I definitely would stay at this hotel again in the future. read more

This marks my second visit to this hotel and the experience suited my needs. However, a distinction has to be made between my needs versus what I see as untapped potential. To start, the hotel has several businesses located on the first floor so if you're shy about noise or high foot traffic this may be a bit jostling. After navigating through the maze of businesses on the ground floor, you'll be greeted by warm receptionists. The service was truly top-tier! The rooms are a bit cramped but they're well-appointed in having a desk and a few other goodies nestled about. During my visit, the only two setbacks were the lack of a vent in the bathroom and the design of the shower which allows water to seep all over the floor. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a quick stay that puts them close to the heart of Williamsburg(Kent Ave and Bedford Ave are a stone's throw away). read more

We used The Hoxton as a getting ready space for a friend's wedding. I simply adored the decor and little details of the place. If I could decorate my home like The Hoxton, I would. The views from the rooms were superb. In addition to the gorgeousness of the rooms, the lobby/bar area are a great hang out place with a similar vibe as the rooms. A nice touch was that each room had an included steamer. (So many places have irons but I find steamers so much more useful and such a pain to carry.) Location is lovely. It's a couple blocks from Buschwick Inlet Park, a subway stop, and TONS of great restaurants and bars. I simply can't give it 5 stars, though, because the rooms were incredibly small even for Brooklyn standards. Some friends stayed at Pod Brooklyn and said they felt like it was just as small. It's hard to enjoy the room (especially for the price) when you have no space to move about. Another ding is that the doors/walls for the bathroom are more see-through than you'd want it to be if you're looking for some privacy. read more

Briefly, this is a charming, hip property in a great location with a wonderful team. Be warned, though, the rooms are SMALL -- even by New York standards (even by MAHNATTAN standards...)...and the upshot is that, at least in my room, there was not adequate space to store a standard size rolling suitcase, nor was there a closet. Made for pretty tight quarters.... The lobby is full of life - the coffee bar and interesting space appears to be a hangout for guests and locals to meet and work. Great energy. Note that there is not an on property fitness center, although the hotel does have an arrangement with a perfectly serviceable fitness club about four blocks away. The restaurants were not open during my stay which was disappointing. That said, I COULD have checked ahead on both of these items. As a frequent traveler, I've come to believe that one of the best measures of a hotel is how they handle challenges. I had one during this stay (a request for additional pillows); was a little disappointed that it took three efforts (one in-person request and two calls); that said, the responses were always cheerful and friendly and the issue was ultimately resolved. So, come for the vibe and the great team and the great location...just don't bring a big bag or too many clothes else you'll have nowhere to store them and it may be tough to get around the room! read more

I'm bummed to have to give only 3 stars to such a beautiful property, but this truly was an overpriced, uncomfortable, inconvenient, and overall lackluster stay. My partner and I had other accommodations in BK fall through and we were willing to pay a luxury price tag at the Hoxton for a quality stay, but our experience fell very short of expectations. The room layout: the rooms are *very* small. Yes, this is typical to NY but these rooms are abnormally small. The bed takes up the entire room with very little walking space. There is no closet and there are no side table drawers or desk drawers. Because there is no storage, suitcases block the entire walking path; we had to climb over the bed to get from one side to the other. The bed: the mattress was fine, the linens were not. They use one fitted sheet and one very light duvet. We were freezing and uncomfortable! I requested additional sheets and blankets and was told they don't have any sheets or blankets. Someone did drop off two duvet covers while we were out (placed them on the bed, more on this later). The bathroom: as mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom is very small with no storage. The bigger issue is that no matter how careful you are when you shower, the shower floods the entire bathroom (see pic). Housekeeping: we found out by calling the front desk after we returned from a late birthday celebration that your room is not serviced unless you request it. So, we returned to a bed we needed to make (with the additional duvets) and no towels. We had used our towels to mop the floor due to the faulty shower. Then the next morning after not requesting any service (as it was our last day), housekeeping woke us up early by coming in our room. Missed communication all around. The amenities: there is very spotty cell service at this property (not their fault) but their wifi does not work hardly at all. This was highly inconvenient as we had work to do. The room phone also did not work (error messages when trying to dial the front desk), and the TV was hanging crooked off the wall and displayed "no signal" frequently. On the bright side, the staff is extremely friendly and was apologetic when we raised all of these concerns. They did offer to remove charges which was appreciated but we are still waiting for that adjustment to come through. Also, it's true that the lobby is spacious and well decorated, and the view from Laser Wolf (rooftop restaurant) is breathtaking. If you're looking for a sleek place to hang, grab a drink, or impress your friends with dinner with an amazing view, go for it. But I do not recommend an overnight stay. read more

I'm profoundly touched by the hospitality from the director of rooms, the managers and everyone at The Hoxton. Kofe was so seamless with helping us book over the phone and graciously explained to us the cancellations and flexibility due to covid, she was thorough and I appreciated that. Mikey checked us in and he was a natural, made us feel welcomed and warm. Nico, Jessina and Jae they were all stand out excellent. Kim was exceptional in instilling confidence in us. Let's just say for fact that nothing is perfect in life, nothing, and no one has it all. There were two incidents that happened during our four night stay. Nico, Jae & Kim were exemplary in helping resolve. Yes there were two incidents and both were resolved in reasonable fair manners. I don't want to dive into it because ultimately incidents will occur and it's how issues are resolved that truly matters. The hotel is chic, in a prime central location, super easy to take the L into the city and connect at Union Station to a multitude of trains. There's plenty of dining and shopping available. I recommend checking out the local wine shops and the Hoxton can provide wine glasses to your room and fresh glasses upon request! The room itself is quite small, functional, cute but small. Loved the bed it was firm and soft, super clean and fresh. The shower is very industrial and has very nice decor. Everything about the room is gorgeous and especially the view. Both the Brooklyn and Manhattan city view were nice. I almost prefer the Brooklyn view more tbh. Super clean crystal clear windows. Spacious lobby. Overall satisfied with our stay at the Hoxton, it's truly because of the staff. It's hard to find people with such integrity and passion that not only cares about their staff but also about the customer experience. I truly appreciate them so much. I can't wait to stay there again. I'll definitely have to check out their other locations. My only critique is that I wish they had a points program. It is pricy to stay here since the location is so nice. Expert advice: pack with a carry on if you're staying here. I feel terrible for anyone who brings a check in size bag... I suppose you can ask them to store your luggage once you've unpacked... there's no closet. Our AWAY carry on (the original size) fit perfectly under the desk. If ever there's a question call the front desk at the Hoxton, they are there to help make your stay comfortable and I believe they would do what they can to help out. Stopped in to soak in some sun and views from the gorgeous rooftop areas. There are several places to enjoy the outdoor space on the east river. It's like an entire Manhattan neighborhood in one property. You get plenty of working space with wi-fi, chill vibes living-room/W-esque with DJ, high end coffee shop, kids snack areas, dramatic open kitchen grill and restaurant on lower level with both indoor and outdoor options, then a casual outdoor area on the fourth floor, and the pinnacle of rooftops on the rooftop level. Service was all top-notch and food was incredible and priced right. Enough chilled rosè and Prosecco to keep anyone happy. All this in a twenty minute trip on the L train from Manhattan. Matt was super accommodating to any ask, down to earth, and really understands what guest relations are all about. read more

This is a review for just drinks in the GORGEOUS Hoxton lobby before a Rough Trade concert. It was a cold dreary night. Hoxton is right there and we had an hour to kill before our show. Awesome fact. In their courtyard, people were eating dinners in bubble tents. Yes, like those clear bubble umbrellas you picture Twiggy with in the sixties. It was cold and wet out. And people were eating outside in bubble tents. CRAZY cool. In some ways interior reminded me of best of retro Palm Springs, California. Modern. Bright. Angular. People working on their Apples. (Sunday night.) Families there. Nice server. We then saw a most awesome show at Rough Trade. One stands at Rough Trade. Pros: Great location, "urban sheek" aesthetic, cozy cafe/bar in the lobby. Cons: the rooms are REALLY small for the price (granted, maybe this is a normal NYC thing?). The room we had was barely big enough to fit the king sized bed in it. Also, the bathroom was strange. There's a pseudo-window in the door so you can see someone doing their business which seems like a weird design choice. No fan in the bathroom, and the design of the shower is such that the whole bathroom floor gets flooded with water after showering. I had a really hard time deciding on 2/3 stars and settled on 3 because of the vibes and aesthetic. The service is ABYSMAL. The wait staff at the lobby bar (Klein) is not very attentive and acts as if we are not good enough to be served. The drinks are reasonable for a bouje hotel in Williamsburg (12 well vodka...14 Tito's vodka... 16 cocktails) but the attitude could be better. Friends and i tried the new rooftop bar The Summerly and they really need to get their act together. It opened 10 days ago so i can understand kinks but the TWO hostesses and all waitors and waitresses seemed like they had no idea what was going on. The hostess was non-communicative and texting, the waitress didn't bring us water for at lease 10 minutes and when someone came to get our drink order he said "you guys are mine now...i guess". So rude. He got my drink order wrong (vodka soda, splash grapefruit with a lime...no lime) and it took ages. We got our fries before our drinks!! This review is a little late but I stayed here in Feb for a mini staycation. The room was nice & clean, there were tons of restaurants in the area, I wish I was there long enough to try more. Everyone at the front desk was so nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. I've seen other reviews of people complaining about the entrance.....it's not that serious. I like that anyone can't walk in off the street and that you need your room key for the elevators. The room is a bit smaller than I had thought with very minimal walking space but I only came back to sleep so I didn't mind that too much. It was such a popping spot for rooftop drinks. We've stayed here a couple of times and love that the Hoxton has a co-working-friendly lobby and restaurant with tasty options. We were able to get a reasonably priced room, though be warned - they tend to be small rooms for the most part. Given that, I do enjoy the efficient furnishings of the room. The bed has drawers that fits a carry-on which really helps because there isn't a closet but instead a valet/coat rack. I find the bathroom to be a bit awkward, bits of the shower are starting to wear, and there's a lack of place to keep toiletries of your own. (Theirs by the way are nothing special but at least smells good.) The bathroom is definitely the least impressive part of the property. Often the front desk staff are a bit off in their own world (and therefore a bit exclusionary) even though they try to be warm. I don't mind this personally, but I think it's good to note for those expecting a Marriott kind of welcome. There isn't parking available through the hotel, so we actually park at another hotel's valet service nearby, which is fine and easy enough! There's Citibikes nearby to utilize for rent/hire as well. Overall the Hoxton is a good option if you want/need to stay in Williamsburg. read more

The hotel rooms are extremely small. The design is nice but that's where it ends. Have to play Tetris with your things. The bathroom shower was terrible. It leaks out the bottom of the door, there's no way to contain the water to just the towel on the floor. Besides that, the water is completely unpredictable. Think it must be connected with the toilets of neighboring rooms as well. All of a sudden it was scalding hot. Which made bathing my toddler very stressful. The room itself doesn't look like it's well kept. The lining of our shower door was pealed halfway off, there are water stains on the ceiling, and the faucets have that green growth on them- I'm guessing brass that is never polished. The staff was nice. You have to request to have your room cleaned by 3. Which is fine I guess except there is no easy way to do it- no flipping a switch or hanging a card. You have to let reception know- shouldn't be that much of a hassle. Also, the bathroom door is translucent. Which may work in a bigger room? But they've position a mirror right across from it, so all that light takes over the room if one of you goes to the bathroom at night. Poor planning. Would not stay here again. read more

Second time staying at the Hoxton while on a work trip in Brooklyn and I have nothing but great things to say! They have 2 amazing restaurants on site and an amazing working area in the lobby where you can get drinks and breakfast and lunch. I also love their bathroom and their bed is SO comfy. Hotel staff was incredible, from start to finish. Vibe was really great. Great room. Great view. Rooftop restaurant that we were really looking forward to try had a consistent 2hr wait. Great for them - but would have been nice to know in advance that guests wouldn't ever be able to try it. Don't send emails psyching us up about the restaurant leading up to our stay if we can't even go there. Breakfast bag sucked. Overnight oats is a sugar filled bar, the OJ is small carton of topicana and the sad apple would have been better off fed to a thoroughbred. Can't be a hip hotel if you're not going to offer hip food. Great staff and bartenders in the lobby. Would stay again if I found a good deal. read more

Our home away from home during the pandemic. This hotel is our favorite all around. Gorgeous rooftop and lovely staff. Most importantly, very secure and clean during COVID times. Pup friendly and in an excellent part of Wburg. Some of the rooms have better views than others, but they all have something decently nice to look out towards. Loved working in front of the lobby fireplace - even with a mask. read more

Review is for The Summerly Rooftop Restaurant located atop the Hoxton. First off, the Hoxton is stunning and is aesthetic #goals everywhere you look! Took the elevator up to the rooftop resto during their first public weekend brunch service. Doors opened up to a jaw dropping view of manhattan. Great start already! Website said it was open at noon but the hostess said they opened at 12:30. They let me sit in one of the plush lounge chairs until hostess decided they actually WERE open at 12. No probs - opening weekend kinks. I was solo dining so I took a seat at the bar. Had my choice of the kitchen bar or bar bar and went for the latter. Okay, this entire place is MADE for insta. Millennial pink bar stools included! Started off with the Skyliner mezcal drink and decided to splurge for the $29 lobster roll. Figured it was my first lobster roll for the summer, so why not! I was pleasantly surprised that the roll came with old bay fries, which were amazing by the way. Apparently I was the first lobster roll ordered EVER so the chef personally hand delivered it to me and oh MAN this was one tasty lobster roll! Not overly stuffed with lobster meat but just enough to go hand in hand with the perfectly toasted bun. Wow this was worth it for sure! Chef came by to ask my thoughts and I had to tell him it was spectacular! In my short time at the Summerly, a lot of groups and couples came up for brunch (most looked like hotel guests - not a lot of locals yet). Still not widely known but a great spot for Williamsburg brunch and that view of the city cannot be beat. Big fan and will be back! read more

Went here for brunch....: the view is just breathtaking. It's like a post card kind of pic. Guess it's what sells the place . And it's perfect for a very hot day. The shed with their matching ceiling fans keep guests cool even though it's humid: The service is good. Not bad but just not as good as I expected. The straw they gave me was stained with wet ink that stained my little nice dress.ugh! Okay let's go to the food. I ordered their cheeseburger. I'm not going to lie cuz it's the best burger I've had so far. Really juicy and just perfectly cooked. The bun is so cottony soft (if that's even an adjective lol). The bf ordered lobster roll. I thought it was good, but then he started complaining about so I had no choice but to try it. And oh boy oh boy!!! It was soooo dry. Just really dry that you would need some drinks to push it back down your throat. Lol. Not exaggerating tho. It's so far the worst lobster roll I've had. So far. The chicken vmceasar is ok. Just regular. Their cocktails are I think too overpriced. It's $16 for cocktails that really are not extra. Just ordinary. Overall. The place is overpriced. I guess you are paying for the view and the location. We did enjoy lunch tho. Don't get me wrong. Just a tad bit overpriced for me. read more

First off very poor design whoever designed this dark and cold feeling place. You enter the hotel and have to trek down two flights of stairs???? When people arrive they want to quickly check in and go to their room not go on a trek up and down stairs with heavy luggage. This alone is enough not to come to this overpriced place. Too loud and noisy at night with many drunk people. Beds are uncomfortable. Not a fan of some guy checking in. read more
