I used to use HD almost exclusively for all my needs, and even have a credit card with them, same with all my family. After my last visit here, I have had enough. The service counter guy, who looks like John Turturro was such a jerk, I just can't go back. He was the cherry on top of continual horrible customer service at all the MA based Home Depot's. Horrible experience dealing with Home Depot and Generac customer service. I bought a portable Generac unit and when I tried to start it, it would not start, right out of the box. Home Depot would not take it back and Generac told me to take it to a local repair shop. The repair shop wouldn't come get it and it was too heavy for me to put in my car, being 63 years old. Brand new generator should start right out on the box. If it doesn't Home Depot/Generac should replace it. So disappointed and angry. read more

This location appears to be following all COVID restrictions and compliance with the state. It's smaller than the one where Ive been accustomed to shopping... For me that's a GOOD thing! I'm not big on super stores where if I forget something, I need to head back usually the length of the store to find it. Yes, on a positive note, a consolation is that I get my steps in... Horrible experience!!!!!! I ordered our back splash 3x12 white subway tile. I did curbside pick up with my two toddlers in the car. I was given 5 boxes of 4X18 wavy and one box of 4x18 smooth. NONE of which was what I ordered. I didn't realize until we go them and unloaded -- as you can imagine these are extremely heavy!!!!!! Our contractor also told us to get un-sanded grout, which was what we ordered - shocker we were provided with the complete opposite. Whoever put this order together could careless about the customer. Placed an order on Tuesday for a Friday delivery. Then placed an order on Thursday for a Saturday delivery. Was charged $79 delivery fee for both orders (over $3000 combined) they cancelled my Friday delivery and combined it with the Saturday delivery. Had three guys standing around for 4 hours on Saturday at $20 an hour each truck finally arrived around noon with both deliveries one item wrong and one item missing. Not happy at all cost me money and Home Depot could care less. Now I have to go out of my way to pick up the missing item and switch out the wrong item plus fight the double delivery charge. My husband and I had a awful experience with this Home Depot. We won't even buy as much as a box of nails from this store moving forward. My husband and I purchased a stackable washer and dryer on May 3rd. It wasn't until July 20th when we finally had our correct, working unit in our home. In the two plus months it took for us to get our unit installed we had seven different delivery dates with issues during each delivery date such as the delivery company not showing up, the units not fitting in the closet, only to have the company refuse to take them back with them and even once, had the unit show up damaged. In the the two months of working with the staff of this store, we were met with awful customer service. We often were given different answers to our questions and statuses of our order. We were promised calls back in which calls never came, leading us to initiate contact with the store. In the several times delivery attempts were made it was clear that Home Depot and the company they use to deliver their products were never on the same page. Delivery workers were often rude and even would argue with each other in public areas of our building complex, leading to uncomfortable times for my husband and I. After taking multiple days off of work, on top of the multiple scheduled days off we had where we wasted those days waiting for deliveries, we were insulted with a refund offer that did not even come close to matching our experience. Two weeks ago we sent an e-mail to corporate to voice our frustration in this experience. We've yet to receive a response back which has led us to send a second e-mail in hope of a response. We've never felt such buyers remorse, and highly recommend that you stay away from Home Depot. In the future, we will be buying from either a Lowe's store, or smaller appliance store. read more

I would give a zero if there was one for today. I could not laugh at today's mishaps as I have done for past mishaps. I went in for a product I saw online. I came with the picture on my phone and all numbers associated with the product to make it easier to find. The first worker sent me to the wrong aisle. The second worker did a fab job including climbing a ladder to find the product. Telling me they had moved it around. I paid and requested a bag and the cashier said she had none. I had 4 products. I carried them in my hands and on my way out through the garden section, the cashier in the garden section hurriedly jumped out of her box, into my path, abandoning the customer she was helping and requested to see my receipt to make sure it was dated for today. Quite uncomfortable for me and the customers lined up at her register. When I gave her my receipt, she mumbled and went back into the cashier's box. If Home Depot wants to check receipts, hire a full time person at the doors. If the lady was into personal inventory loss management, send her for more classes so she appears neutral and not with an agenda. Am shopping Walmart from now.Walk into their store,open their app and it send you to the right aisle and saves your time. And at the door, the greeter guy checks the receipts with neutral conversations and it's a full time job. read more

I purchased an LG Washer and Dryer (and Home Depot 5-Year Protection Plan) on Black Friday at Home Depot, and 2 months later, a broken LG washing machine was delivered to my house. The original delivery date in December had to be rescheduled to January 2017, and when they finally brought it to my home, the team refused to install the washing machine due to a so-called defect involving missing holes on the machine needed for stacking. The delivery guys left me with just the dryer and never called me back. I called Home Depot to tell them what happened, and they said "call LG, we have nothing to do with you anymore after the purchase". I called LG to report this so they scheduled the delivery of a replacement washing machine which was delivered a week later. The new delivery guys told me that the washing machine was not defective, but had new design and had to be installed by creating holes on the unit! Next day the washing machine made horrible loud squealing noise during use and sounded as if it was going to fall apart. I called Home Depot since I had purchased the Home Depot Appliance Protection Plan. I was told to contact LG directly, since the product was covered by the manufacturer's warranty for the first year. Ok....what is the point of paying $200 for a Protection Plan?! So I'm on the phone again with LG to report the damaged machine and to schedule a repair appointment. On that day the technician determined that it had worn-out shocks that needed to be replaced. After scheduling the next appointment, the technician arrived to my house but did not perform the repair because a 2nd technician was needed to lift the machine. I was told that I would be charged $90 for the repair, because LG warranty does not cover the cost of a second technician to do the repair. I ended up paying to get the machine fixed. I had called The Home Depot Protection Plan hotline, and each time they told me that I had to go through the manufacturer (LG). I paid for a protection insurance plan. I get a broken product on day 1. I'm expected to pay for its repair. This is absolute nonsense. The whole point of a protection plan is to protect the consumer in case of a faulty product! I should have received a replacement washing machine as soon as I reported it! It is absolutely absurd that I should have to cover the cost of a repair for an LG product that was first delivered to me in a damaged condition. The Home Depot Protection Plan is also fraudulent since it basically covers NOTHING for the 1st year - which is when you might get a bad product!!! I will NEVER shop at Home Depot ever again. read more

My girlfriend and I bought a house in Danvers a few months ago, and so have needed a lot of home improvement products since. This Home Depot location has become a second home for us and we have yet to have a bad experience. Every associate we have met has been very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. A lot more than I can say for the comparatively rude and unhelpful associates we have had the displeasure of encountering in the Lowe's down Andover St. We had been going to both stores depending on an item's cost/availability, but will definitely be shopping here exclusively out of the two from now on! read more

I have been in many Home Depot's before where I had to hunt someone down for help. Well not here! It wasn't long after entering the store that the first HD rep asked if we needed help. At that time we passed and thought we would just look for what we needed ourselves. Shortly after that while looking at an item on the shelves, we were asked again if they could be of any assistance. We again declined the offer. In trying to locate our last 2 items, we decided to ask for help. We had no problems finding a rep to help us out. If you ever want excellent service at a Home Depot then you need to go on a Monday afternoon! I had the best service today out at the garden section today, and then another great customer service experience at the flooring department. The guy who helped me at the garden center was very knowledgeable about grass seed and feed. I really felt like he was offering great tips that were helpful. Went for 1X4 treated, could not find, Ben pointed out they were 6 feet off ground , only 5 there, 4 badly bent and knotted, so took the close to straight one. Got to checkout, 2 self served closed, Service girl had another , and the rep in adjacent cash register too busy screwing with security fence to bother. Finally got to machine only to find no scan thing on board. Watched as red headed Diane tried to avoid my gaze and any attempt at service. When I spoke up she said she could not leave the area but could TRY (with that head shaking grimace we hear about) to look it up?? I dropped all the things I had right there, and headed for Lowes. Decided that, because in-store personell were inept and rude, to purchase online....OMG....so far, ordered at (9:00 am 10/22 ). Received message that order could be delivered and that contact would be made in 48 hours. At 2:00 pm, today, called the CS phone # on HomeDepot.com... First, was asked "Who told you 48 hours?" Explained that it was message after order placement. Then asked, "Well, have you called the store?" and I explained that I was calling HER because she was CS...Heavy sigh...and "OK....HOLD PLEASE...." 8 minutes hold time, later, she's back on the line to tell me "The store will call on Sunday...SUNDAY IS 48 HOURS!" I just hung up. I can't be bothered to explain to this rude, brain-dead person that 9:00 am today was 48 hours...because the laws ot time, space, and basic civility seem to no longer exist at Home Depot....my toaster has a higher IQ, honestly! read more

I will NEVER buy another appliance from this store again. EVER. And if you do, BUYER BEWARE of the Asurion Extended Warranty. Don't waste your money. It's worthless. Never again... NEVER. If I could offer ZERO Stars that would be too many. I bought an expensive Samsung Refrigerator from Home Depot 3 years ago and also purchased Home Depot's 5 year extended warranty which says, "No Deductibles, No Additional Fees, No Kidding If We Can't repair It, We'll Replace It!". Home Depot's Extended Warranty Company has sent repair persons to my home 4 times previously and while the technicians were all very nice during those visits, they repeatedly failed to adequately repair my Samsung refrigerator's ice maker. It continued to over-spray water causing large ice buildups to form which prevented the ice maker from operating. Each time they came, they would melt the ice buildup, smear some sealant around and call it fixed until the next time which was usually about 3 months later. This time, Asurion decided that it would do a "buy-out" on my fridge and a repair person was scheduled to come for the 5th visit between 2 and 4. At 3:45, the technician called me. He sounded annoyed. He tersely asked how many times his company (Qdexcyma) had been to my home. I said that today would be the 5th time. He asked me what had been done during other visits. I told him that each time a tech had come, they added more sealant to the seams of the ice maker and they used a heat gun or something to defrost it, then they left. He said, 'OK, I coming.' At 4:06pm the man rang my doorbell (I know the exact time because I have a timed video of his arrival). My husband answered the door to a very angry man. The man said something (heavily accented) to my husband (who doesn't hear well), and thinking the man had been here during one of the previous 4 visits my husband welcomingly said, 'Go ahead through, it's in the same place.' The man tersely responded, 'I never been here!' The man came into the kitchen where I was standing and imperiously asked me for the service history. I said, "Service history? I don't know what you mean - no one has ever left me any paperwork." He acted disgusted and then, while pulling my ice maker bin out of the malfunctioning unit, asked me again what had been done at past visits. He thrust the ice bin angrily into my hands and said, "This cracked." I said, "Ok... but that has nothing to do with the ice maker not making any ice. This is just the bin that holds the ice." He gave me such a look of fury that I took a step back. Since he had asked me what had been done previously, I started pointing to the previously 'sealed' areas and telling him that the previous technicians had used a heat gun 'or something' to defrost the unit. He got even nastier when he tersely corrected me saying, 'Heat gun? Or Steamah??" Not being a tech, I said, "Ok - I guess it may have been a steamer..." (I am still standing there holding the ice collection bin.) The man then took out a screwdriver and started taking a screw out of the ice maker. I said "Just a minute...." and started to remind him that I had been told by my Asurion case agent that no repairs were to be done, just diagnostics today, because Asurion had advised me that they were going to do a 'buy out'. This man was downright furious! He turned around angrily and started putting his things away muttering that he can't diagnose without taking the entire thing apart. So I said, "Ok, go ahead and do whatever you need to do, I am just telling you what the agent told me..." He said, 'No, I not do anything! I am going to call and report you.' and he gathered up all of his things and started dialing someone on his phone. So I said (still standing there holding the ice bin), 'Why are you sooo angry? I'm just telling you what they told me.' He said, "I not angry, YOU angry!" I looked straight at him trying to be conciliatory and said, "I'm not at all angry - I'm just trying to show you what's already been done and telling you what I was told by the case agent." Again he said he was "calling office and reporting" me. I am still standing in front of my open refrigerator holding the ice bin as the man is abruptly starting to walk away. At that point, my husband came out and asked, "OK, what's going on here?" The man started walking toward him saying he was calling 'someone' to report me (and something indecipherable) and my husband told him, "Just get out." The angry man had already packed up and was leaving anyway so that was a moot point. The man arrived here angry and left just as angry. He was in his car and gone and I was still standing in my kitchen holding the ice bin in front of my open fridge. All of this took place in FOUR MINUTES. I know this because I have the video of his leaving my home at 4:10pm. FOUR MINUTES!!!! If you are ever foolish enough to buy an extended warranty from Home Depot with Asurion, DON'T EVER let Qdexcyma service your purchase. read more

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. The sales clerk wrote down the wrong stock number so it didn't have a water dispenser. She also didn't include removal of the old refrigerator on the order. I gave the delivery team $20 to take away the old fridge. They wouldn't hook up the ice maker to the water supply. The plumber later said there was nothing wrong with the line. When the plumber tried to hook up the water supply he found a broken connector on the fridge. I had a terrible time dealing with Samsung repair, and when the tech finally arrived he looked and said he didn't have the right part. He had to come back again on another day. I wrote a nice letter to the general mgr of Home Depot outlining my nightmare, that I didn't have a water dispenser, and the icemaker had not worked for over 2 months. He read it and without another word said "I will get a new fridge with the ice maker and water dispenser as I had originally wanted" - no questions asked, and they will hook up the water. What could have been a hassle dealing with Home Depot turned out to be a pleasant experience. read more

I normally go to HD in Reading, but recently came to Danvers because they had the snow blower that I wanted in stock, the Ariens Platinum 30-inch which goes for $1599. Before pointing out the negatives, I will say the gentleman that worked at the rentals department was extremely knowledgable and helpful. We interacted with him because we needed to use their truck and ramps to move the snow blower. The other staff in this particular store were useless and even rude. At one point we were leaving with a shopping cart outside one of the areas and one of the older women employees ran at me and yelled at me for my receipt as if I was stealing the whole shopping kart instead of just asking. I had just spend over 2K in the store so I was not happy about that. Also, the snow blower that we bought there was NOT assembled correctly, they do not test their equipment which is why if I need to buy heavy duty equipment of this nature I will always go directly to dealers moving forward. The blade to the blower was not turning when I turned it on and after hours of reading the manual and calling Ariens directly I found out that the belt they had put on my brand new blower was a size too big. read more

I had a very nice associate help me select a dishwasher. I was doing other shopping and paying by check so she printed all the paperwork and said any register could ring it up. I complete my other shopping and the cashier rings everything up, but could not get the discount for the dishwasher to go through. She tells me I need to go to customer service to check out so they can enter the discount. I then wait in the customer service line and when it's my turn there's two associates but both are avoiding me. Finally, a women grumbles "can I help you." I explain what happened with the cashier and she says ok. She rings everything up and says "I can't put the discount in for you-- you need to pay in the appliance department." I again state I'm paying by check and she says " I can't give you the discount." My husband then says "forget it" and we walk out. Yes we went to the competition down the street and had a wonderful experience!! That being said we won't be back to Home Depot again!!! read more

This past Wednesday, November 21st, I went to the Danvers, MA store on Newbury Street (Route 1) to pick up hot and cold water hoses for the washing machine in my new home. I found the plumbing department with no problem, but when I got there was left staring at a wall with an array of different choices. I walked around searching for employees and ultimately found two men walking in my direction. Then, I politely asked, "Hi, if either one of you has a second to help me, I'm trying to find hot and cold water hoses for my new washing machine." One of the employees stared me directly in the eye, looked at me as if to question my purpose (I'm a 23 year old 5'1" female, not your strapping plumber type) gave it a minute and walked away. The other said he would go to find someone in the plumbing department to help me and I said I would be waiting right at the wall for assistance. While I waited, I turned to the internet for any guidance, but came up short. I waited in that spot for a sales associate for over 15 minutes, and no one came. Ultimately, after quite some time, I found what I needed on my own. On my way to the register to check out, I passed the employee who offered to go find someone who worked in plumbing, and found him just chit chatting with another employee. I was not pleased, to say the least. The woman who rang up me at the register was extremely pleasant and helpful, so at least I left on a positive note! However, I am left very disappointed in a store that my family and I have given our business to for many, many years. read more

Never again will i purchase anything from the home depot ever again. This store (plaistow) is one of the worst ones. My landlord purchased me a new washer and it was supposed to be delivered wednesday and home depot screwed up. They called my landlord last night at 836 pm to give him a window for 7-11 am this morning. We didn't even get a 12 hour notice. I was in my bathroom this morning when the delivery people rang the bell, I immediately came outside and attempted to speak to them and they waited until I was walking back into my home to speak to me. They said it had already been re scheduled and they completely refused to deliver it. For the time they spent parked in front of my home (over ten minutes after they rang the bell) they could have easily delivered it. I am a single mother and i work 50-60 hours a week to support my son and keep a roof over our heads. Home depot gives me less than 12 hours notice to deliver. I had a similar issue with them when my dryer was delivered and last year when I purchased a washer (I was in a different house) it was the same hassle to get something delivered properly. This store can't even cut a key correctly. I can't tell you how many times I've had to bring keys back for a refund. Im sure some will say why did i go back? I went back because I like to give businesses a chance. This however takes the cake and I will never purchase anything again from any HOME DEPOT. You would think after screwing up the delivery on wednesday, home depot would go the extra mile and made sure it was delivered today. Yup nope they totally didn't. If it was my decision where to purchase the washer, I wouldn't have purchased it from home depot. read more

Idiots who don't know how to do basic things, like ring up the register properly, rude idiots, and incompetent management. Almost every time I go in there it's an issue. The last time, I had a mfg. coupon for a free light bulb up to $5. Anyone with an IQ over 6 could read and understand it. Nope, not the peabrains in this Home Depot. The uneducated clerk actually tried to argue with me that the coupon meant it was buy one, get one. See, this is the problem, when the untrained imbeciles can't ring up a transaction properly, they make things up. Perhaps that's why they're minimum wage retail morons. I tried calling to see if this store had an item I need. After 18 minutes of being on hold and being asked multiple times which department I need, I had still not spoken with anyone who could help. I was told at 13 minutes into the call that the person would get a manager, but that didn't even happen. Instead, I was looped back into the operator or whoever it is that answers the phones and never given a manager. Total waste of time and horrible customer service. I hung up and called Lowe's which were able to answer my question within a couple minutes. read more

For the record I normally go to the Home Depot by the liberty tree mall but today I decided to go to the one on route one in peabody. There tool department is larger and I was in the market for a new skilsaw. Well as I was going though the lumber department to get a sheet of plywood an associate come up to me. ( I am a 28 male, I'm wearing work clothes and I do handy man work on the side) Since I needed the sheet cut I asked the guy to do it. He was like ok what do u want? I said I need a 1/4 sheet cut at 23 3/4in. Long ways. I dunno maybe he didn't here me? My girlfriend heard me loud and clear? It was not a hard cut. He put it on the jig the wrong way. I stopped him. Then he gave me attitude, " sir where do u need this cut " again I pointed it out to him. He huffed and puffed and made the cut. End of that guy. Then the lady at the front end needed someone to help her ring everything up. It was one sheet of plywood and some pipe insulation. When we got home and placed the plywood to the back of the cabinet I was fixing we found out that indeed the cut was made at 23 3/4in but by the time he got to the other side that cut was now at 25in. Should have just done it myself. Now I have a wasted sheet I can't use thanks to this guys incompetence. Maybe everyone is burned out from the holiday but they need better help in this store because I won't be back and come to home depot a lot. read more

He was incredibly helpful, offered great tips for us as new homeowners, and was about as nice as them come. He helped us buy a flagpole and flag, and then asked me to thank my father for being a veteran. And Bob was a veteran too!
