So mean to us, lol zero sense of adventure, called ahead for a part at 4:50 pm and they challenged us to get there by 5 pm when they closed and we made it man, but instead of welcoming our victory they said very aggressively "we're closed!" I was hoping they would appreciate an underdog story, not dissimilar to the underdog story of the USA back in July of 1776, on this beautiful 4th of July. I have to say not very patriotic of them. Like my mother before me, I LOVE hardware stores . There's always something I need for my place and I prefer a smaller store than the big box variety. Yesterday I needed keys made & phoned first, making sure they could do it. I'd recently been in _____ the " Orange" big box store and after waiting what seemed to be forever for a hardware associate, I left exasperated. The gentleman who answered the phone couldn't have been nicer when I asked my question.... So off I went. The store is located right next to the RMV in an old, sort of run down shopping center.... Remnants of the long gone Building 19 shuttered on one end... A very busy Market Basket on the other. I found parking easily and entered the store. I was greeted within maybe 5 seconds & asked if I wanted help finding anything.... KEYS made. I was helped right away without any negativity whatsoever.... This is a new & wonderful experience that I like! Lol After making the keys the associate asked me if there was anything else I needed... Yes there was. And so he brought me ( without any negative attitude) over to what they had .. unfortunately I need '1' caster of a certain size to replace on the bottom of an antique chair - long story .. I moved recently which resulted in mega damages. Anyway, we talked some and he gave me options to explore..... how awesome! I went to pay. While doing so - because it's certain that I will return, I subscribed to their rewards program... My 1st purchase already netted me a $5.00 reward - how cool is that! This was a great experience.... It's not far from where I live. A great place to shop. read more

I have always gone to Aubuchon for things a need to dyi projects. This was the most disappointing and useless visited store ever. One clerk was pleasant but did not know plumbing. The other clerk who knew plumbing was useless. He just stated just go look when I asked help. Found the gauge to measure old part but was not labels for size. Clerk states old type and I do not have time to help you. I could have gone to big box store and got the same level of support. Strongly recommend against this store. Not like other Aubuchon' so have gone to in the past. read more

On Valentines Day I was in need of an item to finish a project. A Google search had incorrectly lead me to believe that they were open until 8pm. Imagine my surprise when at 10 past 7 when I walked in and Tom(an employee) was curious to know how I got into the store. Well instead of kicking me out he took the time to assist me with what I needed. It was refreshing because lately customer service is something that everyone seems to be lacking. I've been going to this store for nearly 10 years as I hate to give money to the big box hardware stores when I could be giving it to the smaller guy. For most (maybe all) of this time the store manager has been Tom. He and his team are always - ALWAYS - by the front door and greet me when I walk in, offering help whenever possible. And by help I don't mean pointing to aile 4...I mean walking me to aisle 4 and showing me specifically where in the aisle is the selection of the item I'm looking for. They are always happy to help my load things into the car, too! LOVE these guys!! read more

I purchased a rose bush from Aubuchon in Aug 2017 and the person who helped me sprayed it with Neem Oil, presumably as a favor, and I purchased a bottle of it at the time. They failed to tell me that Neem Oil is lethal to bees: "this product is toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment. Do no apply this product while bees are actively visiting the treatment area." I found this out upon reading the leaflet you can only open after purchase on the Neem Oil. My garden is a bee garden, designed to attract and protect them, but regardless such an uninformed approach to selling pesticides is alarming. This information is only accessible to customers after purchase, since you have to open the information on the back of the bottle to get to the detail. It's not clear why a garden center would sell products harmful to the very creatures they need to continue having plants to sell. read more

I had an earlier review of this store where I told of a poorly made key and its aftermath. The store manager Tom promptly responded when I called the main office. He apologized for the mistake and for the poor treatment at the store when I returned with the bad key. He also offered a store gift certificate I found nearly equal to my losses. He converted a poor impression into a much more positive one. It pays to go to the top. read more

Have been shopping at Aubuchon Hardware in Haverhill for years. Staff is always courteous and helpful. Yesterday, I called and asked if they had any lawnmowers. They said yes. I told them I would be there in an hour, and my lawnmower was waiting for me. read more
