Beware. Assistant Manager Nick and Manager Adam are extremely rude. I purchased an 80V Chain Saw on a Friday. The next day I tried to use it, and it refused to start. I have other Atlas Battery Tools, and like them due to the simplicity. Put the battery in and pull the switch. But this Chain Saw was a total fail. I tried two batteries, and read the instructions. I thought perhaps the chain was too tight, so I removed the chain and the bar. It still would not operate. So I traveled back to Danvers, with my receipt, and demonstrated the issue. Assistant Manager Nick acknowledged the saw did not work. But refused to offer any solution. Refused to replace it. Refused to honor the 90 day warranty. I called Corporate on Sunday, and still no solution. I believe I will have to file a claim with Small Claims Court. Don't trust Harbor Freight. read more

I recently discovered this place and thought the prices are great and employees helpful with the exception of one. This person is an old woman with short dark hair who today passive agressively displayed a form of racism I was disapointed to see. Long story short she showed her racial prejudice by pioritizing her white customers making me and my family wait at another register for one other staff to come. The wait wasnt bad but seeing her ring up 3 other people we were ahead of was eye opening and disappointing. I looked forward to the weekends because I liked patronizing this business. I shan't be returning. I only hope the other locations dont employ people like her. This would be a 1 star if not for the other employees. They were great and helpful. I'm not one to write reviews, but I just felt like I had to share my experience. I will make sure to write a positive review for the Home Depot in Reading that we went to after leaving Harbor Freight to offset the negatives from my experience. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I don't know if this is specific to the Danvers location only, but it was so bad I don't think we'll give any other Harbor Freight locations a chance. As new home owners, we are having lots of fun learning about DIY home renovations and updates. And also as new homers, we have absolutely nothing to do these renovations and updates. So, off to Harbor Freight to pick up tools (and we aren't just talking about the little things; we have a garage now and the husband is all about big, probably not that useful, tools and benches). We arrive. Hmmmm... no carts anywhere? We're definitely going to need one of them! My husband asks the first associate we see. This grumpy lady tells us in a very annoyed tone that she doesn't know, maybe he should check the parking lot. Off to the parking lot for my husband while I stick around to look around. Grumpy lady continues to complain, "He should have looked around the store and saw that everyone has carts, why would there be any available?!!? Grumble, grumble, grumble, some customers are so dumb." Wow, silly us for thinking that a store would have more than 10 carts. OK, fine. Maybe she's just having a bad day. Now let's look at tools, weeeee!! But of course, we have some questions. Probably silly, naive questions, but doesn't that just make life easier for the associate? It'll be and easy pop quiz! Well, trying to find someone to help is pretty impossible. Then when you do find someone, they too must be having a bad day because the tone is very similar to Grumpy Lady's. We brush it off and say whatever. Maybe we won't buy as much here but there are still a few things we'd like to pick up to get started on as soon as we get home. It's a Sunday, we have some time. We wait in line, two registers are open. We finally get up to the counter and are greeted by a young man who seems jovial, unlike the rest of his counter parts. I start to smile. Another customer that looks similar to the cashier interrupts. I don't know what they are saying because it's a different language, but seems upbeat and happy; no sense of urgency or anything. Jovial cashier looks at me and says, "Can you go to the other line? I have to go it's an emergency." Wow, that's how this works?!? No, we are not going to go to the other line. It's long and we've already waited in line to get to this point! AND Grumpy Lady is working it. We're done. Maybe we should have be done before that, but we've finally had enough. We walked away from a full cart (that my "dumb" husband found in the parking lot). When we get back to our car, Jovial Cashier is chatting and laughing at the window of the car parked next to us. Guess it was some emergency! I wish my emergencies included friendly, laid back visits with friends and family during work hours! Never ever ever again will we go there. Oh boy what a place. Filled with many things I'd like to buy but very angry people work there. Asked the female older lady cashier a questions. She looked up over her glasses & told me I would have to wait until she was finished with her customers. After 4 people more we asked for the manager. At that point he just happened to be walking by. We asked for assistance with the hammers we were looking for. He bluntly stated that if we didn't see them then they don't have them. We explained that we saw them there just last week. Would there be anymore in stock later? He angrily said again if you don't see them then we don't have them. My husband wisked me out of their so fast. Home Depot is just across the road. I was looking to purchase a generator at a time when no one had them in stock. The Danvers store had one and I verified by phone that they did. I asked to pay for it over the phone and was denied as that is not allowed per company policy. Fearing that it would be gone by the time we got there, I asked them to hold it or do anything they could to assure that it would be there. The associate offered that though he's had a lot of calls for generators, none have been for the one I wanted. It would be there when we arrived. Well, guess what. An hour later it was gone. I wasted 2 hours of my guys time because of their crazy company policies. And nobody wants to listen to my complaint. The customer service here is quite bad. Employees are flip with customers, and the returns experience is not customer friendly. Of course, the tools are dirt cheap (and as the other review mentions, you'll absolutely want to stock up on the free goodies from all the coupons), so that may make it worth it. Just know that if you run into any issues where you need employees at this location to help, you'll likely be on your own. (My own experience in this regard involves a HF extended warranty that was not honored appropriately by this location.) read more

I was very disappointed, in the way I was treated with a return. I brought back a $6 voltage tester I had bought the day before because it didn't work, it had the original packaging, but unfortunately I did not have the sale slip( I guess I must be the only one who ever lost a slip) I only wanted to exchange it for another one. To my surprise they couldn't do anything. Purchased a power washer that stopped working. My return was quick & painless because the unit was returned in the box with the receipt. If not, don't even bother trying.
