As I walked around I noticed a shade that I wanted to purchase and the older lady in the store was rude and very dismissive letting me know that I should bring the lamp in for a good fit (she may have been the owner). While I wouldn't mind doing that whatsoever, the attitude behind her message was less than stellar, like she couldn't be bothered with my meager lampshade business. She did offer some advice on fit, but that did not compensate for her terrible attitude toward me especially after she told me the lampshade was over $200 dollars, using a condescending voice as if I couldn't afford it. I walked away feeling like I had imposed on her, reassuring myself that it was nothing I did to constitute being treated that way.

We renovated our kitchen and needed new appliances (refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher)…read more We looked at Moderno, as they were local and they had really nice offering and there website was great, and worked well. Jowi at the Salem office showroom was super nice and helpful. We decided on Thor Kitchen appliances and they are amazing quality, and priced very fairly. They do take credit cards but charge an extra % so we paid by check so no problem. The fridge came damaged and then took a while to get a replacment which was a bit of a pain due to supply issues but they communicated with us and we finally got the kitchen of our dreams completed! At the end, Victor gave us a nice gift, which was so nice and appreciated! I can not recamend Moderno enough! Excellent products and customer service!

I bought a desk and an unfinished bookcase from Bostonwood Furniture and am extremely satisfied…read more This was my first time purchasing nicer furniture (I was on a grad school budget until recently!) and the experience was great. I currently live in New York City, but I knew I wanted to go with a New England based business since Maine is home for me. I know there are a lot of New England based furniture shops to choose from, but Bostonwood seemed to offer the best value. The sales and delivery staff were all helpful, professional, and friendly. They even finished and delivered my order a little sooner than quoted. The desk is particularly beautiful and feels sturdy and well-built. The unfinished bookcase is just what I was expecting, and is a huge step up from the discount ones I used to buy back in grad school. I'll certainly return to Bostonwood in the future to replace the rest of my silly grad-school-budget particle board furniture!!

Great custom work!!! We have worked with Bostonwood before…read moremaking a peice of furniture for us and were really pleased, so when we decided to add some 'built-ins' to a new addition that we just finished, it was an automatic option that we wanted to check out. Originally I was planning to build everything myself, but after completing a few of the cabinets, I realized that I really didn't have professional finishing capabilities (specifically painting) that we wanted and that it was going to take me way longer than I originally planned, so we took our design to Bostonwood to get a quote. We worked with Mike in the Bedford store. On our first visit, we discussed the project, which involved 2 components (a library wall and wall-to-wall desk) and included some of the custom elements that I wanted to make sure were included in the build. After discussing everything in detail he came back with a quote that was extremely competitive!!!. At the beginning of the process, they delivered a set of CAD drawings and renderings that showed the proposed finished cabinets. They provided us several different color rendering, which helped us visualize even better the finish prooject so we could make the final finish decision. I also asked them to provide a second set of drawings with CAD measurements and details so I could verify the measurements and construction (which they gladly did). We made a few alterations based on the these. The build took a few weeks, during which Mike reached out and kept us informed of the progress. He also took a couple of last minute changes that I realized would be required (fortunately I realized these before they had cut anything) When the product was delivered, the team was extremely polite and brought the peices directly into the new addition space, helping me get them into place. As they were bringing them in, I noticed a small change that required them to take the peices back to the shop, which they were more than happy to do. In the end, when they were re-delivered, we were SO pleased and with them installed are very happy with the finish look they give to this area in our home. They are already in full use and being enjoyed. I would highly recommend them and fully expect to visit their store for our next project.

Rosy's refused to take any responsibility to get the stone dust safely removed and left me to handle it and absorb the cost for something they caused on my own property. Full Review: My neighbor on 7/21/25 had Rosy's Marble and Granite over to install a quartz sink. They cut the quartz in the shared driveway and quartz dust covered my car. I noticed this when I looked out the window to investigate the noise and saw a white cloud surrounding my car. I went outside and inquired with the installer, while mentioning the dust that is covering my car. He didn't seem too concerned and continued and said the cutting was mostly done and he was far enough away. The installer did have a mask on but there was no effort made to contain the dust by using sheeting or a dust collector from covering people's property. After research it concerned me that quartz dust is sharp little rocks that could severely damage car paint if allowed to sit and not cleaned off promptly and properly. I mentioned this to the installer and again he wasn't concerned and was fine as it was quartz plastic dust (extremely unhealthy to breath in), and it could be rinsed or blown off my 2-month-old car. I asked him to move further away from the car to prevent more dust from covering the car as it was windy out and blowing directly onto my car. An amazing amount of pollen ended up on the car within a couple hours as it was most likely sticking to the sharp quartz dust sitting on the car. I washed my car two days before, so it was clean. I contacted my neighbor who was getting the work done to ask them to be careful and not do this around the cars in the driveway. She mentioned that they offered to rinse off my car, I refused as a water hose could allow the quartz dust to scratch the paint. Once the installer realized that this may be serious, he offered up that he knew a detailer. My neighbor was mortified and offered to get the owners contact info. I called the owner later in the day once I received his number and left a message describing the situation. I took my car to get it detailed and the quartz properly removed that day as I didn't want it to sit and possibly cause expensive paint damage. The owner never returned my call, I reached out to him again two days later and I explained the situation. He took absolutely no ownership of what his company did and tried to deflect the blame. I am not even a customer of Rosy's, and I was affected by their disregard to how they did the cutting in the open and refused to make me whole by paying for the detail that I had to get done to clean my car correctly to prevent risking expensive damage. I stated I just want my car returned to the condition it was before your company arrived and a detail was required to safely do that. He said that I should have contacted him that day, which I tried to do by leaving a voicemail. His installer should have handled the problem right when it happened instead of trying to ignore and hope it will go away. Rosy's has a blatant disregard of people's property and refuse to fix the problems they create.

Now flash forward 7 years to today and our 100 year old house has settled and the seam in the sink opened and has also caused the sink to dislodge. We don't blame them for the need of a repair but this where the one star comes in, service! I went to them in person to try and arrange a (paid) service call. They had me fill out a form and said they would call me to arrange a visit to my home. Two weeks pass no call. I call them, go through this whole process again only over the phone this time. Two more weeks pass still no call. Clearly they don't care. Even a busy company could set a visit appointment even if it was a couple months out.
