I had a very unprofessional experience at Home Depot. I went in looking for a cap for a screw for my exercise bike and was directed to aisle 14. However, there was no one available to assist in that aisle. There were three of us needing assistance, but none was provided. I went to the customer service desk twice to request assistance in aisle 14, but no one came. Ultimately, I spent 45 minutes finding a cap for my screw by myself. The cashier opened the two bags I brought to the register to ensure I wasn't accused of theft. This situation was highly unsatisfactory. It should not take 45 minutes, or even 30 minutes, to receive assistance. There should be a sales associate available in every aisle, especially after requesting help from customer service. read more

The experience was okay but the Christmas Trees are being cut too young! There are large holes in the trees and the branches aren't strong enough to hold plastic ornaments. I am a faithful Home Depot customer, and I do a lot of my shopping at Home Depot, I have been coming to the Capitol Heights location for years!!!! I wanted to recognize the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! TO CLAY. Clay went above and beyond customer service for me and he needs to be recognized for it... I had a list of items, and not only did he acknowledge me when I came in but he assisted in finding EVERYTHING. That kind of experience should not go unnoticed...I am in the customer service field and have full compassion for good service. 5/16/24 7:30pm My bathtub started leaking, so I came to Home Depot to get a stem for the handle. I walk in, easy to get to stems, but there are about 7 different kinds. Ok let me find someone in the plumbing department. Awesome, I see 2 in the next isle(a male and a female). I walk over... "excuse me, I'm trying to replace this part". To my astonishment they said, "we just work her, you'll need to go to customer service and ask her. I replied but y'all work in the plumbing department though. Do not get your appliances at Home Depot. They send out appliances that have been packed damaged and do not want to exchange them or help you out. I received a dishwasher that had no damage to the outside box or the packaging and the door and inside were bent and they insisted I had to go through GE the manufacturer. GE service inspected it and found it had been damaged inside and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I'll never shop at Home Depot again. You pay good money and they don't want to do the right thing. read more

This place has "0" customer service, and I always find myself upset at myself for coming to this location. I am admittedly not the most handy person in the world, so I rely on stores like these to help me out. And after receiving an $8,000 payment for installing carpeting and flooring they refused to return to my home and pick up 2 extra boxes of flooring. This is the worse store to shop at. Went on-line for a product, states they have the product, but when you go to the store they do not have it, and to call is a waste of time because they do no answer the phone and when they do you are placed on hold. While at this store I ask a representative to assist me and she stated she will, once she finish her text. This is a problem with their staff cell phone texting. All of the employees in this store need to be retrained or fired, because customers are what keep that store open. I rather go to LOWES! I pulled my back and was unable to get a garden soil. So I tried curbside pick up never again. I have been waiting for an hour. I tried to call three times, no answer. I finally had to call the 800# for Home Depot and have them call the Capitol Heights MD store. Now I have my soil, when I asked the associate why did it take over an hour she said that nothing came through her computer. When I asked why didn't anyone answer the phone, there was no comment. Oh my, I had the best experience at the Central Ave location a couple weeks ago on 9/18/17 within the paint department. I can't remember the gentleman's name but he was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He proffered experience, advice, and suggestions. I rarely ever get any of that when shopping at Home Depot; usually the employees are reactive and just know what direction to point me in, rarely do they know about the products. The employee who was working the paint department hair was loc'd, tall, between 20-30s. I was in the store between 1:30 and 2:30pm and he was about to end his shift. I hope that management can see this review and give him kudos. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, if I could give zero stars I WOULD... The customer service at both Capital Heights and MLK are the worst. Had measurements done for interior doors over TWO MONTHS AGO and I called THEM. They wrote in "their" notes, that I refused service. Do you think I would have went thru the headache and hassle of taking a day off work to have someone take measurements and call corporate if I didn't want it done.I am so glad they built an Ace Hardware by my house, the price is a little more but the Customer Service is by far worth every penny. I visited Home Depot with my neighbor because we needed to buy a hand truck to lift a washing machine with.. I figured it was going to be a hard job and we were torn between which hand truck to purchase. Luckily, a very nice and handsome employee named Seth was there to assist us. We appreciated how he took the extra step to show us how to use the hand truck to load up a washing machine. That was so nice! Now if the cashier hadn't of given us a slight attitude about the price of the hand truck (we tried to haggle the price down since it was slightly rusted - got $10 off!) then the experience would've been great. I frequently shop at Home Depot for work and my personal items needed for my house. I never really felt compelled to write a review ever, but today was totally different. I received the best customer service I have every received while shopping at any store! From the beginning Sunmi was excellent. She personally spoke to everyone she interacted with and showed so much enthusiasm. She was knowledgeable and very helpful. Although I prefer Lowe's, I've begun to like this Home Depot which is near my home. After having difficulty with a home improvement contractor, I decided to check out Home Depot and their deals with roof replacement. Replacing a roof is expensive! However, it is well worth it with Home Depot! I had the roof, the soffit, and the gutters replaced. In addition, I have a 25-year warranty with the roof and a 20-year warranty with the leaf protector in the gutters. The cool part is that you can pick out the color of your roof! I never really paid attention to it. So, now, when I walk my dogs, I'm always checking out people's rooves. The project took 2 days. The guys did a great job on the roof. They were fast and efficient. They cleaned up afterwards really well. I have been nothing but impressed with the entire transaction from ordering to completion! Stick with Home Depot as they know what they're doing and you get some worry-free warranties! read more

Not sure what changed, but Home Depot I like it. In the past, this Home Depot was a shining example of "The Big Orange Lemon". The store was always a wreck. The staff was never around. And it was generally a miserable place to shop. I hated suffering through the hell that was this store. All that 'seems' to have changed. In this most recent trip the store was well organized, there were staff in every other row restocking and keeping things straight. There was more than one check-out lane open, and no huge line. I don't know what changed, but Home Depot PLEASE keep it up. This Home Depot store is now a nice place to shop. If it doesn't go back to hell, I might actually enjoy this Home Depot. read more

This is your standard Home Depot, though on the smaller side. The isles and stick were neat, and the staff was helpful in directing me to the things I needed. When I visited it was rather empty and there was only one cashier on duty. The things I had were difficult to put through the self serve scanner. This was a minor issue. Called store on Wednesday November 11 they say there waiting on me for the sink. Someone from the fabrication shop had been calling me. Lie because no one called me on my landline or cell phone. No message left. I called the store on Monday since I still had not heard from anyone left my name and number no response. Went to store today spoke with the person in install they called the fabrication shop while I stood there and left her name and number for them to call her. Totally disgusted I asked for a manager. Love that the staff is being COVID-19 safe. It makes me feel better when I am in the store. Unfortunately, I put in an order for drywall on a Monday that was in stock and here it is Saturday and I have not heard anything. I am working on a deadline and no call, no email, no nothing. However, here I stand with a very nice staff person, who I must apologize to for not being very nice, she has been wonderful. It most assuredly is not her fault that she works with incompetents that can't pull 20 sheets of drywall between Monday and Friday. Unacceptable. Then the floor workers shuffled around like they didn't have a clue, like they were just trying to waste time until they got off. I went into the store on Saturday to order merchandise for delivery on Monday. Still not here on Wednesday morning. Whoever Home Depot is contracting with for home delivery sucks. I was told when I PAID that the driver will call at least 30 mins before drop off. First of all no one called to inform me the delivery was on the way or even that it had arrived. I got an automated Home Depot survey call about my delivery and SURPRISE my stuff had been dropped. Well, it was the wrong material, wrong name, wrong address - someone else's stuff. My merchandise of course is supposedly dropped off at someone else's house. Had Home Depot's contract driver called, I would have been home and this would not have happened. And to top it off Home Depot was unable to correct the driver's mistake until the driver's company can pickup and redeliver stuff the next day. Well, that didn't happen because my stuff is missing. So now we are looking at three days (Wednesday) before Home Depot might manage to deliver what I paid for. Delivery Day two and Tim (Manager) can't find my stuff at the other drop off, nor can he get my PAID for material to me until tomorrow. Talk about POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. He was nice enough but seemed helpless to resolve (ie, manage) the problem. Delivery Day three, pass the quoted delivery window, one call in to the Home Depot that, of course, looped around before I got Joanna (also a Manager) on the phone who then asks me insulting questions like was the delivery window for a PM delivery. Why would I want a PM delivery 3 days late with the contractor on the way (which she was told btw)? I was asked this as if somehow it's your fault they haven't delivered what you paid for. Calling the store is a pain in the rear because the phone rings and rings, or you get looped around without actually speaking to the person you need. read more
