I saw the reviews on here and thought to give these guys a shot. So my ice maker in my refrigerator recently stopped working. I reached out on here to Applifix and they contacted me immediately. They were able to bring a technician out that evening (I believe his name was Mamoud). The technician did a few diagnostics to figure out the issue. The whole time he was going through it, he explained to me what he was observing so it helped me to understand what potential issues were happening. He was finally able to see that the wiring on my freezer had severed from wear and tear, he repair those. The next morning, we woke up to a basket full of ice. Applifix exceeded my expectations. They came on the weekend and let me know that I would need a new motor. They showed me pricing directly from the web. They texted and asked if the ice maker had come back online, hoping that I would not need a new motor. However, I did need a new motor, and they came on Monday to replace it. They checked in again to make sure the ice maker was working. I let them know the repair worked and all is well. My only reason for holding back a star is that it wasn't clear that the cost would more than the diagnosis charge plus the cost of the part itself. I was calculating on the basis of diagnosis fee plus cost of the part which $150 less than what the final cost turned out to be. However, the service was excellent. read more

They worked on what they could, and simply charged me the diagnosis fee. However, I found out that I had a bigger problem than I had anticipated and they can handle. Under the pretense of a low service fee he came to diagnose my dryer's overheating issues. We discovered the vent was disconnected. He quoted $280 to fit the vent to the back of the dryer. Being desperate to get it fixed we accepted, unknowing of what effort it will take. They didn't even have to take the dryer out of the closet, it took them 10min. It was the most expensive service I ever received for the value we got. I will let the reader decide if fixing an issue with tape is worth $280. Now they want me to pay them again for cleaning the back of the dryer since the dryer vent attachment did not resolve my problem. read more

I had a great experience with this company! After my washer lost power mid-cycle the night before a holiday, they were able to come by and diagnose the problem that evening. They sourced a hard-to-find part and came and installed it when it arrived a few days later. The repair, on a washer that had a heavy dryer stacked on top, took barely half an hour. Very prompt service and fair price for the initial visit. The technician, Massaud, was very nice and respectful but was better suited for demolition work than appliance repair. The stove still doesn't work and after he left I found 2 screws on the floor that weren't put back in, one screw that was put in where it didn't belong (as it is hanging very loose and can't tighten) and watched him wrench in another screw where it obviously didn't fit. I don't think he knew much about appliance repair as his way of tracking down the problem was to unplug each electrical connection in the back while I kept plugging the range back in to see if the breaker tripped again. After over an hour, we did finally ascertain that the problem laid with one connection to the lower igniter, but they wanted to charge me $200 and had to wait 3 days for a part I can get from Amazon for $30 in one day. I told him that if he couldn't get an igniter for under $50, to cancel the service and he said he would check around and let me know. 4 days later and I never heard back from him one way or the other. I will not use Applifix again. read more
