    Absolute rip off. They changed the date without my consent and when I canceled upon receiving the…read morenotification, they tried to keep $50 as an admin fee. First - We had a few date discussions but selection could not be made until after deposit was paid. Once deposit was given, I asked for one date change, with a week notice, which we went back and forth on due to them not working Fridays. Second - No where in the estimate or any other communication, written or verbal, did they convey any admin fees other than actual paint related. Third - As I was moving into a new home from out of state, the painting date had to be moved to accommodate furniture placement. This was only done with their consent (one time) and at the time of request, I told them any day a particular week would work. They confirmed the change to 14 Sept. However, approximately a week and half later, as we approached the date, I received a confirmation for 15 Sept. I immediately reached out and said the date was 14. Ms. Jathiya responded that yes but since I stated any day that week (over a week ago) they took the liberty of changing the date. I explained that a lot has happened since you confirmed the 14th with work so I couldn't accommodate the 15th due to me planning meetings around the 14th. With COVID, work schedules have been crazy and trying to coordinate availability for multiple peers is difficult so to move a few days before wasn't possible. Anyway I asked for a deposit ($750) refund so that I could find someone else to paint. They agreed. Nearly three weeks later I didn't see the credit on my Amex. I reached out and Jathiya stated she'll get right on it. Well she sends me a receipt and it's for $700! I'm like what the heck. I call and she proceeds to tell me there are admin fees. I replied that you can't charge fees that the customer didn't know about nor agree to. Additionally you changed the date. She replied that the date was changed a few times, I said once, that was agreed to by both parties. She kept talking and I was done. I'm disputing this madness. After receipt of copies of the written estimate and email conversation, Amex refunded the full amount of $750. BEWARE OF THESE FOLKS!!!!!!

Peppermint gave us a good bid, booked us promptly, handled the payment smoothly online, and did great work. They have excellent Covid precautions, and everyone wore masks the entire time, which I'm sure makes for uncomfortable working conditions, but it saves me fretting of everyone's safety, theirs and ours. The room looks terrific, and we will definitely hire them again.

With gas prices being a record high along with the temperature today I was reluctant to come back. But she definitely made what I thought was gonna be a headache a stress free educational experience for this consumer. Not only was she friendly and knowledgeable, she made sure I was comfortable with the information she provided and allowed space for me to ask follow up questions without ever getting impatient or frustrated with me. She took care with my items and gave suggestions for other items that would complement my purchase which I did purchase. I wish the store had a a full staff of Erika's.     I had a very unprofessional experience at Home Depot. I went in looking for a cap for a screw for…read moremy exercise bike and was directed to aisle 14. However, there was no one available to assist in that aisle. There were three of us needing assistance, but none was provided. I went to the customer service desk twice to request assistance in aisle 14, but no one came. Ultimately, I spent 45 minutes finding a cap for my screw by myself. The cashier opened the two bags I brought to the register to ensure I wasn't accused of theft. This situation was highly unsatisfactory. It should not take 45 minutes, or even 30 minutes, to receive assistance. There should be a sales associate available in every aisle, especially after requesting help from customer service.

    RUN!!!!! Jermaine oversells himself, does shoddy work, when question about the quality gets irate…read moreand disrespectful, and say "he's doing me a favor". I never met this man prior to him doing work in my home. He wouldn't give me an invoice after several requests but continued to text me. He did not properly prep my walls I peeked the evening he left and when I mentioned it the next morning he replied "oh I ran out but I'm at the store getting more tape for the drywall", had splotches of paint and told me he'd have to charge me more money to fix the paint, tore out a larger section of my wall than he was supposed to and yelled at me because I wanted him to fix it correctly and add the baseboard, he told me that he didn't charge me for that and he would have to charge me more money and because "he's been there all day". Told me he could fix the install towel rack then we he was trying to wrap up stayed that "he couldn't do it (know how) and he didn't have took to do it", even after he told me during the consultation that he could, put up a new towel ring but created new holes instead of using the current ones and didn't bother to plaster the old ones, was supposed to replace the board under my sink....well the collapsed when I put the slightest pressure on it, said he could fix my dishwasher's lock mechanism, guess what he says the next day he didn't know how....it gets better I step out and come back only to see my dishwasher pulled apart, he gave up and said the new piece is I. There but I don't know it could be something simple, I'm not good with dishwashers , the list goes on. He rushed through the work and then tried to imply that I didn't want to pay him, which is not the case, and charged that I'm "crying over a little bit ass money" and yelling "you don't know me" as if to infer he'd do something. I tried to explain that I had no problems paying him but that I can't pay for incomplete and shoddy work. I could go on and on and if I could give him negative stars I would! AGAIN I SAY....RUN and RUN FASTER. He's been calling me, then gets irate and starts telling, then hangs up, called my husband several times, then calls me back asking me what am I going to do but he has yet to address the issues or come to some sort of middle ground so we could be done and get out of each other's hair. I even said let's call a third party to look at the work it out and he got upset again yelling. I had another painter come and at least repaint the areas but there's are quite a few imperfections in the wall and ceiling and I hope it holds up. This literally has taken place over the last couple days and I'm disappointed that I allowed myself to be misled by this guy. I may had to get law enforcement involved if he continues to call. I'm stressed, nervous, and out of more unnecessary money because of this guy!!!!!

We hired him to do some touch up painting in our…read morehouse because we were preparing for a lead paint inspection so we can become foster parents. After calling numerous people on DC's list of contractors certified in lead-safe practices and being told "no, we don't do residential properties," "we only work in vacant properties," etc, we were delighted to find someone willing to do the job. Jermaine came to give us an estimate and seemed to be knowledgable about what we needed to address, how it could be done and confident that he could do the job. We were especially pleased that he said he could paint our radiators without having a plumber come in to move them. I was skeptical, but he assured me--he had special rollers, etc that could get in there. He was a professional and had done this before. He gave us an estimate that included covering everything in plastic and HEPA vacuuming. But it all started to fall apart the day the work was supposed to start. There were minor issues such as arriving several hours late. But the bigger concerns were things like--he only used 2 small pieces of plastic, which he never taped to anything, we didn't see any plastic on day 2, he brought a HEPA vacuum but never used it after the work was done, and he was belligerent and hostile towards us whenever we tried to put things back on track. I was literally afraid to be in my own house. He refused to respect the contract and argued with items that were in there. When I told him he hadn't finished painting the radiators, he told me that he could only paint the parts he could reach--he didn't have any special way to do more. Of course, by the time things escalated to that level our house was torn apart and we were torn between just stopping everything and trying to get things put back together as much as possible. Jermaine clearly no longer cared about doing a quality job and some of our property was damaged. We were just trying to get him out of our house as soon as possible. We paid him, even though he had come nowhere close to meeting the terms of the contract. We were up well into the night cleaning up paint and dust ourselves--this after we had specifically hired him for lead paint interim controls.
