We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

When I arrived, a kind woman answered all my questions and walked me over to find exactly what I was looking for instead of just pointing me in the right direction. After I paid, a young man walked me to my car and loaded my plants neatly with a bag to keep everything clean. What meant the most to me as someone starting their very first garden is that no one made me feel silly for being a beginner. They were patient, encouraging, and genuinely helpful. That kind of welcoming environment makes all the difference when you're just learning. I will absolutely be back. Highly recommend to anyone, especially first time gardeners looking for a place that truly cares about its customers.

The only place to get plants!…read more I have been purchasing Christmas trees from Ed's Plant World for years now. They make it quick, easy, and convenient. They're also incredibly informative and helpful. I recently purchased some herbs from Ed's and their team meets you at the entrance to try to guide and assist you. It's a nice touch. Once you move on to the area where the herbs are, other folks will assist you there as well. Additionally, the selection of herbs is superior and more varied than what you'd find in the nearby home stores. Ed's also carries a ton of flowers - fortunately they are around to answer questions because the selection can be overwhelming. Bottom line: there is no better place in the area for landscape that beats Ed's. Even for Christmas trees or herbs.

Very disappointing experience at Lowe's tonight. I came to this location specifically to purchase…read morewood and have it cut. Before buying anything, I asked Lashawn at the returns area if they were still cutting wood, and she told me yes. Based on that, I purchased the wood and went to the cutting area. As I was walking toward the area, the associate who appeared to be responsible for cutting the wood walked away. Another associate was kind enough to call for him to come assist us, but after about 15 minutes, no one showed up. I then called the store myself, and Lashawn answered. I explained that I was still waiting, and she made another announcement over the intercom. I waited another 10 minutes and still received no assistance. After roughly 25 minutes of waiting, I finally gave up and returned the wood for a refund. What made the situation worse was the lack of concern afterward. Lashawn knew how long I had been waiting, yet there was no apology or attempt to make the situation right. Instead, I was told the associate might have been on lunch and that his phone may have been on Do Not Disturb. I completely understand that employees need breaks, but if no one was available to cut wood, I should have been told that BEFORE I made the purchase. If the service wasn't actually available, why tell me that it was? I was also surprised to learn that Lashawn was a front-end supervisor. I expected better communication and customer service from someone in a supervisory position. I wasted my time, made a purchase based on incorrect information, waited around for assistance that never came, and ultimately had to return everything. A simple apology and some accountability would have gone a long way. Very frustrating experience tonight.
