My hibiscus from old city green

Very convenient place since they are right in the city. Especially, they are open until 7.30 during the work week. I can leave work at 6 pm in georgetown and still make it! When one of the plants I bought from them died, the owner was kind enough to let me bring it to change. They are really cool. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back there again to get my next plant!

I love this space and the idea of converting an unused lot into a garden center. I came here for a community garden fundraiser and they converted the space into a great venue to host an event. Tiki torches lit up the space and all the plants are arranged to create nice nooks for different groups of people to sit. The weather was perfect at night, cool but not cold. And people brought food to share and we all munched on a great assortment of dishes. I'd love to come back to to check out the garden supplies they sell. They had a nice selection of plants, flowers, and vegetable seedlings.

The abundance of vegetables from an early summer CSA share picked up from the friendly folks at old city farm & guild!

I come here to pick up my weekly fruit and vegetable CSA shares and, since I'm already there, browse the plants and other offerings. The place is a great community gathering spot. They host a variety of community oriented events and make it easier to meet your neighbors. There's always open street parking on Thursday afternoons when I come to pick up my shares. Since I started picking up my shares in late spring, there have been a few people who have been on-site to help with the check-in process. They've always been unbelievable nice, knowledgeable and incredible accommodating.

    6-7 ft Christmas Trees

We were in search of some places that sold Christmas Trees in the city and I drove past this one a couple days before. Came here on Sunday and saw that they had a bunch of trees to choose from. The lady that helped us was so friendly, nice and helpful. We got a 6 foot Fraiser and had her trim it down on the top and bottom. The tree cost a little more than I had anticipated ($59.95, but I guess that's what you pay when shopping at a locally owned garden shop). They also have shorter and taller trees (for more and less). I even saw real mistletoe! lol Since the lady was so friendly and helpful we gave her a nice tip!

There can be a wait to be checked out however it's understandable. Other folks are seeking excellent seedlings, shrubs, trees, etc., like I am. It's a drive for me, living in DC, but I do it. But no! WE are to call them, THEY determine delivery without letting you know and said they don't contact customer because they have too many deliveries, but they have an arranged delivery date! You know who else is busy but calls?! Mulch companies! So do car repair businesses, so do many companies that deliver anything, so do Doctors and Dentists. Sun wants to risk us being home? They want to chance leaving a very expensive tree in our front yard BY the road, since this is the final destination. They are not too busy to SELL the tree, but don't ask for any other customer service.

We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

I stopped by while walking around Eastern Market on a Sunday which, by the way, is an absolute must if you're in DC. Their customer service was great. Everyone was so sweet and chill, and honestly, I couldn't complain if I tried lol. I ended up buying a snake plant. Now, look, I am not a plant girly. I could kill a paper plant with very little effort lol. So I really appreciated that they included a cute little care card with my purchase. Considering this is my second snake plant and I technically only have one now (pray for my plant yall lol)... that card will definitely come in handy. What really earned them the five stars was their gesture of offering 22% off to customers during the shutdown. It might not seem like much, but it's something and it stood out, especially since many of the nearby shops weren't offering anything outside of full price.

There is an Incardi vending machine inside. Look it up. You get tokens from them to use there. But those tokens are to only be used at REWILD Capitol Hill only. This location is not to far off from a Metro station. A nice walkable distance.
