Amazing location to purchase a wide variety of beautiful native plants in the fall. They have…read moreGORGEOUS plants and the price is right - $10 for a quart and $15 for a gallon size plant, which is an amazing value for native species. Planting in the fall is the right time, so you want to shop now - they are open through the end of October. The staff is incredibly helpful as well - they will help you pick plants that will thrive based on your soil and sun/shade conditions. Need a workhorse for your flower bed? Get the goldenrod or sneezeweed - trust me! Love this nursery

We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

Ed's Plant World is exactly what a local nursery should be. I called ahead to check on availability…read moreand they actually walked into the greenhouse to look for me. That kind of service is rare. When I arrived, a kind woman answered all my questions and walked me over to find exactly what I was looking for instead of just pointing me in the right direction. After I paid, a young man walked me to my car and loaded my plants neatly with a bag to keep everything clean. What meant the most to me as someone starting their very first garden is that no one made me feel silly for being a beginner. They were patient, encouraging, and genuinely helpful. That kind of welcoming environment makes all the difference when you're just learning. I will absolutely be back. Highly recommend to anyone, especially first time gardeners looking for a place that truly cares about its customers.

I sent another email with pictures of the dead shrubs and asked someone to call me to discuss, but I never received a call. I did, however, receive an email from Crystal which stated that they do not warranty their replacements, so I would have to purchase another pair and pay the $100 installation and $45 delivery fees. I called and spoke to Siri, who reiterated what Crystal stated in the email but offered me 20% off the purchase price. However, accepting the discount would void my warranty. I would still be responsible for the $100 installation and the $45 delivery fee, a fee I had just paid a second time to have the first set of bushes replaced! I've purchased several bushes, plants, and trees from Ed's over the years and was absolutely dumbfounded by the rude and dismissive way I was treated. So let this review be a cautionary tale for anyone considering doing business with Ed's Plant World. It's a crapshoot. Your shrubs may last a few months or a few weeks, and if you have the gall to ask for some consideration, even as a long-time customer, your request will be met with indifference. Please know that there are plenty of other nurseries in the area. Before you make ANY purchases from Ed's Plant World, shop around to see if you can find what you're looking for elsewhere. You'll save yourself a lot of money and headache.
