Located right above Bar Charley, PLNTR is a plant boutique and interior plant design company that's been around since 2020. Not only do they have a vast selection of plants, cacti, and pots available to customers, they also host workshops like pressed flower collages and framed moss art. I've purchased a few different local plants and cacti over the years and I have never had any issues with them. Prices vary, but from my experience, it's worth the value, as I've purchased at other places and the plants/cacti/ succulents are infested with pests. The owners here are awesome. They have helped me pick out a gift and guided me around the store telling me what would be good for someone who isn't the biggest into plants. They also have helped me repot some of my own cuttings we're very generous with their time and info they gave me while doing it all for me! It is a great spot to buy a gift or cute plants. The coffee shop is very small and quaint and I do see people in there on their laptops, such a cute idea for the space. I'll be back for sure! read more

I love the vibe at this beautiful store. Take the stairs up and you'll see plants in nearly every corner, - at least those perfect for indoor settings. I come here to also get ideas and inspirations. They also have a communal wooden table for workshops. In another room, there was a pop-up coffee & tea bar too which was nice, although they only served drip coffee and not the espresso types. The prices of things were decent, and the service friendly too. I would likely return often whenever I'm walking by. read more

An AMAZING plant shop in DC proper! Glad I found it randomly via an Instagram post (and the coffee shop inside it!) Made a plan to go visit for coffee and do some work there, and also knew I'd buy a plant or two if I saw any that caught my eye (I did!). The staff were very kind and helpful - they let me know they were happy to answer any questions, and I heard them being incredibly helpful to others who asked them many things. Love that! I have a lottttt of plants so I didn't have any questions at the time, but I was glad to know how supportive staff were Prices: DC area... often is where we find overpriced things. I avoid many plant shops in DC proper for this reason (unfortunately!). I was therefore SUPER excited to discover their prices are very reasonable - prices that I expect cheaper plants to be, and prices I expect the more "rare" plants to be. A rooted and potted Thai Monstera with many leaves for example was $80-$90 - great price! I know the competition for these went down with Costa Farms selling them en mass now, but that still aren't "cheap" and this price was really good pricing , in my opinion, for an I think, 6 inch pot. I like local spots obviously making enough money to be able to exist, but also appreciate when the products range in price appropriately. They also had LARGE plants too: all beautiful And the plants looked well taken care of. This seems a silly thing to say, but a shop near me doesn't water its plants consistently and it shows in the leaves (or the leaves fighting to actually come out :( ). I recently had the pleasure of visiting Plntr while plant sitting for a friend. The plants I was caring for were not looking their best, and I was feeling anxious about them. Upon entering the shop, I was greeted by Dr. Claudine (as I now fondly think of her!). She listened attentively as I explained the situation, asking caring and detailed questions: how long I had been caring for the plants, my watering routine, the names of the plants, and how they were stored. I even showed her pictures of the plants. She suggested it would be best to bring the plants in, and provided me with a bag to transport them safely. Within 20 minutes of returning to the shop, Dr. Claudine examined each plant, trimmed and watered them, and reassured me that they would recover. I honestly don't know how to thank her enough. For anyone struggling with plant care or in need of guidance, please stop by Plntr and see Dr. Claudine -- she will sort you and your plants out with care, expertise, and patience. The woman is very rude. She is not knowledgeable, but very condescending. I went in wanting a specific plant. She told me I was incorrect re the genus & species and then proceeded to show me exactly what I asked for (there was a label on the container indicating it was what I asked for). read more
