As I pulled in two staffs were helping other customers, one of them looked at me with a smile and said "Hello". Already starting to like the place. I was literally awed with the collection and variety of hanging baskets. Every single plats there looked healthy and being taken care of. I dislike the nurseries that doesn't water their plants enough. It really shows these plants are well treated. I simply could not make up my mind and also could not believe the prices. The baskets that were in sale for $34.95, I paid more than $50 in other nurseries. Whoever designs these baskets needs a award. I picked two beautiful baskets. I went home and gave one to my friend and neighbor. Couple of days later on Sunday I woke up and felt the need to go back and get two more for the pavilion. Spent over an hour to decide again. Two younger staffs that were stoking plants stopped what they were doing and happily answered all my questions. They even offered to carry and help me with the baskets. How wonderful! We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

I asked the person who was working that area a few question on which one would be the best to plant and she very vague and stand offish. It's felt like I was bothering her. If she didn't have any information on the questions I asked she could have pointed me to the right person. A month later I had tried to return the one tree I had bought and thought that I would be able to exchange or at least get store credit. I followed all the steps that is on the website about returning a product. The person at the Customer service return counter made me feel it was my fault that the tree was not doing well after I planted it. She said and I quote "We can not help every person who comes in here". Isn't that part of running a good business? The day I was there was not a busy day.

Had three unreturned voicemails, dragged my toddler and newborn in the freezing cold last Saturday (only day they're open) to meet w them since they don't return calls, and set up a site visit so they could assess our property. This site visit was supposed to be today between 11-1, and at 12:45 pm, still no call ahead to say they're in the way. The guy who answered the phone at their other location said "Oh that happens all the time" regarding the late or missed appointment. Asked him to call me back when he got in touch w his driver, whom he was apparently unable to reach at that time as well. Still no call back and no nobody is picking up the phones over there (during business hours) and now the vm box is full. I'm sick of practically begging these guys to take our money (and in the middle of a terrible economy due to Covid, no less). Clearly they don't need or want our business, so now we are looking to take our money elsewhere. I understand they likely cut staff due to Covid economics, but clearly too many were cut bc they can't handle the customers.
