I called and asked if I could bring in a piece of wood to be cut and was told I could only to arrive and find out their saw was out of order and has been for over two months. I asked an associate for help he points to a hand saw station "...for [me] to do it myself ". At that point I gave up on the wood and head to get paint where I'm told the paint brand I want is not in stock in gallon or sample size. And to be quite honest, these guys over the years, have come up with a well-thought-out setup. Prices are also real cool and a few $s less- compared to Hawthorne- closer to me. My Mom got a good hold of a few Perennial flowers for the front of her house as well as a few others for the backyard. And by the way...aside from the never-ending construction nearby, it was easy to maneuver in and out. Even for midday Saturday afternoon, there weren't crowds and parking lot was civil. read more

I'd say Its best to get there early a.m. if you can to avoid the influx of Home Improvers, so you can get what you need and be out in a breeze. One line forms for socially distanced Self-Checkout and I've noticed with the unfortunate help of Covid, as with most places recently, checkout lines have been more efficient and organized lately. Parking can be a hassle at times with all of the Construction Vans/Trucks constantly coming in and out of the parking area, but that's the nature of The Home Depot and its always best to park farthest away from the entryway of the store if you can manage. I've had no issues during my many visits here, so 5 stars goes to them for service, efficiency and product availability. read more

I ordered a grill online for a family function with assembly. The person who was suppose to assemble grill has not gone to work in 4 days. So, no grill no family function. I went to buy a BOX of 3mil construction bags, I went to the express checkout to pay for the item I think it was 2nd or 3rd aisle, I completed the purchase but the receipt didn't come out. So I saw a sale attendant I asked her for help, So I told her I paid for the item but the receipt didn't come out, in her nasty Voice and shook her head right to left and asked me DID YOU "REALLY" PAY FOR THE ITEM! If you are ever in the building materials section - ASK FOR RYAN! Trust me, you want to read this review. By far the best experience I've EVER had at a Home Depot. I was greeted while looking lost in an aisle, and the friendly gentleman explained that he couldn't help me with my project since he wasn't familiar with wood supplies and building BUT he directed me to one specific person in the Building Materials section - Ryan. Ryan was such a breath of fresh air to deal with. He patiently listened to all of the ideas I had (while trying to decipher what I meant since my terminology was way off lol). He made sure that he understood exactly what I wanted, and then presented me with every option that fit my budget. He was even able to explain all the little differences so that I could really make an informed decision! Ryan encouraged me to take pictures of the SKU numbers so I could come back and know exactly what to get, and helped me find the most cost efficient way to put my outdoor cat house project together. I really wish every experience at Home Depot could be this great - where a patient and knowledgeable employee really listens and actually gives this much effort. Beware of the employee in the photo I posted. He is not only willing to fight a customer but ready to fight a woman customer. His name is Charles, D28 is his employee ID. On this day, today, he was standing by the back exit checking receipts. This person is looking for trouble and will jump at the chance for any sort of confrontation but will refuse to offer or provide help if he is asked. He is rude with a really nasty disposition and I advise any and everyone to double the social distance rules if you come into contact with him. He's a loose cannon and should be considered dangerous and kept away from the general public. I very kindly asked him to watch my lumber cart for 2 minutes so I could put my elderly father into my car as he was tired, in some pain and was very agitated. My father wanted to leave and I needed to get him out of there. Charles replied "I can't guarantee it's going to be there when you get back". I was surprised by that answer but again stated I would only be 2 minutes, just going into the lot to escort my father into my car. He again said he could not guarantee it will be there. pretty much telling me he would not secure my merchandise for me. I'd been there for over an hour getting wood for shelving cut and I didn't want to take the chance of anyone taking the lumber cart, thinking it was abandoned. If you've ever needed a lumber cart at Home Depot, you know they are hard to get your hands on. So, I said fine, then I'll take it with me and come back and pay for it and I told him he could follow me if he wanted to. I was going to secure my own merchandise,,,,inside the store. I never left the store, since I couldn't get assistance from Charles. Now, this is when he woke up and was ready to attack. He marched over to me, grabbed the lumber cart and said I can't let you leave with this cart. He actually tussled with me over the cart. I pulled the cart and he was pulling it as well, he put his foot on it and was ready for a fight. The irony of all of this is that I asked him to perform a simple function that required no physical energy or any energy at all really,,, and he refused... but when he saw an opportunity to be combative, he was more than willing to participate. I then asked him for his manager, he yelled at me "I'm the manager!" I yelled back, " there is no way you're a manager behaving the way you're behaving" And of course he was lying because someone went to get the actual manager. As the manager, Pablo, approached me, he could see I was upset and I asked him, are you the manager, he said yes, I then asked if Charles was a manger, he said Charles was one of his supervisors...but if you're in service and a customer asks to speak with the manager, you get the manager,,, you don't lie and say that you're the manager... anyway, as I was explaining what had just happened, upset obviously, my father was still there, he is now even more aggravated...Charles presence was not needed, but he was still hanging around and yelling and acting crazy,,, even in front of his manager!!! I told Charles to go away, he wouldn't, I called him a "b*#ch", yes I know it wasn't the most mature thing to do but at the moment, it just came out as he continued to escalate the situation... Charles turned his head as other workers were trying to force him to leave the area,,, he was resistant .. he wanted to stay and fight..., so he turned his head and he said "bitch?" ,he then proceeded to aggressively approach me as if he was going to strike me, he lunged toward me, his coworkers and manager had to hold him back and literally drag him away...as he was verbalizing threats at me. If they were not there I believe he would have physically attacked me. They had to hold him back... can you imagine? I can't believe someone, especially at work, in a customer oriented job at that... would behave that way. this could have been avoided and it was unnecessary. The absolute worst Home Depot, I went in to buy a new toilet bowl and walked out after my receipt was checked by security and when I got to my car and was opening the trunk, three "security guards" ran and asked me "what do i have in the box".....keep in mind the box was sealed with a brand new toilet bowl in it. They then said "you know what time it is, you know where you going and what you did" I told them I just purchased the toilet bowl and showed my receipt....the "security guards" decided to break the sealed box open because they thought I stole something and placed it into the box. After breaking the box, they walked away and left the box open and did not say one word. Are you kidding me???? I went back inside and asked for the names of the "security guards" and the manager refused to provide me with their names and said the security is hired from an outside agency. Before you begin the "lame Pedro" chants, I had to go with my contractor friend after work to get necessary parts in order to finish one of several bathroom remodels. It had to be done. If I am correct, the Zerega Avenue location closed down and moved here. Therefore this location is relatively new. For home owners and land lords, you can come here and find almost anything in terms of home improvement. Here are a few highlights: Good: + Store associates, if you grab one, can be very, very courteous and helpful. On one occasion, Dawna, a store associate, saw I was buying an entire bathroom. She ended up staying with me, answering my questions and making sure I left with everything I needed/wanted. + There is so much "free knowledge" floating around this place besides literature. Just walk in and say, "hey, I want to retile my floor" and an associate will find you the right person to help. In addition, he/she will help you get all the toys you need. + I have seen a few of the baddest, I mean baddest badadonk-a-donks strutting in the aisles. Wow. I mean "Wreckx-n-Effect Rump Shaker" wow. Bad: - Parking lot is almost always full. I've come at different times of the day, too. - Checkout lines can be rough. - Inventory of sale items depletes quickly. - After you are finished with your shopping cart, there is no good place to return it. These five stars are for Trevor in the paint department. I wanted to stain a used fish tank cabinet. I didn't have any experience doing this but I had an idea of what I wanted the finished look to be. One employee tried to be helpful by explaining what the different paints do but upon explaining that I wanted to keep the wood patterns visible he told me I was the first person ever to say that and kinda laughed. It made me discouraged and doubtful as to what I thought I wanted. Would it look right? Would I be wasting my money? I was almost in tears. My husband saw how disappointed I looked and asked if there was someone else that could assist us. Trevor was the guy we should ask for the employee said and walked away. Well Trevor was amazing! He heard what I wanted to accomplish, explained the processes of each type of paint or stain and after showing him my cabinet project he suggested which product would give me the desired look and options for if I wasn't happy with the outcome. I cannot tell you just by this post how horrible this location is. Just to give you an example I was in there tonight January 14, 2018to look for a faucet. Believe me when I tell you no one not one person is there to help you. In fact if a sales associate sees you they will purposely avoid eye contact and hurry along the other way I am not even kidding. Since I couldn't find anyone to help I saw one guy with the Home Depot apron on started to ask him a question and he told me that I had to look for the guy in that section and he walked away. I then started to open up all of the boxes of the faucets I was looking at because nobody would answer any questions so I had to see for myself what was inside the box. As I was opening up the boxes Home Depot workers walked right past me didn't say a word didn't tell me not to do that just walked right by. I finally found what I was looking for after opening 3 boxes (as employees watched and didn't say a word and just watched me open up box after box of new products leaving them there on the floor after I was done) I took the box to the register and of course there was only 1 checkout person who walked away from the register as soon as I got there to get something --he did come back a minute later and was the most unfriendly sob I ever met .... My take away this place sucks because of the employees ,they do nothing to help you at all . This is, by and far, my favorite Home Depot in the five boroughs of New York City. Let me first get the negatives of this location out of the way. The parking lot is really tight and busy. If you're loading particularly heavy things, getting a convenient parking space is going to be difficult. And once you're ready to leave, there are people loitering there who will impose themselves to help you load your vehicle, looking for tips, jobs or both. That being said, it's a flagship Home Depot location that is well stocked. Not only that, but it's clean! The best thing about this Home Depot is the service. The aisle guys are always available to help you. In Jericho Home Depot for example, the aisle employees start running away if you need help. Here it's the pleasant opposite; they are available AND they know their stuff. They are also very efficient if you need extra help like loading a full skid of Sheetrock into your van. I showed the forklift guy my receipt for 34 pieces of Sheetrock and they had all the Sheetrock in my vehicle in 15 minutes. The only other Home Depot with that kind of service is Huntington, but this Bruckner location is more busy so they are doing very well! While I don't like the schlep all the way to Bruckner, this is a great, solid Home Depot that is a credit to its namesake. read more

The only reason why I will most definitely come back to this location is for: A: The Price. B: The Location. It is a mere 3 express stops from Hunt's Point. I got shelving parts for my shelf unit that I bought at IKEA for under $30. Normally this shelf unit goes for $100, but I got it at 75% off. This is why. The shell was easy to put together. The door is nice, but didn't have the hardware. So I made my way down here on my day off and was able to find the hardware. The staff hang out quite a bit and when you ask for help, they act all "pure, clear, and undefiled" and point their finger in the air and tell you without looking at you, "I'LL be RIGHT with you." After going through this with 3 employees. I went ahead and found the 1 x 12 2nd grade wood I needed for my shelves. I went to cross cut the difference. I needed 10.5" in width, they only had 9" and 12" wood. The cross cut saw didn't even work. So I found a handsaw customers can use to cut their finishing strips. I needed each 10' board cut into 4 pieces each of 13.5", so I asked 2 more employees to help me. But they were busy...talkin to their...people. So by the time I got back to the table saw, ANOTHER employee was there cutting 2 pieces for a customer. So I measured out the pieces as I waited. The employee shut down the saw, looked at me measuring, and went on his way. I stopped him and asked him to cut my pieces. He was ready to turn on the saw, but another one of "his people" asked him for help. So he took off. I went up to a final employee and asked if he was able to cut wood. He said yes. The only way now to get their attention is to challenge them like as if I am a gangster. So he said he would be right with me. The guy he was talking to asked what "tribe" I was from. I said, "Like it makes a difference." He told me he was...whatever he was. Blue eyes and not even close to my appearance. So I said, "Actually, I don't have time to talk about me or you, I just need some cuts. So I will wait by the saw." The employee nodded yes and as I walked away, the employee said something quietly to his buddy and they both laughed loud. He came within 2 minutes and cut the wood specified. He missed 2 by about 1/4 inch. I had to go to the finishing strip area and manually cross cut the pieces again. 8 pieces at 13.5" in length each. By the time I was done, I looked around and about a dozen people went on their way at once, pretending not to have been looking. Good sweat though. I think they were shocked that someone could actually work so hard so fast. This store is a symbol of why we are in a recession. People act all "pure, clear, and undefiled" and act like they are all that. Very few take pride in their work. My visit on my day off to The Home Depot proved this true. Perhaps one day people will start taking pride in their work like enough of us do to keep this economy going. I will return, and I will get it done. For nobody else will. read more

I want to put zero stars but it doesn't allow that. There is absolutely NO CUSTOM SERVICE at this location! I waited over an hour for someone to come into the tile section and they never came.
