ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDINGLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HOME DEPOT!vAm four months into trying to get Home Depot to honor a warrantly on a three year old refrigerator with the additional five year warranty that is freezing all the food in the refrigerator compartment. So far I have been to the Home Depot store a dozen times to deal with this. Even with proof of warranty and receipt in hand showing my original purchase and the credit card it was purchased with and which I still have and showed them it still took three hours to verify the purchase. Our address is the same as where it was delivered and we still live there- all confirmed yet it still took three hours. The repair techs have been out twice causing me to lose two entire days to being available for them to examine the refrigerator. After the first visit it was suggested we try a different setting which I agreed to. When I called to say the setting did not change anything I was told I had to start a new claim. OMG- so I start over and they come out again and said they needed to order parts. I hear nothing back for two weeks so I contact them and find out the part was not available at this time. Then I was informed by Maytag the part is not available until possibly 12/30/2022. Not acceptable. After three more calls to "store managers" who promised to call me back and get to the bottom of the situation, I have not heard back from anyone and am now on hold trying again for nineteen minutes at this time and still counting. IN the meanwhile I can keep no eggs, yogurt, vegetables that cannot be frozen, dairy, cheeses in the fridge. It is basically one big freezer at this point. ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDINGLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HOME DEPOT!Does it get any worse than this? read more

Do NOT order flooring from this store. It has been the worst experience. I placed a tile order at the beginning of April and didn't schedule with the contractor to install until the beginning of July. The store missed my scheduled delivery and told me it was never scheduled. Wasted my time while I waited at home. I spent days calling trying to figure out where my material was and was told the tile was on it's way (turns out that was a lie). They incorrectly scheduled the delivery of the backer board so my husband had to carry it all into the house. We had to call on the day of install to check the tile status and were informed that the tile hadn't even shipped to them yet. We ended up cancelling our whole order and now and they can't even figure out how to schedule someone to pick up the few materials that ever were delivered. I had to call the contractor to let them know the materials weren't being delivered and he said this has happened several times with this store. They've been very unprofessional and disrespectful to our time. read more

I agree the service desk should either be trained, or replaced with better qualified personnel. We spend tens of thousands at Home depot and have had negative encounters often. We placed a very large purchase through them and made absolutely sure we could make some returns. They placed the order for us and were annoyed by the number of times I asked about their return policy. Couple week later, the store manager refused to take back unused, unopened material, after promising they would. They gave us the run around. First I called, they said bring them to the store. Then I went to the pro desk with paper work only, they said go bring it all in. We hauled a ton of material into the store and 30 minutes later they made us haul it all back. Zero service, horrible attitude. We drove straight to Redmond Home Depot where we experienced a whole different kind of customer service and made a return without being treated like crap. They even unloaded everything for us. I suggest you do not make any large purchases at this location. If there are any complications, you will experience 3rd world customer service by under-trained and non caring workers. On another occasion I walk in with a piece of plumbing in my hand and start looking for an attachment. I did not ask for help but the genius offers his advice "don't waste your time, we don't have those". 3 minutes later I walked passed him with found item and said you did have it. He just rolls his eyes. On another occasion I ask where Teflon tape is and they show me. As I walk away I can hear a group of employees laughing and mocking me for not being able to find it on my own "It's right in front of you, why don't you open your eyes" read more

Absolutely understaffed and many employees just standing around not even acknowledging customers waiting and when asking for help.

This review is based on the customer service I received for a laminate flooring installation. Here are the reasons for the low review: 1. Getting these folks on the phone to schedule the delivery and installation dates was a huge pain. I should have taken this as a sign that they weren't interested in our business and gone elsewhere. But, as a new homeowner, I was too excited about the prospect of getting new floors installed to get this hint. 2. Home Depot scheduled our 3-day flooring installation for Christmas eve, Christmas day, and the day after--really?? We just moved into our new home and didn't have any big plans for those days, but still. The workers that showed up (one man and his bored teenage son) were nice, but I feel like having two experienced workers on the job would have gotten the work done faster. The installer was contracted by Home Depot to perform the install and was also not too keen on working on Christmas, and asked to come in on the 26th and 27th instead of Christmas day. OK, no problem. 3. I have never had flooring installed before, but the contractor ended up working past 10pm the last night he was scheduled to be there, and there are spots that we can tell were rushed. There are certain spots that, admittedly, have funny angles, but aren't covered by the moulding that was reinstalled. There was also a lot of dust left after the job. 4. The amount of materials Home Depot measured our floors for was incorrect, and we ended up having to return quarter round (which we didn't ask to be installed in the first place!) and other various items that totaled over $600. When we originally voiced our concerns over the type and cost of materials that were ordered for us, the folks we talked to in the store just told us we didn't have anything to worry about...talk about knowledgeable staff...I really wasn't happy about taking back such long items in a Camry. Lesson learned, Home Depot. I won't be coming by for anything like this anymore! read more

Came here to pick up some renovation items for my house and yard, and every department I went to had very helpful and educated staff! I really appreciated their input and advice on what products and tools I really needed, and also what products I thought I needed that I really didnt need. Thanks Home Depot! read more

I have had increasingly bad experiences with this Home Depot in Bothell, I have asked for quotes on fence installation and have not heard from anyone after 5 days. I can never find someone to help me with expertise on a topic (I think staffing may be short or something) and the paint counter always seems overwhelmed. I asked for closet installation and waited 15 minutes before walking off. I made an apt to have a quote done at my house for cabinet resurfacing & bathroom remodel and was stood up! I will only go here for small items I don't need help or customer service for. read more

This is not a review of Home Depot but of their idiot (sub contracted) carpet installers. We were in a bind and needed to get our parents house carpeted and new vinyl installed immediately. Our dad had moved to an Assisted Living Facility and our mom was dying of cancer so their house was being put on the market ASAP. We explained that need for speed and selected the IN STOCK carpet and vinyl. We were then told that the carpet "should really be ordered together for the color lot to match and that would take 2 weeks". We were hesitant but then agreed. 2 weeks came and went so we called them only to be told that NOTHING HAD BEEN ORDERED YET. These dumbasses then said, "Oh, we needed a credit card to order it." NO ONE ever asked for one, the first we heard of it was 2 weeks later after NOTHING was ordered. This was after we paid $55 for them to come and measure the rooms, so they had our credit card on file anyway. After being effed over by the stupid Home Depot's carpet "installers", I canceled the order and called Flynn's Carpet Cents. Their employee said he could come over and (re) measure the rooms in 15 minutes FOR FREE. 15 minutes. I couldn't believe my luck. Sure enough, I met him at the house and the entire job was completed in a few days. It was perfect and the whole house looks brand new... **It should be noted that the actual Home Depot in Bothell DID refund my $55 after I explained to them my experience with the shit sandwiches they call installers.** read more

Be careful if you are buying appliances from Home Depot. The sales staff don't always know what they are talking about. We purchased a dishwasher from them and when the guys (not Home Depot employees) came to install it, we had been sold the wrong install kit so we ended up installing it ourselves. The only good thing about that was we got our money back for the install and the kit, but it was a giant pain in the a**. read more

I purchased a kitchen aid dishwasher and paid to have it delivered and installed. The first appointment they could give me was two weeks in advance. I told them I had a dinner party that night and they needed to be done by 5 pm. One the day it was to be installed they delivered the dishwasher and put it in the center of my kitchen and then told me that I needed to call someone else to have it installed that they were only the delivery people. I had to have a thirty person dinner party with a dishwasher sitting in my kitchen and no way to wash dishes. When I called the store they were extremely unhelpful and passed the buck and blamed the associate that sold me the dishwasher. I called the installers, the delivery people, the store, the store manage, - and no install. After I called and requested to talk to the store manager they gave me a 100 credit and set up another date of install a week later. Today they were supposed to install the dishwasher and I have not even gotten a call from the installer. I have no time of install and no way to contact the installer. I have called the store over and over and just get put on hold. NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY FROM HOME DEPOT!!!!!! I paid 1200.00 dollars for a new top of the line kitchenaid dishwasher and installation and it is still sitting in the middle of my kitchen uninstalled. read more

This is our normal Home Depot location and have gone to it countless times throughout our home remodel. All of the individual interactions we've had have been positive. There are times when it's nearly impossible to find someone for help (hence the -1 star), but when you do, they are all very kind and accommodating. Today's interaction was especially pleasant with Bailey. He helped us load our online lumber purchase and was very patient and understanding when several of the boards weren't to our liking. He helped us locate and replace those boards with a smile on his face and pep in his step. Very kind young man. The other day we had three wonderful gentlemen helping us problem solve an issue with wall anchors being too short for our project (drilling through backsplash to hang floating shelves). The solution they helped us find worked great :) Leslie always has a smile on her face at self check out and is super sweet. All in all, the people are awesome! Just wish there were more of them ;) read more

The store is fine, but to get anyone to help you or even answer the phone is pretty rare. I don't blame the employees so much as they are probably understaffed. Lot of wasted time though... Then I bought a washer and dryer with the install. They make you buy a bunch of overpriced accessories you don't need to do the install and you can't return those accessories. Best Buy or Lowe's don't have this scammy practice. If you just need something quick and easy this place is fine but other than that go elsewhere. read more

Home Depot in Covington is best . Customer service employee are great

Horrible service. They came to deliver our washer, dryer, and fridge. They dropped the washer and the fridge was damaged. Told us they'll return them and we have to wait a week for new ones. Then delivery day comes and they only have a dryer, have no record of our other appliances. After phone calls they find the order and say it will be another 10 days before delivery. Really? Oh when we complained they told us where the nearest laundromat was. read more

My husband and I went into Home Depot this week to buy a patio set. It "only" took 1.5 hours to (almost) buy one. We kept looking for help, but everyone kept saying, "That's not my department." Really? Isn't customer service "your department?" After 25 minutes and walking all over the store, a kind cashier took pity on us and finally got someone to help. We told this person that we'd purchase the patio set if we could get a matching umbrella - and only if we could. (Why buy a brand new set if it's mismatched?) The person helping us told us that the matching umbrella was out of stock, but that we could buy the floor model. So we purchased the patio set and umbrella. Or at least we thought we did - I mean, Home Depot was happy to take my money and told me that I could come pick up my items "at will call" a few evenings later, as I couldn't fit them in my vehicle at the time and they were "getting another shipment of umbrellas to replenish their stock." When I returned to the store a few days later, as directed by their staff, I was informed that someone else had purchased the umbrella that I'd already purchased (um, what? Pretty sure they're not supposed to do that), and that the umbrella was now back ordered until June 1. That "Friday shipment?" apparently it didn't happen. So what am I supposed to do with half a set? Hope it doesn't rain for the next four weeks? I was impressed that they called me back tonight right before closing (at 9:57pm), but it was to inform me that I could have a tan umbrella for $75 off... Which would be a screamin' deal if the rest of my set was anywhere close to tan (it's not) or if I was in the market for a ghetto looking mismatched set. If I wanted that, I'd be trolling Craigslist, not paying full retail minus $75 to make me be quiet about them selling my purchase to another customer. We've spent about $15,000 at Home Depot in the last 13 months. After their apathy and incompetence, that's the last penny they'll ever see from us. read more

Rented me a defective pressure washer and then YELLED AT ME for taking too long to return it! Unbelievable! In all my life I've never been yelled at in retail. They implied that I was lying, and also tried to charge me for the rental, despite the fact that it never worked at all. No apology for the defective rental, for my wasted Sunday, or for the fact that I was yelled at. From the other reviews here, it appears that employees feel empowered to personally challenge and square up to customers, which is very dangerous and will eventually result in a lawsuit. If you're considering using this Home Depot for a bathroom or kitchen remodel, please take the time to read this. This review applies to both Home Depot and their contractors, NorWest Kitchen & Remodel and Precision Countertops. We met with Anthony, one of Home Depot's interior designers in April to plan a small (approximate 35 sq. ft.) bathroom remodel. Work entailed tile floors, a new floating custom cabinet/backsplash, medicine cabinet and a light fixture. What we thought would be a simple, straight forward job has been a total nightmare. The only things that have gone well with this project were the demo of the bathroom and the floor installation. We were charged a total of $970.00 for electrical work that didn't take place. The electrician came in and had no idea what he was supposed to do even though there was an onsite project folder present, he just simply installed the new light when he was actually supposed to relocate the light. We contacted Thorr with NorWest regarding this asking for a refund and were told they would have to pay $400 to cover costs and cancel the $250 electrical permit so that we would only receive $570 back. I have no problem with paying the electrician for the small amount of work he did, but we paid the $250 permit fee and want that money back since no invasive electrical work was done. We were also ripped off in the drywall work. We were charged $972 and all that was done was some texturing and some small hole repairs. We actually had to ask Thorr to send drywaller back and redo some real holes that he somehow missed. This delayed our project. No significant drywall installed and definitely not $972 worth of work done. Asked Thorr for a partial refund on that work as well - he said they're discussing a potential refund amount. We still have not received any money back. When it came time for Precision Countertops to come in and measure, it turns out the sink we ordered from Home Depot was the wrong one so we had to order a new one (delay #2). We then received a call from Aaron at Precision telling us that they wanted us to pay them an additional $250 because they had to send two guys out for measurements - yep, they charge $250 just to walk through the door! At this point, I called Home Depot since this was not our fault. Since Anthony is no longer at that store, I called customer service and was told someone would get back to me. Waited for a couple of hours and then called back and told customer service I needed to file a complaint - I was immediately transferred to someone. Spoke to John who proceeds to tell me that I should have come to him first. WTH!? I told him I have no idea who he is and he implies I'm lying because he supposedly sat with Anthony in the last couple of weeks he worked there. Well, I never met him! Anyway, he contacts Precision with a PO and the situation gets resolved. At this point, this is the third time our project has been delayed. Fast forward to plumbing on September 17 and had to send the plumber away because one of the parts to the faucet we ordered through Home Depot won't work and there's an issue with the height of the cabinet vs. the p-trap. Went to Home Depot for the part needed and of course, it had to be ordered online so there is delay #4 and more time and money wasted. I called customer service and asked for John directly this time (since he told me I should come to him first), left him a voicemail and have yet to hear back from him. Lovely. This project began on July 7 when the bathroom was demoed and it is still not complete. Our toilet sat on our back deck for 8 weeks because NorWest only wants to send their plumber out once. We finally got someone else to install the toilet but we still don't have a working sink in our bathroom. We paid $8,504 for this remodel and can't even get a simple phone call returned in a timely manner from Home Depot or NorWest when our project is held up. We have cancelled the installation of the medicine cabinet with NorWest because it won't fit since the light was never relocated. Their project management is questionable at best and we're owed refunds. Home Depot really needs to rethink working with this company. read more

Just wanted to express how helpful an associate was when we went to purchase a lawnmower. We had already ordered something on Amazon but then realized it wouldn't be ideal despite the nice bargain price. We went to this Home Depot and the man helping us wasn't pushy at all and still answered all of our questions and offered sound advice. He even matched the Amazon price for the same mower we found in the store which we thought was amazing because we figured they wouldn't match online pricing, just other big home improvement stores. We were even able to take one of the pre-assembled mowers to save us a little grief putting the thing together once home. Great customer service here!! read more

I wish zero stars was an option. Do not shop here. The two projects we went through their "experts" and regret it. First time delivery was late, half installed because they said we didn't tell them everything (which we did). Thought it might have been a fluke. Scheduled an estimate for blinds. We were told free estimate and install with the purchase of blinds. Guy shows up. Tell us the measurement is extra. There's a "ladder fee" per window, each window over 3 was extra. Odd shaped windows, extra. Cancelled everything. Salt in the wound was they called me after I cancelled everything offering us a one time special no install fees. Emailed corporate. They replied they would get to the bottom and get back to us. Didn't hear back. Nothing. Go through Costco for appliances. Way easier, cheaper, and more professional. read more

They're just so crap. It isn't one thing. It's an overall strange collection of complete miss management. Stock is randomly confusing and is so out of synch with online stock, even if it says it's available in store. You may as well just not try to match expectations with the web site stock and go in if you want to pound the square peg of what they have into the round hole of your project. Staff, are in my experience pretty courtious , but absolutely abandoned to the bizarre stocking/restocking issues. Asking for help locating something is nearly pointless, as they send you to some other department and speak of them as a completely separate store entity. Isles CONSTANTLY closed while staff randomly act like customers and selling things are not how they make a living, while they instead pretend to be contractors staring at clipboards and driving around restocking vehicles. I've seen them close whole isles for over an hour in multiple sections of the store at once. This REALLY minimizes what you can accomplish if you're shopping for a project. The whole place is also gross. The irony of a hardware store with a broken or gross anything again demonstrates a lack of caring from higher up. I've seen rats (in fairnees - a rat) run across isles and under the shelving while waiting for my kids to come out of their bathroom. I know it's a warehouse setting, but I can't recall having ever seen this at a costco or indeed any other home depot. Online ordering to pick up in store to avoid all this is the answer right? Just had all three items of in stock items cancelled with no reason given. Just an email cancelling my whole order when all displayed as in stock on the site. In fact they still display as being in store. I just checked. Are they just cancelling my whole order to make their day easier, or did they not mark the items as being unavailable? Aside from all this, I really enjoy hardware stores. I like to browse and absorb tools and gadgets, but even to me, I literally cannot find a way to successfully complete many purchases, and 9 times out of 10 I leave empty handed. Today after the online pick up in store strangeness, I'm not even going in and I'm leaving empty handed. Yet again I go back to Amazon and give them my money instead. I think I have to give up. EDIT: So, in short, about an hour after I wrote this I went in to check out their stock :D I could find one of the items. All three still list as being in stock, so good luck to whoever else orders it. With it being Saturday and the time for my project dwindling, Amazom was my last resort. I reluctantly decided to try the home depot in Bellevue. Man, the difference at this store. Items in the right places. Clean floors. No garbage in and around the cart pickup. No garbage cans overflowing. Oddly, it was also quieter, and staff seemed happier. The bellevue store listed all three items in stock, and they were also on the shelves. In fairness to online ordering, I should probably conclude that it was likely the Bothell store entirely at fault, and perhaps the ordering would have worked had I gone to bellevue in the first place. I guess I'll try that next time and hooefully just avoid the Bothell one. It's nasty. read more
