i went in to metropolitan appliance on memorial day weekend and had done my online research and was pretty certain what i wanted in terms of a replacement slide in stove. jacob a approached me and ended up helping me. we spent over an hour talking about options and discussing standard coil vs induction/glass top. i wasn't going to go that route but jacob is very thorough and not pushy at all; multiple times he stated that his goal was for me to purchase something i felt comfortable with and would be happy to own. i appreciated that. ultimately i decided to go with a frigidaire model that was a drastic improvement on the stove/oven i've lived with for two decades. he took care of the payment paperwork, the scheduling of delivery which had to wait until now and also all the communication between us. he was also kind enough to send a follow up email alerting me to being eligible for a rebate based on the model i had chosen. today, the delivery folks showed up within the stated window and i'll just say that the tracking system clients are sent to know when to expect the delivery is magic! it helped a lot to be prepared and to have cleared the adjacent space but it left no guessing for when they would arrive. jorge and his teammate (sorry, i didn't catch his name) were professional and efficient. they knew how to handle the extrication of the old appliance, how to set up the new one and insure it was level, and they walked me through basic operating instructions. all told (and i haven't yet used the appliance) i have been very happy with the level of service and courteous communication from this business. it makes me want to provide their name to others who are in the appliance market and to use them again when i next need a replacement. read more

Tuesday evening our refrigerator died. We called Metropolitan Appliance Wednesday morning, described the refrigerator we wanted. They had several that met our criteria in stock--though it turned out only one would fit. Our salesman, Kevin was very patient, and ultimately we said let's do it. For a some extra fee he was able to arrange next day service. The two installers who arrived today, William and Anthony were amazing. They measured carefully to ensure that the refrigerator would fit before they unboxed the refrigerator. They were gracious and efficient and even suggested a way we could solve a problem with a drawer really close to the refrigerator. This was not our first exprerience at Metropolitan Appliance, and it won't be the last. The professionalism of both the sales staff and the installers was outstanding. read more

I can obviously only speak to my personal experience, but this is the second time I've made purchases from Metropolitan Appliance, and if I need appliances again this will be my first and likely only stop. For the appliances I was looking for, they were exactly the same price as the largest retailers were advertising. I can't speak to a comparison of their install prices, but the dishwasher delivery/install/haul-away cost was well worth it. The showroom in SoDo is clean, uncrowded, and staffed with knowledgeable people who are ready to help you. I worked with Kevin, who was not pushy at all, and generally was happy to just talk about what they had to offer in my price range. The big key for me is the service, especially after the purchase. I've had pretty poor experiences from the larger retailers who subcontract out the delivery/install. Metropolitan Appliance handles this portion of the experience only with in-house employees. This is a huge plus for me, especially if there are issues. And for someone who lives in an older home, there are ALWAYS issues. In my case, the range was perfect, but the dishwasher was not. What I ordered wouldn't quite work in my space. I was able to speak the technician about what the issue was, he noted his advice in their system, and I worked with Kevin to find something that would work given the new information. I also had to reschedule the second delivery the day before due to a change in my work schedule, and even though it was Kevin's day off, another employee answered the phone immediately and was able to give me alternative dates. Which were only a couple of days later, not a month out. Today I was able to get the dishwasher installed. The same team showed up. Ned and Jacob were great both times they worked in our home. They were polite and genuinely good people to talk to, and seemed to enjoy their work. They took me through what they were doing in the install at my request for some future changes I had planned. They also realized early on in the day that they were going to be a bit later than the delivery window I was originally provided with. Ned reached out immediately, kept me updated, and I was able to make use of that time instead of sitting at home waiting for no reason. Long story short, despite my moderate purchases here, I felt that my business was actually appreciated. The appliances didn't cost anything more than they would have elsewhere, and the install team was courteous and upbeat, even after a long day. read more

I am currently conflicted. The salesperson was very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. We were informed that the order would be placed after payment, and we should receive all but one item within 1-2 weeks, with the remaining item arriving by mid-April. Additionally, they offered to store the items until our project began, which we estimated to be at the end of March or early April. However, when we called a couple of weeks later to confirm receipt of the items upon getting our confirmed start date for construction, we discovered that the order had not been placed yet. Consequently, the one item will now not be available until the end of April. I will update this review after seeing if we receive everything as expected in time for our remodel, which is scheduled to start in a week. read more

We paid for a refrigerator and signed binding documents with the promise that we'd have our purchase in six weeks but the product was not available for six months. The delivery should have been confirmed before our money was accepted. We are well past supply chain problems so that wasn't the issue. We had to call repeatedly to check on the status. They should have been calling us. On top of that, although I didn't ask for it, they should have offered to discount our purchase because of the headache they'd caused us. It was poor service. I would not recommend them. I want to add one thing. The delivery went smoothly. The guys did a good job. read more

Regrettably we bought all our appliances for a kitchen remodel from Metropolitan Appliance based on good yelp reviews. The experience was so awful I feel obliged to warn people. We paid extra for appliance installation and the $250 for installing the refrigerator amounted to them plugging it in. It required installing custom cabinet door fronts and after I complained they did come back to do that, but managed to install the handles at a visibly crooked angle. The sizing of the cooktop and oven didn't match the specs and consequently had to be exchanged to fit the cabinets. They hauled both away without consulting with me. We then had to pay a delivery fee to return the oven. I ended up buying the replacement cooktop from another company (who was comparably better to work with by magnitudes) and Metropolitan Appliance never refunded the money for the cooktop return or the unused installation fee. Our experience with them was awful, they still owe us money we will never see, once there are problems they stop returning calls and emails, and I honestly think they deserve to go out of business. read more

Their installers broke my sink when they installed a dishwasher and refused to fix it or pay to have it fixed. I bought a Bosch 100 series dishwasher and paid the $220 fee for installation and removal of my old dishwasher. Initially, everything went smoothly. However a couple days later I noticed a leak under the sink, and saw that the faucet was leaking and the sink basin itself had been knocked loose off its mount during the installation. Metropolitan Appliance sent a different pair of installers back and claimed that since the sink was leaking and not the dishwasher they couldn't help me. They also said the original installer told me about the leak at the time of the installation (he did not). They made no attempt to fix the anything and just left. I've since had to call in a plumber who also couldn't fix the sink (which has gotten much worse by now - see picture) and said I needed a countertop specialist to remount it, which I'm in the process of trying to find and will probably cost hundreds of dollars to fix, if not more. After too many messages back and forth with Metropolitan Appliance, they continue to deny they were at fault and only agreed to refund $100 of the $220 installation fee. Not nearly enough to cover my costs or reimburse the hours of hassle I've spent trying repair what their clumsy lying installer destroyed. I will never buy anything from there again. read more

The company said no problem will order a replacement door and take care of it. Well I waited 3 months called back they told me it would be 6 months before they could get a new door. Fair enough covid and spply chain. I waited a year, heard nothing from them. Called back 10 times and waited another year. Called the other day told them the whole situation they swore they'd get back to me and they just blew me off again. I called and talked to Amy, who was excellent, and was able to give us a better deal on the dishwasher we wanted than we'd found anywhere else. We were lucky that Charlotte picked up the call, she is pleasant and easy to talk to, she promptly emailed me the quote. She said that she will follow up on some of the questions I have on Monday. Over the weekend we did try couple of big box stores and we're not able to get to a proper quotation including all the installation and delivery costs. Given our not so great experience with big box stores I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt call back from Charlotte. She asked me about the space we were trying to install the washer and dryer in, talked me through the measurement requirements and was patient as I managed my lil one and taking measurements. This was above and beyond the price check question I had. She also talked me through with the cost of hauling, delivery, installation and installation parts. We ordered over phone while making sure things were looking good over email. It was pretty neat shopping experience in this Covid situation. Charlotte was upfront about dryer delivery being delayed. She knew that we needed the washer as our current one is broken and we have a baby at home, so they said they would do two trips without additional cost!!! This place is great! They have saved us twice now after our appliances up and quit. We tried shopping locally and noone could deliver on short notice, or did not have what we wanted in stock, or wait times were in excess of 4 months. Fortunately, they have their own delivery and installation crew and both our extensive oven installation and fridge replacement were done perfectly, with great care shown to our home. I bought a pair of W&D from Metropolitan Appliance and could not be happier!!! Forget about BestBuy, Lowe's and even Costco! They were my go-to as well, but these big-box stores hire the same subcontractors to do installations. These subcontractors are booked back to back with over 10 appointments a day and would not give you the time of day. If you read product reviews for large appliances from these retailers, most people complain about installations. After roughly 3 months dealing w/ BestBuy (over 5 appointments, flood due to installation failure, chargeback requests from CC because they won't refund my $), I was DESPERATE for a pair of washer and dryer. Metropolitan Appliance uses their own delivery team and they were in my house, walking me through the installation, teaching about my new appliances and were really careful not to damage anything! They stand behind their service!! They value customer services, you call their # or send an email and you can get in touch with someone right away. Special shout-out to Ryan W.! I bought my W&D from him, he is super knowledgeable and answered my calls/answer my MANY emails straight away. He followed up w/ the delivery team to ensure everything was installed correctly. Luckily I bought the warranty because the washer part was not working. I contacted the salesperson Mark Wiltse and he contacted the insurance company, and I will get a free repair. I have had other appliances that needed repairs and it was the same story, the warranty company fixed my appliances for free. On Friday morning, my wife walked into my home office while I was on a conference call to tell me that our refrigerator was dead. I figured she was exaggerating. She was not - it was dead. Really dead. Panic ensued, as we only have a backup freezer and not an extra refrigerator. We also have a young son, so going an extended period without a working refrigerator was a non-starter. We started calling around to everywhere we could think of - big box stores, local, etc. Everyone was quoting us delivery windows of 4-6 weeks out. Enter Jim and the team from Metropolitan Appliance to save the day. We called Metropolitan Appliance during the early afternoon Friday. My wife explained our situation, gave him the measurements we could support, and asked for his opinion. Jim gave us his honest opinion about three potential options - GE, KitchenAid, or Bosch unit. He also told us that if we picked something in-stock, it could be delivered as soon as Monday! We chose a 23 cu ft KitchenAid unit which also happened to still be on Black Friday special. We gave Jim a credit card over the phone and within an hour, my wife had a text confirming our Monday 12/9 delivery window between 10:45am and 12:45pm. Fast forward to Monday at 11am and the Metropolitan Appliance truck was pulling up our driveway. David and Mauricio (apologies if I spelled your name wrong!) made quick work of hauling away our old refrigerator and then very carefully brought the new one in. They each treated my home and our new refrigerator with the utmost care - as if this was their home and their new refrigerator. Before leaving, they hooked up our water line, installed the filter, installed all of our shelving, and cleaned the unit from top-to-bottom. At least it would get to look brand new for a few hours until my son gets home from school, right? Metropolitan Appliance has earned a customer for life and we'll be referring everyone we can think of. Hopefully we won't be needing a refrigerator again anytime soon! They helped us with appliances for a complete high-end kitchen / entire house remodel including Stove/Range, Hood, Microwave, Dishwasher, Side by side refrigerator / freezer, ice maker. Our remodel was very stressful with significant delays and unexpected set backs. The one thing that was constant was Jim and Metropolitan Appliance. They went above and beyond to stand by what they sold. Work with us on flexible delivery schedule including holding our items onsite as well as advocating for us with the vendor when we had an issue with our ice machine and making it right. Rude beyond belief. Metropolitan Appliance outside loading truck had no idea I was coming in to buy appliances. His trucks parked illegally and he yelled at me "get over it lady." Do not do business with these people. Rules apparently do not apply to them. Very rude and I am in the market for high end appliances and would have spent quite a bit of money. Just because you were not in your showroom you were wearing the company emblem and were very rude and you were breaking the law creating a dangerous situation in the middle of the road.. You represent your company in the front AND IN THE BACK of your store. I will be going to Albert Lee as others here suggest. UPDATE: I was so upset I just called the manager AARON- who took responsibility for his employee. He handled it the best he could. He was very professional and apologetic. We received calls both to reconfirm our delivery time the day prior to delivery and to let us know when the delivery team was an hour out on our delivery day. Their customer service rating should be negative, but all I can do is to give them one star. I went there to buy a washer, on Sunday, and Wes overcharged me $55. He said that I get a refund on Monday and was suprised when I asked for a receipt for a due refund. When I called the store on Tue and asked why the refund is not shown on my credit card, they said that they processed my refund and gave me elaborate explanation about money moving from their bank to my credit card, and said to wait for 2-3 days. On Thu, I called and told them that if I don't see the refund on Friday, I'll be cancelling delivery. They were not polite and I had to raise my voice and repeat it. It helped, and they found out that they need my credit card info to process my refund. I came to the store and cancelled the whole purchase. I was lucky to bump into this $55 overcharge and waste almost a week. I saved myself from being their customer and client to repair the appliance. I am so disappointed by the service we received in buying our Bosch stove. It started with the installation when they left a large gap behind the stove, and told us it just needs a cheap part to fix. They supposedly left a message for the store to get the part. We never heard from them and have played phone tag for weeks with the sales person. It has been a month and Finally my husband went into the store and finds out their is no cheap part to fix this but we could call in our own and get someone to adjust our gas line for 450 dollars. No ownership for selling us the wrong stove or support to come back out and fix the installation. This despite the fact we were also trying to buy a new dishwasher, so we will go somewhere else with our additional business. We do love the stove. read more
