sink knocked off its mount and detached from the countertop
    Keenan C.

Their installers broke my sink when they installed a dishwasher and refused to fix it or pay to have it fixed. I bought a Bosch 100 series dishwasher and paid the $220 fee for installation and removal of my old dishwasher. Initially, everything went smoothly. However a couple days later I noticed a leak under the sink, and saw that the faucet was leaking and the sink basin itself had been knocked loose off its mount during the installation. Metropolitan Appliance sent a different pair of installers back and claimed that since the sink was leaking and not the dishwasher they couldn't help me. They also said the original installer told me about the leak at the time of the installation (he did not). They made no attempt to fix the anything and just left. I've since had to call in a plumber who also couldn't fix the sink (which has gotten much worse by now - see picture) and said I needed a countertop specialist to remount it, which I'm in the process of trying to find and will probably cost hundreds of dollars to fix, if not more. After too many messages back and forth with Metropolitan Appliance, they continue to deny they were at fault and only agreed to refund $100 of the $220 installation fee. Not nearly enough to cover my costs or reimburse the hours of hassle I've spent trying repair what their clumsy lying installer destroyed. I will never buy anything from there again.

Wow! So, I really dislike going into showrooms and knew exactly what I wanted for a new cooktop and double oven (we had gone to another store to choose the items and were treated pretty dismissively so decided not to buy from them) - I emailed Metropolitan based on their reviews and Kevin Selle helped me straight away, sent the specs I needed, pricing etc, followed up in a timely fashion, responded to emails, and the purchase process was painless and simple! Our installation was headed up by Mario Martinez and they, again, did an excellent and thorough job - on time, clean work, professional, friendly and were incredibly patient with my dog who kept walking over and barking at them as they worked - I couldn't be happier - I would highly HIGHLY recommend Metropolitan over everyone else out there!

Jim and the crew is awesome to work with. I just bought a replacement Dishwasher and wanted something nice and quiet and Jim recommended the Bosch) and it is awesome (can't tell if it is on other than the red dot the machine projects onto the floor indicating washing is in progress). Great selection and pricing and very attentive and proactive with setting up an on time and professional deliver/install/haul away. You won't be disappointed!

    48" SubZero just installed!

I wanted to find a place in the Seattle area that had these in stock since I was worried about time constraints in shipping. I called the Boos company directly, and they told me to try contacting Bargreen Ellingson and Sur la Table for locations in my area that carried their stock. I called Sur la Table, but they did not have the cutting board I was looking for since it was a custom order item. Next, I called Bargreen Ellingson. I was directed to a customer service rep. The rep informed me that they did not have them in stock, but they could place an order for me. They said it would take 7-10 business days to arrive, and shipping would be $35.95 for ground shipping to come to my home, or $34 to arrive at the store. I complained that I could get it through Amazon for free shipping, but Amazon's site said it would take up to 4 weeks to arrive. So, I decided to go with Bargreen Ellingson. After discussing the price with the rep, I was immensely pleased! Their price was about $90 cheaper than Amazon! Sure, I had to pay for the shipping, but it was still much cheaper! Frankly, I was skeptical about the price because it seemed too good to be true. I got that "aroo?" look on my face and quizzed her to verify she was talking about the same cutting board I was talking about. I couldn't believe it. I asked how that could *possibly* be the right price, and she said: "Well, we buy these things in bulk, so we get a pretty good discount." No exaggeration there, sister! Ultimately the rep offered the shipping to my home for the store rate - $34, so I was a very happy camper. About 15-20 minutes after placing my order, I received a call back from the rep. She was very apologetic and said the item was a custom order item, and would take 4 weeks plus shipping time. She wanted to know if it was okay to proceed with the order, and I told her it was fine. It was a little disappointing that I would have to wait that much longer, but it was somewhat to be expected since Amazon had the same disclaimer. Seven days after placing my order, it arrived! 4 week, schmore weeks. Pfft. It was just as promised, and $60 cheaper than any place I could find online! All in all: great service, great prices, exceeded expectations = WIN! You gained a big, big fan, Bargreen Ellingson!

I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.
