I saw the great reviews for Nick here on Yelp and decided to get a second opinion on my dishwasher repair. Nick diagnosed the issue (broken pump motor) over the phone and asked for the model number, explaining that some models would be overly complicated/costly to repair. Nick gave me a link to the replacement part and a (perfectly reasonable) quote on the phone. The first company I talked to claimed (without too much information) that the repair would be upwards of $600 and that I should just buy a new one. Nick showed up on time and quickly made the repair. I can't even begin to capture what an amazing service Nick provided to us today. The water dispenser on the outside door of our Samsung refrigerator was broken. After ordering the right parts for our model, he not only did the repair expertly and reasonably priced, but he cleaned behind the fridge for us, and gave advice on how to avoid scratching our wood floor when pulling the fridge out. And he explained exactly what went wrong and how all the parts work together. He's the sole owner of this local shop, and I would recommend him for any appliance repair. He may not respond immediately because he's working and doesn't have an assistant, but he was completely dependable with everything we discussed. Already love this guy. Gave him a call and he gave me a super quick fix over the phone rather than sending out a tech to make money. I'm trying it tonight, if it doesn't work, Nick will be the first person I call to come out. Seems like a really knowledgable professional who I already know is honest! So update - our fridge wouldn't start working even after all his expert phone advice, so we hired him to come on out. And Nick is a total rockstar. He figured out the problem, and even though they can't get the part, and will probably end up having to get a new fridge, he only charged us for his time, offered us a ton of solutions, is obviously extremely competent, and was polite, courteous, efficient, and overall excellent. Austin was prompt and courteous and honest. He was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and take care of it. Since it wasn't something huge, he was able to keep my labor costs low. He even diagnosed another issue while he was here, and was able to make a quick pit stop to pick up the part and then come through later in the afternoon to repair. It turned out the part wasn't needed after all though, and he didn't charge me for any unnecessary labor or issues. I spoke with Nick on Tuesday and he was available first thing Wednesday morning. He arrived within the time window he specified and quickly diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator (a faulty defrost thermostat, which I had suspected). In addition to replacing the part, Nick thoroughly defrosted the back coils and cleaned the front exchange assembly of accumulated lint (so it would cool more efficiently). I swear he was there longer than the hour he charged me for. And did more work than was strictly required. For $210, I have a fully functioning refrigerator that is actually better than it was before his visit. Highly recommended. read more

Our Refrigerator stopped working , and some of the appliance repair reviews were scary. Nick answered and said he could be here the next day at 830 and he was (well 15 minutes late, but really). He took his shoes off, and got to work. It was a small part and he charged us 200 bucks for a pretty quick job. I was very happy. It seemed a good deal as I was thinking new frig, he told me to clean out the underneath to give the coils plenty of air. We rent a very old house with very old appliances, and our dryer unexpectedly died (like a Nazgul, at about 1 bazillion decibels). I only have the time to do laundry 1 day/week, with our schedules, so I was really, really needing someone to come out ASAP and make it work again. I called Eagle Appliance and left a message, and they called me right back and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Nick showed up on time, and was polite and friendly during the entire exchange. He fixed the dryer (belt needed replacing) and cleaned out the lint for me (we lack a vacuum cleaner, so I fretted when the words "fire hazard" came out of his mouth) in about 20 minutes. I haven't had much appliance repair done, so I have no idea if the cost was competitive, or not. But the service was excellent, prompt, and positive all around. (and honestly, given it's a cost that may happen once every 3-5 years, it seemed very affordable to me) I will definitely use these folks again, when the need arises. read more

This review is based only on my phone call. I don't necessarily give them a 1 star rating but just a comment about my experience. After a week of calling twice and leaving a voicemail--no return call yet. Also, on their voice message--they don't give a reason why they might be unable to call back. So I don't know if they are just busy or are just inconsiderate. So just a word of advice for them--mention it on your voicemail. It's a really easy fix and you won't get this type of bad review. This company has the most reviews and very highly rated in my current location. So they may just be in high demand or very busy. I went with rich's appliance service instead. So here's some yelp advice. When choosing repair companies or companies like these--don't choose solely on most reviews or ratings alone. On a Saturday our washing machine stopped working & we anticipated a costly repair to the motor or worse. Called Nick, thanks to a yelp search. He was here the next day right on time and after a quick diagnosis figured out it wasn't broken but 2 kids socks were stuck in the pump. Nick is so sweet, knowledgeable, and considerate. I was also grateful for how non-judgmental he was. He arrived within the time frame that he gave us and fixed my parent's dishwasher within half an hour. Nick happened to be in the neighborhood, and was at my house 10 minutes after I called him - he even promised NOT to charge me if he found my dishwasher un-repairable when he got here; how nice is that? When our refrigerator broke down, Nick got to our house quicker than anyone else could (we still had to wait a few days). He needed to order a new thermostat, but he set us up with a temporary one. Can I rate more than 5 stars? Nick is the MAN! After a nightmare experience with Sears Appliance Repair, I found Nick online as a local repairman. He was able to come out the same day I called him and fixed my fridge in under and hour.. something that Sears would have done for double the price and around 4 weeks. Nick came over and found the issue to be something else with the unit. Cut and paste replacing of the parts would have been a waste (which was what the Sears repairman would have done at double the cost). Nick also found additional issues, kindly explained how they're all contributing to an ultimate issue then fixed them with the parts he had on his person. Imagine that.. a repair man that comes prepared! Benefits of a local repair service - helping a small business, speedy service, and (in my case) a more thorough evaluation of my refrigerator. I compared his charges for parts and found that Sears blatantly overcharges for their parts (major evap fan typically $109, Sears wanted to charge $219). I called Sears to resolve my issue and all they did was create a new one with horrible service. Thankfully I was able to get my money back. Nick's service was literally HALF of what Sears would have charged. My only regret at this point is not calling Eagle Appliance Repair sooner. read more

We used this guy a maybe 4 years ago for a bad gasket on the refrigerator. He told us that we should not get a repair gasket because they come in a box crammed and they never flatten. We didn't listen and told him to replace the gasket. He did and it was just like he said it would be - it came in a crammed box and it would not flatten, so we still had the same problem. A few months later we got a new whirlpool and of course, 3 years later the fan motor died. He came in and fixed it fast, and it's like new. Not only would we recommend this guy for service, but we would also say that you should listen to him because he knows what he's talkin about. Five stars for sure! read more

My gas clothes dryer stopped heating. I called Eagle and spoke with Nick. I explain the issue and he stated it might be the heat coil, as the machine is 14 years old and that's a common thing to go bad. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours. He arrived within the pre-arranged window of time. He was professional, friendly, and thoroughly explained everything. He replaced the gas coil and also mentioned the felt around the dryer drum was looking a little thin. We decided to replace that, too (extra $15). He completed the job in under 30 minutes and asked if I had any questions about any of my other appliances. I didn't, but when something goes south with one of them, I will call Nick! read more

He discovered that my compressor fan wasn't working at all and this could have been VERY bad for my refrigerator. I am extremely disappointed with my interaction with this company which is why I have to leave them this negative review. I called on Monday AM to arrange for someone to fix my Kenmore gas oven which had recently stopped working. Nick answered the phone right away and said he could stop by at 9am on Wednesday to take a look at it. Everything was fine until the actual day of my appointment. By 9:15am on Wednesday, Nick had not shown up yet (or called). So I tried to call him to see where he was (wanting to make sure he didn't forget about me). I was the first appointment of his day so I thought it was strange that he wouldn't be there on time, especially since his location is only 10 blocks from my house. I left him a message with my name and phone number so he could call me back. At 9:30am, Nick was still nowhere to be found. I called him again and had to leave another message. I told him he was 30 minutes late and I would not be waiting around for him any more. I had taken a couple hours off of work for this appointment so I was very disappointed that he failed to show up on time or even call me to tell me he is running behind. At 9:45am he shows up as I'm heading out the door to go to work. I told him, "Sorry, you're too late. I have to go". He didn't have an excuse for being 45 minutes late but blamed me for misunderstanding him. Which I don't know how that's possible when he clearly said I'll see you at 9am on Wednesday. He claimed he said he would be there "around 9am". If that is true then I would assume that meant he would show up some time between 8:45am and 9:15am. Which he didn't, he showed up at 9:45am. Instead of just admitting that he was late, he insisted on arguing with me on my front porch. I told him that I had already contacted a rival company and they would be sending someone out to fix my issue. I eventually just had to ask him to leave and shut my door. Since I'm sure he is reading this, Nick, here are a few things to remember when you work in an industry based on customer service and recommendations: The customer is always right! Admit when you make a mistake and don't blame them when you F up! Have the courtesy to call your customers if you are going to be more than 15 minutes late to an a scheduled visit. I wouldn't recommend him to anybody (not even someone I don't like). Save your money and your time and go with another reliable company. read more

I arranged for Nick based on Yelp ratings. My dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes and making a lot noise. He came out, fixed the dishwasher, within about a week. One load worked great, but by that Friday, the dishwasher was not cleaning again. I called, he was on vacation. I called again on Tuesday when he was back. He came out a few days later and said nothing was wrong - just the settings on the dishwasher. My dishes still don't come out clean. I rinsed off all the dishes before putting them in and when they come out, they have debris on them that wasn't there before. If I needed a new dishwasher (it's only 3 years old), I wish he would've just told me. On the positive side, he was very polite and professional, just didn't solve my problem. read more

My mom's LG fridge stopped cooling Wednesday morning. I called a few highly rated Yelp services, one didn't do LG appliances, another couldn't get us in until Monday. I left a message with Eagle, and Nick called me back right away, and came over an hour later. Two parts needed to be replaced, and one part needed to be ordered, he got that one the next day, came over and finished the job. I gather it was not an easy job as the fridge was very iced up inside. Cost was about $300 which seemed very reasonable to me, it was quite a lot of labor on his part too. He was super nice and knew just what to do, and just basically very helpful and conscientious. We will definitely be calling him again for our next appliance disaster! read more
