John just came to fix our stacked washer/dryer because our washing machine's drain pump wasn't working. He was very communications and offered to come a couple hours earlier than we scheduled. We were available and he was able to replace drain pump in a couple hours. This wasn't the easiest because we live in a tall skinny townhome without much room to work. He got out done, no mess and no fuss. John showed me the issue with our drain pump (it has a chunk taken off). We came home last Tuesday evening hoping to have done ice cream but the ice cream was soupy and the freezer was at 29F. We called a couple of repair places the next day and Appliance Repair Team was able to send someone out that afternoon. Val saw that the compressor fan wasn't spinning. He got it moving but it was really loud so he said it had to be replaced. He didn't have the parts on hand but had them ready by that Saturday--unfortunately we weren't available for an installation appointment parts until the following Monday, but at least the loud old fan did help lower the freezer temperature (loudly) during that period. The new parts are in now and the fridge is both quiet and properly chilly! I accidentally booked the Monday appointment an hour too early and was able to call them that morning and have it shifted--I appreciated their flexibility. Excellent experience. Tom came over recently to revive a dead Bosch Dishwasher that was just too young to die. That Bosch didn't give up its secrets easily and Tom had to come back a few times to get it fully sorted, but his persistence and patience paid off and the appliance is humming along just great now. Given the massive wait-times for a new appliance - and considering landfill issues in general - repair was a much better option than replacement! So, I didn't hesitate to call him back over when the electronic controller on my gas stove started acting up this past week. Within a day Tom had that problem sorted out too, with minimal fuss and all with perfectly reasonable rates. No one wants to spend money on repairs, but appliances aren't built to last and sometimes it's just what you have to do. The tricky thing about this kind of repair business, is that it seems standard practice to charge for the consultation if you end up not using their services. Of the 5 teams Yelp reached out for my bid, all 5 had a 65-70$ service fee, that was waived if you used them for the repair. Of course that makes it really difficult/expensive to get competing bids, but I also get why a company might end up with a model like this. ‍ All that said, I went through all of the reviews for Appliance Repair Team and they seemed the best of the 5 Yelp had contacted. So I took the $70 gamble and picked them, and overall it was a pleasant 5-star experience. Val was our technician and he was very professional. He diagnosed the problem (a bad dishwasher control board) with a house visit an hour after I called them. And then once the new part came in, a few days later, he came that day and had it installed in less than an hour. I would hire them again! I just don't know how competitive their prices are? But overall the price didn't seem unreasonable and met my expectations for this area. read more

Our washer broke down and was throwing an F51 code. I was able to restart it, although it was running much louder than it ever had in the previous 12 years of ownership. I called Appliance Repair Team and they were able to send a technician out on the same day, which was great! The tech spent about 20 minutes diagnosing the issue and said that there were a few loose bolts around the motor, which he tightened up. He ran the washer to see if it was working - it worked, but was still VERY loud on high speed (it sounds like a jet getting ready to take off!). The washer had always worked quietly before the F51 code came up. To me, it seems that there is an issue - why the change in volume, if there's nothing wrong? We were advised to try running a few loads of laundry to see if the washer was going to work. Luckily, it has been working, but I'm not confident that everything is working correctly and am concerned that the real issue was not fixed. One positive is that the tech reached out to me the next day to see if the washer was still working. That was nice of him to care enough to follow up. I told him that it was, but that the machine is much louder than it had been before the error code. I'm leaving a 3-star review, because the company was quick to respond and they obviously didn't try to upsell any parts, but I am still not certain that the washer is working properly. read more

A tech came out for a leaking washing machine in August. Told my spouse that we use too much soap and to use less. We use a Tide pod each wash, unsure how we are supposed to use less. Months later and the washing machine still leaking and I feel like I paid this person $85 to do absolutely nothing. I had a chest freezer that stopped working (was no longer keeping food frozen). The service person Evgeny notified me that he was able to come by earlier than originally scheduled, which worked fine for me. He took a quick look and let me know that the parts (likely needed a new compressor) and labor would cost more than what it would cost to just buy a new chest freezer. He waived the service fee because he spent so little time taking a look at the freezer before he left. It's unfortunate that the repair costs are so high, but I really appreciated that Evgeny was upfront about it and didn't charge me at all. read more

6 stars in my book! We had an issue with our GE dishwasher that caused a huge pool of water to leak underneath which ended up damaging our hardwood floors and the ceiling in the room underneath. I called Appliance Repair Team on Monday and they were able to come out on Wednesday to come take a look which was really fast considering other repair shops either ignored me or weren't able to come out for weeks. Maxim was the technician assigned and he showed up on time. He was very polite and friendly, not to mention meticulous, skilled and careful. After taking a look at the dishwasher for about 15-20 minutes, he diagnosed the problem as being related to the diverter motor and explained the nature of the fix. A quote was provided to me within 30 minutes which was very reasonable considering the complexity of the fix. He came back the next day since he needed to get the part and was able to fix the issue within 45 minutes. He also showed me the defective part, explained why the leak happened and then did a round of thorough testing to make sure everything was working as expected. Since then, our dishwasher has been working perfectly. If I ever have any appliance issues in the future, I will definitely be reaching out to Appliance Repair Team. They are responsive, honest and very good at what they do. I also very much appreciated how the receptionist was so responsive and able to accommodate an earlier time for me. Thank you! read more

I called on a Monday morning to make an appointment, and our Drier was fixed by 4pm that same afternoon. The repair man was very professional, respectful, and clean. He wore mask, gloves, and shoe covers without me having to ask. He had repair parts in his car, so when all was said and done it only took him 1-1.5hrs to diagnose the problem and fix it. Also, the payment process was very easy. They text and email an online invoice with the option to pay electronically. They also accepted cash or check if that's your preference. Pro: they arrived in the timeline promised: 10a-noon. They arrived at 11:30 and left by 12:30. They were friendly, polite and fixed the washing machine (F20 hot water error). He did wear a mask and gloves and shoe covers. They promise a 6 month guarantee of their work. Cons: We were quoted $60 for diagnosis when we reached out to the company initially. We were promised the ability to approve the work once the issue was diagnosed and reserved the right to approve or decline the work, this key step never took place. Once he completed the work he said the payment due was $250. I am not a fan of doing business like that. One other kind of weird thing is that he wore shoe covers but then walked around outside and returned with his dirty shoe covers inside and stained the carpet with mud and dirt. He also didn't know how to dispose of the dirty "stain water" is what he called it. I wasn't sure how to answer that, nor did I realize I was going to be asked that. I will use them as long as the 6 month warranty covers. read more

Our oven broiler went out. They quickly scheduled apt and came to diagnose the problem. Very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to figure out what happened, this particular oven has issues with control board when doing self cleaning. Instead of replacing and risk having the problem in future we decided to look to get a more reliable oven. I did some research after the diagnose and found many results with this Jen air downdraft systems.
