Great experience with Appliance Fixers replacing compressor for 20-year-old KitchenAid Refrigerator. The refrigerator had been making intermittent knocking noises for the last year. It took two technicians from a different company to diagnose that the compressor was the issue. Those techs told me to just buy a new refrigerator as their company sells appliances. After reading reviews and checking Consumer Reports it was clear that newer refrigerators don't last very long and require expensive brand specific water filters every 6 months. Since I have a good quality KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator from 2005 and the parts were still available I decided to contact Appliance Fixers. They sent a tech out the next day to diagnose the issue and were able to get the part from their local warehouse and install it within a couple days. Both techs were very polite and knowledgeable. Replacing the compressor and adding Freon was a major repair and took about 3 hours and cost around $1,300. Hopefully the new compressor will last many more years and save a quality appliance from the landfill. read more

Diagnosed the problem quickly for my fridge making a loud rumbling noise, now all fixed

Our family does A LOT of laundry, so when our dryer stopped working late Saturday night, it put us in a bit of a bind. Dan was able to come out the next day, Sunday, on very short notice and on the weekend to take a look at our dryer. Dan had to take apart some of the dryer, but he was careful in doing so. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly, but he needed to order a new control board. After discussing it with my wife, we decided we would save ourselves the time and frustration of doing the repair ourselves and let the expert handle it. In about a week, Dan showed up on time to do the actual repair. He and his assistant came prepared with shoe covers. They were also very tidy and cleaned up after themselves, and our dryer is as good as new! Even though the control board is not cheap, it's still better than getting a new dryer. They offer 90-day part and labor warranty. I hope there will be no issue down the road but would definitely recommend Appliance Fixers and Dan. read more

Super great communication, fast replies and response. It was a challenging job, and we even offered to just have him stop, but he persevered and was successful! This job entailed taking apart a newer GE All-in-One. During cleaning of the vent with a shop vac (by me), the attachment fell inside the skinny dryer vent and into the machine, preventing it from running without damage. To get to it, the entire top of the machine, along with all the electronics and heat pump, had to be removed. Extremely satisfied with the results, customer service, and attitude.
