I found Appliance Fixers through the Yelp app decided to give them a try. The initial contact was seamless. I was able to book for a next day visit. The appointment reminder is via automated text message and clearly outline the date, time, and my address. Sam was the assigned technician for my appointment and he arrived early, which was very much appreciated. The diagnostic visit was $70 which is applied towards labor if I choose to go with the repairs. Sam found the issue within minutes. It was a faulty lower heating element and prevented the oven from reaching preset temperatures. Sam immediately contacted his office for parts was able to get me a quote for the total repair. Sam also guaranteed OEM parts and highlighted their 90 day warranty on their repairs. He came back the next day and completed the repair, tested the heating element, and ensured everything was to spec. What I really liked about the experience is the response time, friendly technician, fast repair time, and seamless quote and payment process. The pricing was reasonable and there was also no pressure to choose the repair, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, a great experience.

It took two technicians from a different company to diagnose that the compressor was the issue. Those techs told me to just buy a new refrigerator as their company sells appliances. After reading reviews and checking Consumer Reports it was clear that newer refrigerators don't last very long and require expensive brand specific water filters every 6 months. Since I have a good quality KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator from 2005 and the parts were still available I decided to contact Appliance Fixers. They sent a tech out the next day to diagnose the issue and were able to get the part from their local warehouse and install it within a couple days. Both techs were very polite and knowledgeable. Replacing the compressor and adding Freon was a major repair and took about 3 hours and cost around $1,300. Hopefully the new compressor will last many more years and save a quality appliance from the landfill.

This was to diagnose the issue. The tech Dmitrii didn't show up until 12:45pm. Things happen so I wasn't too concerned about him showing up late at this time. I was told Dmitrii had diagnosed the issue and I was sent an invoice and needed to put down a 50% deposit in order to move forward with the repair. He didn't have the part on hand so we had to schedule for another day. The second appointment was set for Tuesday January 20th with a window of 6pm - 8pm. I got a message from Dmitrii at 8:01pm saying he was having car troubles and could no longer make the appointment. A little shocked that he just learned of his car troubles a minute AFTER my appointment window but okay. We rescheduled for him to go out to the house the following day. The third appointment was set for Wednesday January 21st with a window from 6pm-8pm. He showed up within the window this time at 6:40pm however, he was unable to fix the issue. Dmitrii told my tenant the day he "diagnosed" the issue that it was either the actuator or the transmission (I had no idea about this because the invoice I received was for the actuator so naturally I assumed that's what needed to be repaired). So he left and I called in to see what was going on. I thought that the whole point of a diagnosis was to figure out what the issue was. I was told he may have gotten a faulty part and would like to go back out to the house to try and fix the issue. The fourth appointment was set for Thursday January 22nd with a window time of 4pm-6pm. I get a text from my tenant at 6:01pm that Dmitrii has not shown up yet again. At this point, Im extremely frustrated with this tech. Not only has he been late, not shown up to an appointment, misdiagnosed the issue, but he's wasted a lot of my tenants time as well as mine. He finally shows up at 7:23pm almost a whole hour and a half late, but again does not fix the issue. When he didn't show up on time this night, I was able to speak to the owner and before Dmitrii showed up he let me know that if the issue isn't fixed I will get a full refund so that was nice. Moral of the story, I ended up ordering a new washer and will never call A Appliance again. I feel like o failed my tenants by calling this company and leaving them without a washer for over a week now since we have to wait a couple of days for the new washer to arrive. I wouldn't have been so frustrated if the tech communicated better, or at all. Every time he was late I had to call, no messages from him to give us a heads up. My suggestion is if you want something done in a timely manner, go elsewhere.

Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. Better Air NW was the only one who didn't give us pricing or a plan and the only one we had a negative experience with. During our in-person consultation, Jered focused on our HOA almost the entire time. Our HOA does have requirements in this area that we don't think are enforceable anymore, and in any case, that's our issue to sort out once a proposal is in place. We reassured Jered we would handle the HOA ourselves and wanted him to treat it like any other job: propose whatever setup his experience would call for and walk us through a plan and pricing. He kept coming back to the HOA anyway, and we struggled to get him to focus on the plan instead. He even told us one of the rooms was "impossible," and when we asked why, the answer was the HOA. It really felt like we were grasping at straws here. By the end of the consultation, our time had been wasted and we still didn't have any pricing or a plan. Later, he texted us that they couldn't do the job, without giving a reason. Since we never got one, we were left to guess: to us, the constant focus on the HOA came across as an easy way to pass on a job they didn't want to take on. No other contractor had trouble coming up with a proposal and pricing. Either way, our suggestion to Better Air NW is to be upfront.

I had Firelight come out for an unusual reason: to determine if the masonry monstrosity in the…read morecenter of my home was an original thermal mass heating system, and IF SO, to check the chimney to determine if it is safe to use the firebox in the basement. I found the company to be very professional, all the way from first contact, several calls to schedule, and through to to arrival. The tech was on time and followed instructions to call 5-minutes out so I could corral my protective German Shepherd. The tech was impressively knowledgeable about ancient heating systems, and did a thorough inspection of the masonry and mortar on all three floors and gave me wise advice, which I very much appreciated. I was surprised the tech knew about thermal mass heating that was common in the 1800's to about the mid 1920's. I think he enjoyed getting an unusual service call. Nothing was broken, I just needed confirmation of my suspicion, a chimney/mortar inspection, and advice on safety. I had them do a full inspection on this...monstrosity. Note there is NO FIREPLACE--there has never been one, but there IS a firebox and clean out in the BASEMENT! SEE PHOTOS and descriptions for details. Turns out--this thing IS an original heating system from 1920. Thermal Mass. It was used by building a small hot fire in the basement firebox, load some coal, and let it go. The heat is captured in the brick and held like a battery, released over time. The main floor section is a SOLID MASS OF BRICK. There was never a fireplace there. When the fire burns down, the warm bricks give off heat on the main floor for 8-10 more hours. Thermal Mass Heating. --Rightly, I was advised it's not a good idea to use it, but in case of an emergency... I could. It will still work as intended and the chimney is safe for occasional emergency use. --Later, in the 1940's, someone tied into the flue on the main floor for a wood stove, then in the 1960's that was closed off when natural gas was installed, along with cast iron baseboards--heated by a gas boiler. Hydronic heat via cast iron baseboards is the Best Heat Ever. No blowing air. Just Warm, Penetrating Deep Warmth. Hydronic Radiant Heat heats OBJECTS, not air. THANK YOU FUSE!!!

Best customer service and reasonable cost! Highly recommended! We have a rental house in Lake Stevens WA and one of the burners of my Maytag Electrical Stove stopped working. We called Fast Appliances Repair and the owner (Roosevelt Lazares) answered. He is able to come to the house the same day for diagnostic. Same day appointment is a big deal for us! We called multiple places, and no one can do same day appointment! The diagnostic costs us $90 (but it can be used toward the repair). The repair cost for the broken burner is very reasonable ($370 total after part, labor and tax). Roosevelt ordered the part and come back 2 days later and fixed the stove! I hired Fast Appliances Repair to fix a malfunctioning dishwasher, and the experience was utterly disappointing. The technician arrived, barely glanced at the appliance, and performed no diagnostics--neither on the appliance itself nor the breaker. Instead, they quickly declared it a complex issue, slapped me with a bill over $100, and left without resolving anything. Frustrated, I later discovered the problem was fixed by simply turning off the breaker for 10 minutes--a basic troubleshooting step they should've tried. Their lack of effort and professionalism is unacceptable, and I'd strongly advise against using their services. Save your money and look elsewhere for competent repairs. read more

Honest, reliable & quick! We are very pleased with the level of service we received from Roosevelt. We called him at 6pm when our dryer stopped heating. He scheduled us for the next day and arrived within the timeframe. He quickly dismantled our dryer, diagnosed the problem, replaced the part with one from his truck, cleaned out the dryer and put it all back together again. He was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions without making us feel like we were wasting his time. Every time the experience has been solid. Most recently our fridge stopped cooling properly and Rick came out to take a look. He ran the diagnostic, figured out the issue pretty quickly, and had the refrigerator working again in about an hour. They're not the cheapest if you only look at the service call and labor, but honestly when your fridge is full of food you just want someone who actually knows appliance repair. He didn't have the part on hand so we had to schedule for another day. The second appointment was set for Tuesday January 20th with a window of 6pm - 8pm. I got a message from Dmitrii at 8:01pm saying he was having car troubles and could no longer make the appointment. A little shocked that he just learned of his car troubles a minute AFTER my appointment window but okay. We rescheduled for him to go out to the house the following day. The third appointment was set for Wednesday January 21st with a window from 6pm-8pm. He showed up within the window this time at 6:40pm however, he was unable to fix the issue. Dmitrii told my tenant the day he "diagnosed" the issue that it was either the actuator or the transmission (I had no idea about this because the invoice I received was for the actuator so naturally I assumed that's what needed to be repaired). So he left and I called in to see what was going on. I thought that the whole point of a diagnosis was to figure out what the issue was. I was told he may have gotten a faulty part and would like to go back out to the house to try and fix the issue. The fourth appointment was set for Thursday January 22nd with a window time of 4pm-6pm. I get a text from my tenant at 6:01pm that Dmitrii has not shown up yet again. At this point, Im extremely frustrated with this tech. Not only has he been late, not shown up to an appointment, misdiagnosed the issue, but he's wasted a lot of my tenants time as well as mine. He finally shows up at 7:23pm almost a whole hour and a half late, but again does not fix the issue. When he didn't show up on time this night, I was able to speak to the owner and before Dmitrii showed up he let me know that if the issue isn't fixed I will get a full refund so that was nice. Moral of the story, I ended up ordering a new washer and will never call A Appliance again. I feel like o failed my tenants by calling this company and leaving them without a washer for over a week now since we have to wait a couple of days for the new washer to arrive. I wouldn't have been so frustrated if the tech communicated better, or at all. Every time he was late I had to call, no messages from him to give us a heads up. My suggestion is if you want something done in a timely manner, go elsewhere.
