Disappointed with the cost! Maybe Thad's pricing was reasonable at one point but now he charges $159 for every 15 minutes in addition to $89 for driving to your place. Sadly, when I initially asked him about cost over the phone he stated $89 for coming in and $59 every 15 minutes plus the cost of parts if that is needed. He worked on my dryer at most 25 minutes and billed me $294, no parts were needed. When I inquired how he came up with that value he stated $89 for coming in and $159 every 15 minutes + sales tax stating his prices are comparable to others which happens to be false after I took the time to call other appliance repair services. I will not use him in the future but if you can afford and justify $636/hr + $89 + cost of parts + taxes, I'm sure he can get the work done. read more

This put everybody in the uncomfortable position of having to pay for something they did not know beforehand. The most frustrating thing is the bill that we were charged to pay could've purchased a brand new refrigerator. Just had a great experience with Apple Appliance Services! I got a hold of Thad at Apple Appliance (one-man business) to ask if he could come over to provide an estimate for my suddenly non-cooling refrigerator. It was Friday and he told me he would be able to come in the following Monday morning. I let him know I was hoping for something that day, since my fridge/freezer had completely stopped cooling and let him know I would check with some local competitors for a faster timeframe (which he completely understood and was cool about). Everyone else turned out to be more expensive for an estimate and would've taken even longer to come out for an appointment. Half an hour later Thad called me back and let me know he'd just completed his last appointment early and had a hole in his schedule if I could see see him in the next 20 minutes! He came in and got to work right away, answered all of my questions, and let me know exactly what he was doing. Unfortunately my refrigerator was not repairable, but he diagnosed this inside of 30 minutes, and he only charged for the initial estimate visit and one part (no labor cost, which by my estimation would have been an additional $80!). Even headed out the door, he kindly gave me some advice on excellent models and fridge types to look for in the future to get the most life out of my next fridge. I understand that this is a pretty fairly standard estimate appointment and result, but what stood out to me is the fact that he was willing to go above and beyond based on my emergency situation and how transparent he was about what he was doing and what his expectations were for my situation, while just exhibiting a warmth and forthrightness in his demeanor that I absolutely appreciate. Wonderful service, and would highly recommend! Apple Appliance answered our call about our dryer making a terrible noise, and we were able to schedule service the next day. Our technician arrived promptly during the time window provided, and got to work very quickly. He not only identified the problem that was causing the sound, but took the time to clean the entire disassembled machine with our vacuum for maintenance. The oven in our ancient gas range was on the fritz, and we called Thad at Apple Appliance. He came out that day and replaced the igniter, and found that the burner tube had a large hole in it. Glad that I found Thad & Apple Appliance! My Whirlpool refrigerator's ice-maker quit for no obvious reason to my rank amateur status. Everything I found on-line either did not apply or was not the problem. So I found & called Apple / Thad. I explained my problem & asked if he had any ideas. He asked for the Whirlpool model & said let me do some research & call back, which he did, inside a half-hour! We discussed what he'd found & I asked when could he look at my problem - he was here inside of 15-minutes! We ran through everything he'd found, everything he'd seen before, but could not find this problem. He asked for an over-night to dig in further, make some calls, & research. Next day he walked in saying he knew what the problem was, knew where to find it, & went right to it! A bundle of wires running from under the refrigerator then into the freezer door had broken. The plastic sleeve carrying the wires was torn wide open & 3 of the 6 wires were broken, not bent or frayed, but broken open & apart. The broken wires are a design failure & the wire bundle has impossible access. There are no simple junction clips where they are obviously needed. It's kind of a bizarre set up. We looked at it & agreed that this repair is on Whirlpool to sort out. Thad found the most impossible last-place-you'd-look problem that is so obscure that you will not find it discussed on-line. But Thad found it. He would not throw up his hands after three hours of testing & trying - he doggedly worked it over-night until he found the problem & to me, on this one, that's 99% of the fix. My refrigerator has had a block of ice inside the bottom of the freezer section, and while it didn't affect the temperature in the main section, I knew I should have it looked into. I called Apple Appliance and got a service call scheduled for the next day. Thad is a one-person operation, so he answers his own phone. He seemed to be familiar with the problem I had, and asked for my model number over the phone so he could bring the needed parts with him. I was already impressed. On the day of service, Thad was prompt and polite and got right to work. He brought the new parts with him of course and fixed my refrigerator in good time. It's working fine now. He explained the entire problem and even made sure my coils were clean before he left. I certainly had a good experience with Thad and would definitely call him again if any other appliance problem comes up. He said my icing situation was a design flaw that has affected many refrigerators, so much so that the manufacturer has created a kit for fixing them. My KitchenAide refrigerator was leaking water into the bottom of the freezer, which froze without draining. For the past year I dutifully would chip out 1/2 inch of ice to prevent additional water leaking onto the floor. A couple of days ago the upper unit stopped cooling, raising its interior temperature to 60 degrees. I was concerned I'd need to replace the refrigerator, but that would cost multiple thousands of $$$. After checking all the favorable reviews on Yelp, I decided to give Apple Appliance a try. Thad agreed to come out the next day. He was prompt, efficient and professional. He replaced multiple parts on the unit which he showed me were broken, including the control panel. He had all the parts on hand. He worked about 1 1/2 hours on the unit, breaking a sweat due to the physical nature of the work. Now my fridge works better than ever! I am so happy to have my dryer back. It's a 10 year old discontinued model that just died one day. Was having a dryer issue. Originally called Whirlpool because they are the manufacterer. Of course they tried to sell me the service call plus a warranty for $411.00 plus tax. When I declined that they said they could do a service call in 4 days for $99.00 plus parts, labor etc. I called Apple. I wish I had gotten the guys name who answered the phone. I described the problem and he told me to turn off the circuit breaker for 10 minutes and see if that resolved the problem. It did! He saved me a minimum of $100.00.
