The Home Depot on Brookhurst in Anaheim is my go-to spot for houseplants. Their garden section is always stocked, and the best part -- they have one of the BEST plant return policies. If your plant dies within a year, you can bring it back (dead plant and all) with your receipt or the card you used, and they'll refund you. Trust me, as someone who does not have a natural green thumb, that policy has saved me more than once. I picked up three plants today, all looking healthy and happy on my patio for now. Once the sun gets too strong or the cold rolls in, they'll be coming inside with me. I love browsing their plant area -- good variety, good prices, and the peace of mind of that 1-year guarantee makes it totally worth it. Dom and Valerie were super helpful inside. I was having a hard time finding something in FW aisle. Dom helped us find the item and let us know that it stood for Front Wall. He walked us right over to what we were looking for and even was friendly with my 2 young kids Valerie helped in the check out. She saw that we were in the middle of checking out and looking at the HD app when a price came up higher than expected and shown in the app. Valerie came over without us even asking and asked us if we needed help when she saw we did. We are in the midst of building an ADU & have been going to Home Depot frequently. They have a lot of things in stock & have helpful employees around. Each location carries different items so sometimes we have to drive around looking for what we want/need. This location on Brookhurst had more medicine cabinets than the other locations & we bought one along with a vanity light. The price for the medicine cabinet on display was less than what rang up. The employee who was at the self-check out lines told me she needed a clear picture of the item number so I went back and took another picture. After that, she stared at the item number for a while & repeatedly stated the correct price is the higher price. I told her I'm aware of that & asked if she will honor the price that is still on display. She told us to go to customer service. I clarified with her, "so they can credit us the difference by honoring the displayed price?" She just nodded her head. Not the friendliest nor the most helpful employee in the store. We went to the customer service & despite looking very young (sorry, imwe thought he may ne a high school student - he may be but we don't know), the employee at the customer service was extremely helpful & quick to understand the situation. Unlike the employee at the self-check out lane who just seemed unhappy to be working there. The employee at the customer service, I think his name is Hunter, quickly credited us back the difference & even an additional $5 for our "troubles". He handled everything professionally, quickly, & while maintaining friendly demeanor. Kudos to the young man. He will do well in his life if he can already handle things in such a calm manner while keeping the smile on his face. read more

Yesterday I went into Home Depot to the kitchen and bath department. Looking to remodel my bathroom but when I go to ask for help I didn't because 5 to 10 male employees were sitting around a desk on their phones talking and laughing so I didn't know if that was break area or what. Tonight was another late night for our construction company getting materials ready for the next day. As usual the Contractor side of the store was closed to check out and exit, but tonight we luckily had two employees help us out going above and beyond the call of duty. First I do believe that one of the Associates was a manager. He was wearing an apron that said Dante and this is my first day. I do know by his demeanor and excellent customer care ; it was not his first day. The other associate I want to mention is Fernando. He helped us with some roofing material going above and beyond the call of duty by catching up to us and answering some questions that the app or labels did not answer. Of course at the end of your workday and you just want to get home. It's nice to have associates who love their job. We just wanted to let them know. We very much appreciate them. read more

The audacity of the Home Depot employees at this location to think that selling you damaged goods for full-price is ok, is completely ridiculous. When the employees rolled out the items we ordered , I thought it was a joke. The packaging was completely destroyed. It looked like it fell off a truck, and sat in the rain for several days before Home Depot picked it up. I'll post the photos so you get an idea of what I'm reacting to. We declined to take these home. And instead we went to a location in Cypress to pick up the items we wanted. I've worked in retail and this would have never been ok to offer to customers. If I were the manager, I'd be completely embarrassed. Especially since this was an easy sale of almost $1K. Good job guys! read more

NOT MILITARY VETERAN FRIENDLY EMPLOYEE- i'm not writing this because i want a "thank you for your service." never did i disclose to the employee that i was a vet and you should give me free stuff. The employee's name is Daniel with long hair and nose piercing and helped me at the checkout counter. the purpose of me shopping was to buy moving boxes- i bought 10+ brand new boxes and right before i walked out the checkout counter, i saw some used boxes that looked like they're about to be trashed.... the ones not for sale. I asked Daniel if I was allowed to get some used boxes because they were about to be thrown away. He responded with "Just because you're military, doesn't mean you get it for free." lol i'm not sure if he thought i was talking about the brand new boxes that i spent $120 on but not once did i ever bring up my military status nor did i want free merchandising- he just found out because i scanned my bar code. a simple "no, we cant or not allowed" was more than enough. well thank you home depot for the discount but sheeeeesh what a rude employee. adds more stress to my moving experience. read more

BUYER BEWARE when purchasing an extended protection plan with Home Depot's appliances. My wife and I bought a Samsung washer, dryer and refrigerator in May of last year. Since Samsung's warranty covers only the first year, we decided to purchase a 3 year Home Depot Protection Plan by Allstate. When our washer began leaking large amounts of water last week, we called the Home Depot on Thursday (5/20) to send out a technician. My Wife spent an hour on the phone getting bounced around from one department to the next before we finally were granted an appointment for today (5/25). She later received a firm confirmation that a technician would arrive between 10:00 and 12:00 this morning. What a joke! They may as well have sent out the Allstate Mayhem Guy. The Home Depot apparently contracted with the cheapest, least professional company it could find; a Corona based outfit called LDA Enterprise. When we called at 12:30 PM to find out why no one had yet shown up, the technician we spoke with said he would not arrive until 5:30, or about 5 and a half hours late!!! He then said it is not uncommon for his company to change appointment times WITHOUT LETTING THE CUSTOMER KNOW! To make matters worse, he said they scheduled two appointments at the same time, in two different cities. Now, is that something you should be telling a customer? Fortunately, we both are retired, so we can afford to have our entire day wasted. Imagine if we were working and needed to schedule time off between the hours of 10:00 and 12:00 waiting for a technician who didn't show up until 5:30 PM. When a guy with the personality of a marshmallow finally arrived at 5:30, he offered no apology, no compassion, no nothing. He showed up in an unmarked car with no company name and spent about 15 minutes with our washer while mostly looking confused, and then said he would order a couple of parts he "thinks" will solve the problem. The parts should arrive in about five days, and his company will let us know when they are ready to be installed. In the meantime, he lowered the water pressure going into our washer, which will cut down on the amount of water we will need to wipe up. We have shopped at this Home Depot location for many years and have spent a lot of money here. It is unfortunate that long-time customers like ourselves should be treated in such a shoddy manner. We look forward to some sort of compensation from the Home Depot for our wasted time and the frustration you have caused. As the Home Depot ads often say: LET'S DO THIS! read more

I have to take time out to write this review! I have been going to another Home Depot for years and pretty satisfied and avoided this location even after moving nearby. I came here for the second time and noticed everyone working here are very friendly and eager to help. If it was just one or two people, maybe I'd lucked out, however, the person at plumbing, older gentleman at carpet isle, a random staff walking by, cashier and another staff at exit were all friendly. I'm not sure if he normally works at this location but he was very knowledgable, professional and nice. I just wanted to say that I had a great experience today at this location. My boyfriend and I were shopping for a grill. We went to self check out to get some assistance. Monse was very helpful and attentive throughout the whole process. She went the extra mile and got two other associates to assist us. (Nestor and I am unsure the younger man's name since I was not there when they were loading it into my boyfriend's truck.) She also made me aware that this location closes an hour earlier than others. What a great experience to have. My boyfriend and I just used the grill we got and we are loving it already. Online Ordering with Pickup Lockers is Human Contact Free Normally I am not a huge fan of Home Depot but I find myself shopping here pretty often anyway. Today was the best experience I have ever had at the Depot! Generally I wander around looking for what I seek then have to ask several employees where to find it and then wait in a long line to buy it. Today I decided to order online via Ibotta to get my cash back rebate. The order was waiting for me in a locker outside the door. I got a text when it was ready with a link which gave me a QR code to scan at the lockers. I signed at the screen. Then magically, the locker with my prepaid order opened. It was amazing and the ultimate in social distancing. Now that I know this is an option, I may shop at Home Depot more frequently. read more
