This restaurant was directly across from the hotel we were staying in. Since it was close and it was so cold outside we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. It was after midnight, so it was a bit on the quieter end (especially considering that it was a chilly night and a bit rainy). We were able to grab a table right away and went to the bar to order drinks. Jackson was attentive and incredibly nice! The drinks were also strong and are well worth the price. I had a Jameson & Ginger while my two friends had espresso martinis. As far as food, during a previous visit, I had the baked Mac and cheese with pulled pork while another friend had the chicken tenders. They are good food options and what you can expect from a typical tavern (hence the name). Returned for dinner with my wife. Had the steak bomb. Burger was better but steak bomb was good. My wife had the cod and she said it was excellent including the mashed potatoes and the spinach. Your pretty average looking dive bar/tavern with incredible food. Living so close to the hill is dangerous and has become our ~almost~ weekly go to spot. They do have weekend brunch which I've never tried but definitely need to. Out of all the times I've been there, you think I would have tried more of their menu but once I found what I like it's hard to break from it. My go-to's are also their nachos with chicken and their green goddess wrap. This wrap is arguably the best wrap I've ever had. It's so good every time. TVs were a little small though Here are the things we ordered: - Mac and cheese: 5/5 this was excellent, very optimal pasta shape (cavatappi!) for peak cheesiness; we even got seconds - Truffle fries: 4/5 not the best I've had but decent. Came with lots of Parmesan on top but the fries were a little over cooked. Nice and salty though - Bruschetta: 4.5/5 the bread was very pillowy and soft, good amount of cheese and tomatoes and drizzle of balsamic on top, would recommend Service was a little slow but good vibes overall. Open til 2am every night, so would be a good spot for a late night hangout. We came to the hill tavern on a Saturday around 5. There was no wait and we could sit wherever. It gave very townie pub vibes. We got drinks right away but it took a while for our waiter to come back for food. The spinach dip wasn't the best, it had a lot of cheese and solidified quick. The pizza was good though! However the service here was very slow and it wasn't even that busy, looked to be only two servers though. We ordered sodas and Arancini balls to start. My company ordered Penne a la vodka, pretty hard to mess up, sauce was a bit bland but wasn't watered down or anything so it was good. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries & also a mac & cheese w/ bacon. I requested the fries to be sweet potato, but they gave me regular fries. Just kept the order because it took forever for the food to come and I was starving. I also requested for another drink and the server forget about it and gave it to me after about 5 minutes. The mac & cheese was good, tasted great with the bits of bacon. The pulled pork could have used a bit more sauce, but the meat tasted just fine. This place has a decent menu and a friendly staff and a nice sized place. But they really could either use another server or something. The place is super cute, still gives a cozy vibes of course, our waitress was really friendly and made our experience that much better. They were playing some Hispanic music which was right up my valley since we're visiting from Miami. Now, the actual was surprisingly good, the tacos had that spicy touch that made them extremely flavorful, both pastas were delicious even though I found that the chicken was a little hard for my taste, but since it was so good I didn't mind at all. When I was ordering, I specifically asked for the burgers to be plain, but got burgers with everything on them. I mean, there were tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. That merits a one star in my book, but after taking off the extra toppings, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and richness of the burger. it was very tasty, and the service was very good too.
