When this place first opened, I absolutely loved it! It has truly gone downhill since opening. I had friends warned me that it was not like it was when I first opened, but I thought they were just exaggerating. I had friends in from out of town and made a reservation. We were seated on time and the server was prompt and attentive. Those are still positives. I ordered the OG burger, medium rare and it came well done and dry. One friend ordered the chicken (Nashville Hot Chick" and said it was not lovable and was over fried. The third person in our group ordered the pork fried rice and said it was "OK" I will give it another chance, in about 6 months... First time trying this place. We made a reservation for 8pm because that's all we saw was available at 5pm. When we got there is took a few minutes for someone to come over and we ultimately decided to give up our table and sit at the bar. I was surprised it wasn't as busy as I thought for 8pm on a Friday. Bar tender was very friendly and great service. The one challenge was they couldn't get the Chiefs game because it was on the YouTube App. I observed 4 people had asked the bartender to change to the game. Food was lived up to what I expected. Very good. Lots of fries given. I would have mixed more bbq sauce into the pulled pork sandwich but that is my personal preference. We called to see if a table was available around 7:00 PM on Saturday to see if there was a table available for our party of three. We were told there was about a ten-ish minute wait so we headed over. Not sure where there was confusing but a note was made on our reservation that we wanted bar seating, which we did not. It took a bit to get that sorted out but all ended well. Loved the vibe of this place. There weren't any open tables when we arrived but they cleared out early-ish. There was a nice sized bar with lots of big screen TVs. Banquette seating was comfortable. Some huge perks that we liked about this place. Noise levels in restaurants can be crazy. It can be that even sitting close at a table people need to shout to be heard over conversations and TVs. All of the TVs were showing a Red Sox game but were on mute so we were able to sit at a table and talk and not have to raise our voices. That was really refreshing and a contrast to dinner we did the night before at a very high end restaurant where I had to shout to be heard. It was so bad we all wound up not talking because it was pointless. Review of that restaurant forthcoming). Another huge perk: our server was Maddy. She was lovely, accommodating and just so pleasant, friendly and professional. We split the fried pickles with aioli (good but I wasn't in the mood for them) and the bacon board as apps. What is a bacon board, you ask? Long answer: Candied bacon, fruitwood smoked bacon, confit pork belly, with pickles, toasts and their bacon-shallot jam. Short answer: Just order this! The bacon and the pork belly were delicious. It was served with their house made bacon jam, a sweet and savory addition that added a lot. We did Five Guys for lunch so I wasn't particularly hungry when we sat for then dinner, then I overdid it with starters so only ate about half of the Alabama chicken sandwich (crispy fried chicken, with cheddar, saw, pickles and Alabama white sauce). It was really delicious and I would recommend it to others. Also excellent were the onion rings. Adding that I had some of the leftover for breakfast. A cold chicken sandwich is just as good. As full as we all were we could not say no to DONUTS! We ordered the Oreo, Reese's and the maple-bacon glazed. They were good, but I am a yeast donut person. These were cake-y and a bit dry. They used to be consistently very good. We always get the nachos, Caesar salad, and a couple burgers to go. Recently, the nachos won't come with as many toppings and the Caesar dressing seems to be different each time. When we order take out, the food is usually ready twenty mins past the time it said it would be ready. Also, we got the burnt ends, but they were all fat and should be advertised as crispy pork belly instead. I hesitated writing this but I keep thinking about how lousy the whole experience was, so here we are. We went for mother's day brunch and initially, I thought about coming back to try the dinner menu but it's not likely that I'll return. Our waitress was unfriendly and I get it, it's mother's day and she's busy but we just felt like (and were treated like) we were a problem from the minute we sat down, even though we were polite and had no special requests. Service was excruciatingly slow. We were there for almost 90 minutes and believe me, we did not linger. 60 + minutes before our mains came. Others around us were experiencing the same. Started off with the cinnamon roll, which was honestly the highlight of this whole outing, but it was small. We were starving when our entrees arrived- the littlest, blandest breakfast sandwich on a tiny novelty-sized bagel, dry french toast that looked like it missed an egg dredge entirely and was just broiled dry and dusted with cinnamon, and eggs benedict that had been cooked hard with not enough flavorless "bacon fat(?)" hollandaise. All served lower than room temp. We ate a few bites and took none of it home. There is a small parking lot in the back or you can park on the street. Reservations are highly recommended. The inside is well decorated. The staff were friendly and prompt. We each started out with a beer and ordered a bacon board as an appetizer. The bacon board was so flavorful. Our main dish was a Big Rig Burger for my husband and a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich for myself. Both well cooked and delicious. We took the donuts to go and they we one of the best we have had. Met up with a friend for dinner on Thursday night. They were busy but not swamped. Our server was on point. She was attentive without hovering. She understood that we were catching up so she didn't rush us. We started with drinks. I had the raspberry ice tea (adult version) Tasted so good I had another. For starter we got the pretzels with beer cheese. The little bit of bacon on the cheese really elevated this app. I got the three piglets taco. Each different but so flavorful. I do wish I could have substituted flour tortillas, not a fan of corn, they get too hard after cooling down. My friend had the Reuben with a side of Mac cheese. She said they were both delicious. I started with a lively morning cocktail called the Get Skrew'd. Which is a coffee drink filled with espresso and PB whiskey. For starters we ordered a donut board. We went for the Reece's, blueberry and the maple bacon glazed. They came out warm and gooey. Delicious! For food I had the cinnamon French toast. Again- this did not disappoint. I was bummed when the BBQ joint that called this building home shut down, but when I heard it was once again opening with a new, established restaurant, I was very hopeful. After eating there, I would have to say that the five star reviews given to this restaurant were either written by close personal friends of the owner, or from people who just don't get out much. The 1 star review by Cindy C really hit the nail on the head. The host was lovely and we were seated quickly. Our server, however, seemed REALLY CHECKED OUT. Half listened, answered questions quickly and minimally, like she had a fire she had to go put out. And yet, from what I could see, she had one other party of two to attend to. I happen to have a thing for hot food...call me crazy, but I just love it when my food comes off the burner and is served with steam rising on the plate. My tacos were just a little above room temperature. Just warm enough to make me question whether I'd get food poisoning. Thankfully I didn't. I wish I could say they were delicious, but they weren't. They were stuffed, and for someone with no discerning palate they would have fit the bill for filling, but I'd rather have a smaller portion of really delicious food that feeds my soul as well as my gullet. Maybe that's a heavy lift for this place. It is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a "gastropub"; it's ordinary pub food that will leave you feeling unsatisfied and your wallet feeling lighter. Ordered food and drinks. One mixed drink did not taste good and seemed off so we asked for a different one. They took it away and gave us a different one. When the bill came they charged us for both and the manager said they would not refund us for that drink. My pork fried rice was just ok. The egg was way over cooked (sunny side up shouldn't be burned on the bottom). I will never step foot in this establishment again. Had been eyeing this spot for a while and finally decided to go for a late lunch. Sadly it was quite a disappointment. We waited at the front for 15 minutes before being sat (there were 2 tables of customers). That aside, we tried the dry rub chicken wings. The wing itself was good but that specific flavor was extremely bland and the price did not justify 6 wings. I got the spicy burger (blood-sweat-tears). It was... alright? It just lacked flavor, it didn't seem like they seasoned the patties at all, along with everything else. I've never added salt to a burger before from a restaurant, but I had to this time and also dip it in ranch to taste anything. The bun was also disappointing. They definitely tried to toast it but went a little too hard and it just crumbled to pieces after the first bite. The bun also seemed like a cheap market basket, bun which is unfortunate. My wife got the fried rice and it was just, meh. 0 flavor, the visual appeal was great. it ~looked~ delicious, but a common theme, very bland. No salt, no soy, just mushy rice with an egg. The pork belly confit sounds intriguing, but it's actually just an unpleasant heap of fat with once again, no flavor. To end on a positive note, the blueberry donut was AMAZING. The bacon in everything strategy works. Excellent beers on tap to cut the grease and leave you feeling full, but not bloated. Pretty solid fried pickles and regular sliced pickles as sides. I've read lots of positive stuff about the haverhill location. This is not Haverhill...what a mess. Rude and nasty bartender was a tough start and I hoped that some kind words might bring a smile.
