First off, I love this little town. It's quaint but feels current, and very walkable. We arrived around 430P and had no issues with parking right across the street. Brandon with the aviation shades, was bartending and doing all the things. He was very nice. We ordered drinks and food with him, and he brought our order to our table. We kept the food order simple. Everything was really good and we shared all of the dishes. Wings - I ordered them sin salsa because I just love a good naked wing Street Corn Fries - these were really good, messy but good Meat & Cheese Board - simple charcuterie Pear & Truffle Flatbread - goat cheese, arugula, basil pine-nut pesto, and a balsamic glaze. This was amazing They have a decent variety of beers on and off tap, and a full bar. I had one brew with my food and it was all good. The vibe is super chill and laid back. The signage is funny, and bathroom is clean. They have a nice sized indoor/outdoor space, and host weekly events. I would definitely love to come back. When we finished up with our kayaking, we passed by again, and the place got packed and was bustling, even on a Thursday evening. Now that our friend had moved to the area, we have a good reason to visit more often. The area is a nice escape from the city.

We had the squash bread with apple jam and the bone marrow + steak tartare as starters. Both were so good, especially the steak tartare that just tasted so clean and fresh, pairing nicely with the richness of the bone marrow. It came with these little potato slices that were scooped out to provide a perfect vehicle for the marrow/tartare. My partner had the carrot tart tartin, which he loved, and my scallops with morel mushrooms were perfectly cooked, with the hazelnuts providing such a nice texture. He enjoyed his phony negroni (they also had other NA options, including other mocktails, an NA beer, and an NA Riesling) and I really liked my Good Shepherd cocktail, their unique take on a dirty martini. We were too full for dessert, unfortunately. The service was great - attentive and friendly, but it felt like we were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed, even though the place was busy. It is definitely on the pricier side and I would recommend reservations as the place was pretty full, but I would absolutely recommend this spot for a delicious, quality meal in Rhinebeck!

Located in the Main Street/Partition Street corridor, there is a cool downtown vibe. Street parking and a Public Lot nearby make for easy access. I got the Egs Benny and it was served with amazing potatoes and a light and tasty salad. Eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Waitress was attentive and accommodating. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and a local craft beer because I could. The Bloody was decent, not mind blowing but still tasty. Oh and I ordered a dozen oysters while I was at it. They were of the small variety but tender, clean and amazing. Prices were reasonable to the area. Definitely will be back. No photos this time, sorry.

Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

They definitely have the best selection in the Hudson Valley and beyond that... I'm just not sure how far beyond. Instead, I'll raise my glass and enjoy the casual pub atmosphere as well as the food and drink. Armed with some suggestions from well-researched friends, we enjoyed our pours here this evening. Prices feel more like we were drinking in Westchester County than Dutchess, but still okay. The information on their bourbons, scotches, and ryes, could be better, not just a brand name. If you enjoy burgers, you really can't go wrong here with any of the selections on the menu, accompanied by well-prepared and crisp fries. The burgers are cooked exactly to order, and these meals will come out quickly. The fries are perhaps a bit "Can we get you another drink?" salty. Service here is friendly and very casual, and you might get some tastings if you sit at the bar. They have stuff going on many evenings during the week. I'm sure they have reasons, but I'm very surprised at their cash-only policy. At least in my own circles, having plastic as a resource very often increases our likelihood of buying additional rounds of drinks. They do have an ATM in the back near the rest rooms. But in future visits, I'll be perfectly happy to exchange cash for my food and drink.

All four people left thinking how is this place still open. The drinks might have been non alcoholic drinks. My wife can't even drink one mix drink without catching a strong buzz after two she felt nothing. We had to go to Santa fa after leaving there and got her real drink. The food was lacking the flavor it once had the fries and rosemary was delicious and the burgers were done perfect and fish fry had a lot of fish in them. Now it is the complete opposite experience. I don't know if they had a chef change or not. If you like flavorless food and batter with fish flavor but no real fish in it this is the place for you. The place is a nice looking old fashion kind of place I hope they can turn it around.

Even though it is a classy setting with views of the dam in the outdoor seating area, they are also very family friendly. They have a kids menu and their drinks came with cute plastic cartoon straw cups. The $17 option comes with ice cream for the kids too. This place could have easily gotten 5 stars if the food wasn't all overly salty (even my kids didn't even eat their fries). It's a pity because everything was plated so beautifully. Their octopus appetizer was not fresh and their ahi tuna was overcooked. When our waiter took our order he didn't ask what our kids wanted to drink even though a drink came with the kids, and we were charged $4 for each when we ordered them drinks. They quickly corrected it when we pointed it out but we also had to remind them about the kids' ice cream (which they mixed up the kids' order too). They did waive the cake cutting fee as we had a party of 10. The only dish that was enjoyable was their roast chicken with black rice. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place to visit if you want a place to relax with a beautiful atmosphere and welcoming to families. The staff were all very friendly and kind.

Who knows what the employees have to deal with on a day-to-day basis to result in service this bad. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. We asked if we could sit at one of the tables closest to the waterfall, and the response was simply, "Well, it's dirty." Mind you, about 90% of the restaurant was empty. We expected something like, "No problem, give us a moment to clean it off." We're very easygoing and would have completely understood waiting a few minutes. Instead, that interaction set the tone for the rest of the meal. We even pitched in to help the bussing staff. When our waitress finally returned, she immediately said, "Oh, you don't have menus? You forgot them. I know I already gave them to you along with your place settings." Apparently it was a set-your-own-table experience. At that point, it almost felt like we were expected to bring our own service as well. The food quality was underwhelming--We've had better charcuterie on a plane--especially considering the prices. Several ingredients that were listed as part of the dishes were missing. When we asked the busser about it, she said she would check with the kitchen, but she never returned with an answer or any follow-up. Honestly, we would have expected the server to check back regardless, but other than taking our initial order, she never returned to our table, even when we tried to wave her over. So yes no one came back after our food was served to ask how everything was, whether we needed anything, or to address the missing ingredients. Once our order was delivered, we were completely forgotten. Good service means checking on your guests, addressing concerns, and making sure they're enjoying their meal. None of that happened during our visit. When we finally approached the manager, the first response was, "Well, did you eat any of the food?" Yes--we each had a couple of bites of the kale Caesar because we were starving, despite it being served without the advertised pork belly, which was the main ingredient. We had already tried to address our concerns in real time, but no one ever followed up. We're far from people who leave negative reviews. In fact, we think this is only the second bad restaurant review we've ever written. The experience was simply that disappointing. Overall, the combination of rude service, poor management, disappointing food quality, missing ingredients, and a complete lack of follow-through made for an incredibly frustrating dining experience. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant, and we won't be returning. The view is absolutely gorgeous, but you're better off grabbing a sandwich somewhere else and enjoying it from the nearby bridge.
