Review specifically for dining, not cafe…read more Spectacular evening with friends at the Farm Table! From start to finish, everything was delightful! Purchasing the suggested pairings (ahead of time) added to the overall experience. We also had wines that were brought on preference and the paired wines won out every time as they perfectly complemented the prepared courses. Our two servers were friendly and attentive, explaining every course and refilling our wines without asking. Present, yet out of the way. The atmosphere is very cozy in the back of the cafe at Talula's Table - the original table as opposed to the smaller kitchen table added a few years back. Reservations still take a year (though it's easier to snag a cancelation or weekday as they recently added online reservations in April 2026). However, it was well worth the wait (and I'm not sure why I waited so long to try it)! We left stuffed between the hors d'oevres, eight courses, bread, surprise course, and plenty of wine to wash everything down. We experienced the Spring 2026 menu and look forward to dining again in another season.

Seated in the lovely main dining room, the walls are a warm rose color with large painting on the walls. Cozy, but not overdone. Our friendly and informed server Marissa answered any questions we had on menu offering and portion sizes. The beverage and cocktail list offers several cocktails, drafts and mocktails that do not look sugary. My request for a sbagliato was prepared to perfection. Mushrooms are a big component of menus here in Kennet Square. We started with the crab stuffed mushroom caps, served as 4 large caps. The generous portion of mushroom soup was creamy and delicious. We shared the ample sized veal and prosciutto bolognese pasta dish was shared. The pasta dish is savory and hearty. We asked Marissa to take away the plate to stop us from hurting ourselves by over eating. From beginning to end our experience at Portobello's was first rate and delicious.

Our server, Olivia was adorable, friendly and served us very well. We all four shared the Starter: Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and crispy Brussels. Absolutely delicious!! I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Linguine which was fabulous. Husband ordered the Ravioli with w Peas and Pancetta lardons. The sauce was superb! What a wonderful dish! Friends ordered Salmon and Veal Parmesan. Everyone raved over every bite! The wine we ordered was delicious, a Tempranillo. This was my husband's and my first experience at Portobello's and we will be back!!

Zappa, C.W.Stoneking, you don't hear this music anywhere around here. Started with an old fashioned which feature a "well bourbon" for happy hour. Don't recommend. Ordered two of the small plates and the highlight was the Thai shrimp. They were huge (12s?) and just fried crispy enough. The chicken wings got the job done. Came with 9, but my GLP drugs only tolerated 6. Overall I would try again, but with Bulleit Rye and just the shrimp. Or the fish and chips.

We were in a hurry because we had to get ready for an event, but as soon as we walked in we were seated right away. The first thing I saw when I looked at the menu, was a Carajillo (Which I was pleasantly surprised that they had it on the menu. It's one of my favorite drinks, especially when I need a caffeine boost and at that time I definitely did!!) I wasn't planning on drinking alcohol, but it was so perfect that I ended up having 2 of them!! Lol For food, I ordered the smash burger and got fries instead of the salad. It was pretty yummy! My cousin's wife ordered the Baba Ganoush and it was delicious!! I was pretty impressed because we had no expectations!

This dish was outstanding! My husband ordered the Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding topped with fresh vanilla bean ice cream. It was incredible! Our friend ordered the Sea Bass with Cauliflower Mash. I actually ordered off the vegan menu because these tacos sounded so good and they did not disappoint! Our burrata was a yummy starter too. My only complaint was that the dinner took two and a half hours! We were definitely chatty and enjoying the night but our server absolutely could have been by more often. It was a weird mix of service because our plates were taken away by bussers very quickly and aggressively yet we were waiting on everything else. We ended up missing our plans for after.

The food gives you that fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. The staff is warm and friendly -- shout out to Chet for his amazing service. They were also very accommodating to our son who was in between napping when we began dining, setting up a high chair for us in a way that would allow him to continue sleeping in his car seat. We started the meal off with some seared scallops that were perfectly arranged. Next, my wife had some seared tuna while I ordered the Colorado bison -- both items off of the special seasonal menu. The dishes were incredibly flavorful and the veggies that surrounded the meat added a nice complement. I also really enjoyed my California cab, as did my wife with her house Manhattan. We will definitely be back next time we are in Delaware, and highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hockessin area!

(Server rectified) The pasta carbonara was prepared using guanciale instead of bacon or pancetta. I found it too rich and almost over cooked. The duck wings appetizer my friend had were excellent. The fresh fish entree was delicious. The cheesecake dessert was a thing of beauty. I would probably try again, but it's a half an hour away. (We passed way too many other restaurants to try)
