Crab fondue with Honey Herb Rolls
Jasmine M.

Lower taste than what I remembered from 2022. Service was lack luster as well. It was great sitting outside until it got too hot. The key lime pie as the birthday perk was a nice touch. Their grill punch was good and the espresso martini with baileys was perfect!

Half chicken, part of their $39 daily special!

Very nicely decorated restaurant located in the Wharf. They have a special going (I think) from 4 - 6 pm every day for $39.00: you can select from a limited menu 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert. Awesome deal! I got a side salad with their house tomato vinegar dressing, the half chicken and a trio of ice cream scoops. Everything was seasoned well, I would say that the chicken tho was very dry. Service was great! I would check this place out for that daily deal alone. IYKYK!

Very vast menu. The cocktails are excellent. They specialize in martinis. The "dirty little secret" martini their basic house martini is surprisingly high level! It's way better than any other high end martini I have had at other martini specialized bars. Food is great quality. The crab fondue is perfect for 2 people to share. Excellent service. Chelsea goes above and beyond! Definitely a 1st class bartender. My wife and I like the low key lighting and atmosphere. Bar seating is plentiful with views of the water. They offer happy hour and dinner specials. Outdoor seating is available when it's warmer! Lastly, They have allagash white beer on tap! I usually go for martinis while I am here. But one day, will make an exception. This is a solid place for a local to frequent.

Burger with sweet potato fries

The food is really good but the place is pricey for lunch. I had the house made vegetable burger with sauteed cauliflower with pine nuts. My dining companions had burgers. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. The menu is varies with something for everyone. The dining area is on the nicer side and right on the wharf.

I met up with a girl friend of mine who I haven't seen in months. We enjoyed the grill punch, while munching on spicy tuna bites and splitting the grill burger. The environment was quiet -- perfect for a girl friend date -- even romantic date. The staff were friendly...I would say they probably weren't as attentive even though the bar was pretty empty...though my friend and I were chatting up a storm. So many they didn't want to bother us. Overall, great experience. I would definitely go back for happy hour again.

We love the Grill and make a point to go very often. The atmosphere is upscale casual (appropriate for the water front in DC). Enrique is our favorite bartender (happy hour at the bar on sundays). Jacqueline is one of the managers and she leads a great team. All are attentive and care about providing a great experience. The food is quality and the Grill punch does not disappoint. I enjoy the lamb skewers, calamari, seasoned fries, burger (all on the happy hour menu). Outdoor seating is available and the bar is great too. We see families and brunch goers or couples -- it seems to work for all. We love to support good restaurants and businesses and the Grill is great!

I stopped by The Grill at the Harbor while visiting The Wharf, craving a good steak. I ordered the New York Strip, cooked medium-well, and while the price was steep at $51, I was really in the mood for steak, so I went for it. The ambience was very nice relaxed and upscale without being too formal. The crowd was minimal, which made for a quiet dining experience. My server was polite, though not particularly engaging or attentive. The steak itself was decent, though not necessarily memorable for the price point. That said, this seems like a great spot for drinks at the bar especially if you're already walking around The Wharf and looking for a place to unwind. Overall, I'd recommend this spot more for cocktails and atmosphere than for the food alone unless you're really craving steak like I was.

Mediterranean Chopped Salad

Food was delicious. Salted-honey herb rolls are a must! I usually like fish or a meat dish when I eat out, but decided to try the grilled veggies with farro. It was delicious and filling. Sweet potatoes are a definite must try as a side. Nancy was our server and she was attentive and provided great service. Friendly managers.

Amazing happy hour! We tried the crispy tuna rice, oysters, crab deviled eggs and a few martinis. Pretty good prices especially being on the wharf and we received great service in the bar area.

Food was great. Came here for thanksgiving. Ordered the Branzino with crab cakes and the Mac n cheese and double baked potato. Everything tasted great. I had a spicy margarita with mezcal. Wish it was a larger serving. The service was great. Ambiance was good as well. Is come again.

So, this is just another restaurant /bar on the District Wharf, that being said the food was quite tasty. The Mussel's .... they were mouth watering fantastic and what made it so good was the white wine, blue cheese, chipotle, cream sauce that they were soaking in. The Lamb kabobs with very tasty. The Grill Burger was good. Overall, really enjoyed our time here. Staff was great, especially David, our server. He was very attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable and very welcoming. We would stop here again and try their grilled upside down pineapple cake.

Ribeye

Best to make reservations online to guarantee seats. The waitress was nice and patient. The food portions were huge! Drinks were good. The view on the deck area was perfect of the wharf. Great place for a meal!!

I went to The Grill for dinner last night and had an incredible experience. The weather was perfect, so we opted for outdoor seating, which added to the vibe. Our server, Natalia, was attentive and made sure everything was just right from start to finish. I started with the Grill Punch--it was huge, super refreshing, and the grilled mango garnish added a delicious twist. My date and I ordered the Mixed Grill special ($79 per person), and it was well worth it. It came with about five starter bites--the bacon-wrapped dates and fried cheese were definite standouts. For the main course, we had a medium-rare ribeye, two lump crab cakes, and grilled shrimp, all paired with their chimichurri sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We chose the grilled sweet potatoes as our side, and they were absolutely to die for. We finished off the meal with the pineapple upside-down cake--massive and insanely good. The Grill never disappoints. I can't wait to go back!

I had never been before, and he was seemed curious to try, so we stopped by. They have outdoor seating, but there was no service at the time, which was too bad because the weather was outstanding. The host is said we could take drinks out there, but not food. So we just opted for the bar. Thankfully, they eventually opened one of the doors real wide so the outdoor air was coming in and that was nice. Happy hour was going until 6:30, and I have to admit that some of these happy hour prices are regular prices at other places XD, but remember it's the wharf. And there was a time when happy hour there wasn't even a thing. So I got a glass of wine and yellowtail tacos with salad. I wasn't expecting the yellowtail to be fried, but it was fine. The salad was way bigger than I thought it would be. It was good. My cousin got the burger and fries... I tasted it and I think I enjoyed the burger more, haha. That smoked cheddar, whew! I found the fries to be pretty average. The ambiance of the place is very nice and I could see myself returning. Some other people at the bar got some amazing looking dishes too, but I know they were expensive XD.

The place was pretty quiet since it was mid-week and there weren't any sports games nearby. We had some wine ($14/glass), stuffies (3 for $13), Waterman's Platter ($36), and Scallops (5 for $36). Everything was very good. The scallops were served with a nice autumnal sauce and brussel sprouts. Waterman's Platter was fried oysters, fish, baby shrimp, and scallops along with fries, onion rings, coleslaw, and dipping sauce. Everything was crispy and nicely fried. The portal was large enough to take about half as leftovers. We were celebrating a special occasion and they brought over two small glasses of sparkling wine (basically half a glass each), which was nice but also a bit tacky to not give a full glass. Like, I would rather you just verbally acknowledge it and do nothing than take a half-measure like that. We had a nice time but a few things could have been better. They were out of the beer I ordered, so I went with wine. The free sparkling was originally on our bill (and billed as a single glass) but the server realized this just before I asked about it and removed it. I was excited to get a milkshake for dessert -- they used to do massive, delicious milkshakes -- but apparently they stopped doing this about a year ago, so we passed on dessert entirely. They still have a 4% surcharge; c'mon, it's far past time to drop these. Prices overall are a bit high for fairly standard food.

Outdoor seating was full, so indoor seating was offered instead, which turned out to be a comfortable and pleasant alternative. The lobster roll was flavorful, though the bun-to-lobster ratio leaned more toward bread than filling (those who know, know). It was also served cold, which was a bit unexpected. The oysters were enjoyable, especially when paired with fresh lemon. They weren't the freshest or most premium selection, and the pricing felt high for the portion size and quantity served, but they were still decent overall.

Parking for me was pretty easy as I found street parking right in front of the restaurant, my cousin parked in the garage. This matchbox is pretty big and it was decorated really nice. The atmosphere was lively during a weekday lunch. They also had WiFi available. They have a $15 lunch special where you can get a small personal pizza and a cup of soup or side salad. I ordered the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich ($19) which comes with a side of fries and a pickle spear. It was just okay. They serve shoestring fries - just like McDonalds, but not as golden and not as crispy. The sandwich had good structure and was filling, but the chicken was bland and dry. I could've used some more sauce. I think I'm used to Nando's chicken which is moister and full of saucy flavor. Other people at the table ordered the fish and chips ($24) which looked good - it came with two large, meaty pieces of cod and the same shoestring fries. Also on the menu - Matchbox now serves sushi! Service was sufficient but a little absentminded, particularly for drinks. Some people never got their water (I think she forgot) and drinks were never refilled - cups were empty. We were checked on a couple of times, but drink service was often overlooked. Food trickled out for our group. It came in about three waves. It was a reasonable wait (nothing offensively long), but it's always nice when the food comes out at the same time, or when some verbal acknowledgement is given to say that everyone's food would be out shortly. I would say food and service were average overall.

Our server, Eliseo, was incredibly attentive and kept the pace of the meal perfect, but the highlight was our Gaucho chef, Matias. From the moment he arrived at our table, it was clear he was a master of his craft. He cuts every selection so elegantly and treats the meat with real respect. We actually found out why he's so skilled: he used to be the meat chef at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen just down the street, where he prepared all the cuts for their famous Beef Wellingtons. That level of expertise really shines through in his work here. Matias took the time to explain cuts of meat to us, and his knowledge of the different meats is top-tier. What impressed us most was his attention to detail--whenever we mentioned we wanted a specific piece charred a bit more, he didn't just say "okay," he took it and charred it for us immediately. He is by far one of the best Gaucho chefs I've ever encountered. A huge thank you to Matias for paying such close attention to our needs and making this a truly special experience. We will definitely be back!
