Food was good, service was fine. Not much to write home about other than the view of the golfers coming in on the 18th green. Ordered the 3 dip pitas and pimento smash burger.

It's so convenient to have this place on property at the vineyard. Perfect for after wine tasting. It's your typical bar and grill, part of the golf course. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. They moved us inside as we were a bit chilly outside. The food was all pretty decent, though nothing spectacular, your typical bar and grill food. The dip trio was good, but the artichoke dip was the best part. A friend and I split a salad and the staff were nice enough to split it on two plates for us. The photo is of one of those split plates, as you can see it is still a massive salad! Also massive was the side order of fries! Seems unnecessary to give us that many fries, but they were really good so no complaints from me ha.

Came on a Saturday morning. The restaurant has a nice view of the golf course and part of the vineyards. My friend reserved a table so we got seated quickly. Shrimp and grits: 4 stars. Large shrimp with savory flavors. Grits was good too but I've had better. Lobster grill cheese: 3.5 stars per hubby. Not too memorable but nice option for hot sandwich. Chicken and bacon with avocado sandwich:3 stars. Decent but I would not order again.

Bottle of The nth Degree at the tasting room

Went to both the grill at the golf course and the wine tasting room and leaving two separate reviews on each of them (5 for the tasting room and 2 for the grill....) I would definitely recommend going to the tasting room and unfortunately wouldn't recommend the grill. Service at the grill was actually pretty good, but the food was not. Both burgers were extremely dry. The salad was fine. The golf course view and wine were the highlights and I'd honestly tell you to eat first and just head to the tasting room instead. We went over to the tasting room after and had an awesome time! Our host was fantastic; informative about the history of Wente, the different wines, and recommendations based off what we like. We went with "The nth degree" and wow. It was a little spendy, but worth the price. So much so that I bought a couple bottles to take home. To sum it up I'd go back & try the golf course and visit the tasting room, but not the grill unless they make some improvements.

With a view like this and a glass of wine sourced from the vineyards, you could do a lot worse than enjoying a lovely meal than the outdoor setting they provide at The Grill at Wente Vineyards. Located deep in the heart of wine country of Livermore, California, The Grill at Wente Vineyards is the sole restaurant/ cafe on the lush grounds that make up the Wente VIneyards property, which not only has a winery complete with wine tasting room, of which I accidentally walked through thinking this was my dining destination, but they also have a private event space, of which they host outdoor concerts, and their own eighteen hole golf course, which is where The Grill at Wente Vineyards actually resides. A group of friends and I were visiting the Livermore area, and wanted to enjoy a lunch within the valley where most of the wineries call home. After looking up what our options were for enjoying an outdoor lunchtime meal among the vineyards, The Grill at Wente Vineyards was one of the first options that came up. My experience with Wente Vineyards consisted of two outdoor concert visits in the past when we were served food and wine before enjoying some live light rock tunes, so when my journey back to this venue after so many years off, things looked quite different especially when there was so much activity going on among the grounds. Thankfully after a wrong turn and visit to the wine tasting lounge, they informed me that the only place to dine was located all the way at the rear of the property. Here's where better signage for visitors would be useful. Once we did arrive, check-in was decent as both their dining room and outdoor patio overlooking their golf course was filled with customers during lunchtime. Upon being sat, they warned us that sitting outside would lead to a number of wasps, I assumed this also meant fruit flies as vineyards tend to attract those but it was the amount of bees that would take over our meal. The food menu at The Grill at Wente Vineyards is separated into categories including Shareables, Salads, Off the Grill, Sandwiches and Dessert. For our party of five we decided to share their Artichoke Dip with Grilled Pita; their Chipotle Pumpkin Hummus, which was a pumpkin and chipotle hummus, topped with roasted pepitas, crispy chickpeas and a drizzle of spiced maple syrup, and their Verde Pork Tacos, which were two corn tortillas topped with slow cooked pork, tomatillo salsa, onions, cilantro, queso fresco, and a side avocado. For our entrées, we were all enticed with the Sandwich section of their menu, with a majority ordering their Steak Sandwich, which seared flat iron steak served with horseradish aioli, aged cheddar, caramelized sweet onion on a toasted brioche bun. One other diner ordered their Fried Chicken Sandwich which had fried chicken, bacon, aged cheddar cheese, roasted garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, served on a toasted bolillo roll. Our appetizers came out first, and we really loved their warm Artichoke Dip even though it looked overcooked with a thick burnt crust on top. The Hummus was serviceable but the real star of our meal had to have been their Steak Sandwich, as it was strips of lean steak cooked to perfection combined with their aioli and cheddar, it was a flavorful meal that enhanced when our table decided to split a bottle of their Wente Vineyards White Wine, and at an extremely reasonable 18 dollars, their 2021 Morning Fog Chardonnay sourced from the Central Coast. Light crisp yet extremely buttery to the taste, this was the perfect wine to enjoy while we roasted out there on their outdoor patio. And the bees were in full flight for our meal, as the meal was overtaken by them as their little spinning fans that I normally see at wineries were of no use whatsoever. We decided to end our meal by ordering two slices of their Key Lime Pie with its brown-butter graham cracker crust and topped with whipped cream. It was the perfectly affordable feast, which at 150 dollars before gratuity was added in, only added to the experience of the perfect glass of wine out on the first hole in the heart of Livermore wine country. Be forewarned this restaurant does share the restrooms with the golf clubhouse, and when I visited they were so unkept which made us wonder where all of their service was going. Here's to hoping more wineries in the area open up their premises for dining and wine tasting in order to make a real destination like The Grill at Wente Vineyards does.

It was brunch with the girl on Saturday, we made reservations, were seated promptly. We went ahead and get a bottle of sparkling wine and it was really refreshing. Overall food is not top notch, but the outdoor seating and the nice weather that day, 72f. Took some photos and walk over the tasting room. Love it, we had a great time and will definitely coming back.

Love this spot for the ambiance and 18th hole food. When the weather is beautiful out, the view and seats outside are perfect for getting some Vitamin D and having a nice meal. You can also catch the golfers finishing their game and see how they finish off their round. The staff are friendly and helpful! They add to the atmosphere which keeps us coming back. With ample parking and clean bathrooms one can't go wrong! The course is gorgeous and even if you're not golfing that day, you can come in to grab a bite and look forward to the next time you can get out on the green. My favorite things to order are their chicken salad, Arnold Palmer (of course!) and fries! They slightly change the menu from time to time which is nice to see what they are offering seasonally. For instance the chicken salad used to come with pickled onions and watermelon radish (first time I tried it and fell in love) and this time I was pleasantly surprised to have pumpkin seeds and pomegranate! The chicken was grilled with a nice brown char too.

My sisters and I recently went to use the remainder of a gift card that was 20 years old. What a pleasant experience! Our service was excellent. The food delicious. We like to share plates so ordered a variety. We started with the Dr. Pepper Ribs and Vineyard Apple Salad. The ribs "fell off the bone", were moist, imparted the hoisin flavor. The salad was fresh, the dressing light and flavorful. A wonderful combination of fruit, greens, nuts and cheese. For our entrees we chose the Lobster Grilled Cheese, Chicken Pot Pie and Roasted Beet Salad. The Lobster Grilled Cheese had a sizable amount of delicious lobster and was not taken over by the cheese. Chicken Pot Pie had enough pastry and plenty of chicken and vegetables. The Roasted Beet Salad had colorful beets roasted to perfection with an array of greens. We skipped the goat cheese, but our server said it was tasty. It's hard to beat a fall day surrounded by vineyards and oaks with a view of the golf course amongst an Audubon Cooperative Certified Sanctuary.

Last night I went there for the 5th time. I've been there on dates and with big groups. Most of the time it has been amazing. This last meal, however, was flawless, and it inspired me to share today. First off, we did not have reservations on a Saturday night, and they were still able to get us 2 seats at the bar in 45 minutes, which was a relief. I was open to going to other downtown Livermore highlights such as Bourbon Pear or Il Campo, but was hoping on a whim we could get a seat at Range Life (which would typically require a reservation), since my date had not been there before. Once we got our seats, we were met with amazing service. At the moment I am not drinking, so I was wondering what kind of mocktails or non-alcoholic beers they had. Beforehand I was also wondering if they had a non-alcoholic aperitivo, since I know they have a lot of amaros and bitters. To my surprise, they did, so I had a non-alcoholic spritz, which was amazing. From there, we were only looking to get the highlighted entrées -- a black cod and a flat iron steak -- but we were also talked into getting one of their tartare/crudo options. We decided to go with the Amberjack crudo, which was absolutely amazing. It had mustard greens, fig leaf oil, and fresh early-season cherries, each ingredient something you were able to truly appreciate. The fig leaf oil, the fish, and the cherries were stunning, with the mustard greens providing a nice balance. From there we shared both the black cod and the grass fed flat iron steak. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful (despite being grassfed) that came with an amazing herb butter, mashed potatoes, and a porcini mushroom sauce that was absolutely to die for. The black cod was cooked to perfection as well -- tender, flaky, reminiscent of the butterfish I always have in Waikiki at Roy's. Accompanied by Iocopi English peas, bok choy, and turnips with dashi butter. The peas were, for what it's worth, probably the best peas I've ever had, and the vegetables were perfection. Light but amazing. The combination of both entrées was outstanding. Lastly, we had the famous Milk and Honey -- burnt honeycomb, olive oil, and malted milk ice cream. I've had it about 4 times now, and yet it was still surprisingly mind-blowing. I know something is truly amazing when I have to close my eyes and imagine the flavors bursting like a scene from the movie Ratatouille. I had to close my eyes to truly appreciate the crispy, sweet but slightly savory honeycomb, the fresh ice cream, and the olive oil for balance. The meal was absolutely flawless, and with the aperitivo, the Topo Chico, both entrées, and dessert, it came to $150 before tip. Honestly, it's a steal. I spent $300 at LB last weekend for a birthday dinner -- granted, I did get some A5 wagyu, an $80 14-ounce ribeye, a bunch of sides, and a couple of non-alcoholic drinks, which was amazing, but hardly a fair comparison. And if you go to the city or Oakland, you can easily spend $300-$500 on a meal, more if they have a Michelin star or two (or three). But for the quality you get, Range Life is an amazing deal. The fact that you can get this quality in Livermore is both convenient and remarkable.

I don't eat too spicy so that was fine for me. If you prefer more spicy I recommend asking to increase the spicy level. Not the best I've had, but overall good I would definitely come back to try more dishes. Just the chicken omurice alone is enough to bring me back!

When…read morewe arrived, the place looked pretty calm with just one large party and a few scattered tables Honestly, perfect timing, because within minutes the brunch rush hit and the place filled up fast. We started strong with the truffle tots: crispy, well-seasoned, and topped with Parmesan. The sauce? Genuinely great. No notes there. The chicken omurice was also a win! flavorful, comforting, and exactly what you'd hope for. My daughter's "bear in a blanket" dish was almost too cute to eat, and our server kindly offered complimentary mini pancakes for my toddler (which we didn't even know was a thing). They were adorable and surprisingly good, even without syrup. I also ordered the cloud matcha, which was delicious. Now... the duck Benedict. I'm saving it for last for a reason and not a good one. It was, unfortunately, a complete miss. It lacked flavor in a way that was almost impressive. Like... aggressively bland. The spinach and tomato completely overpowered the duck, and even tasting the duck on its own didn't help. It was giving absolutely nothing. Nothing. I'd honestly suggest pulling it from the menu until improvements can be made. Overall, I'd return for everything except the duck Benedict. Hard pass on that one.

For dinner, I ordered the smash burger, though it wasn't really a traditional smash burger and felt more like a regular burger with two very thick patties. That said, it was still good. The fries were hot and fresh, and our server was very kind. My husband enjoyed his fish tacos. They needed some salsa on the side though, which we asked about but it wasn't spicy. We also noticed they were promoting their upcoming Easter brunch at the time and we were looking for a spot for Easter too. Making an Easter brunch reservation was easy and smooth. The staff member on the phone was helpful and accommodating when we needed to adjust our headcount. We arrived 30 min before our reservation but they were able to seat us which we appreciated. The brunch itself was decent, but I'm not sure I would return for the value. It was a buffet-style brunch that included coffee, tea, and sodas. The prime rib needed a bit more flavor, we didn't see any au jus which would've helped, although it was nice to have a carving station and a made-to-order omelette bar. Some of the hot items were kept in warming trays but were more lukewarm than hot. They advertised waffles, but I didn't initially see any on the buffet, so we asked. A staff member mentioned they had batter available and kindly made fresh waffles for us in the kitchen. They were brought out beautifully topped with strawberries, cinnamon, and whipped cream. When we requested another order, we asked a different server for the same preparation, but the staff member who originally made them was back at his station, so we received a plain waffle instead. When we asked another server for strawberries, he somewhat abruptly and rudely pointed us to the buffet and said there was fruit available over there outside. We checked, but there were no strawberries at that time, so we didn't pursue it further. Later, when we ordered waffles again, there were still none on the buffet. I happened to speak with the same server again (that pointed to the fruit earlier), and he rudely said there were waffles out and we could get them ourselves, but then I told him that there weren't any as I had just come from there, and he acknowledged the issue. It seemed that items were not being consistently monitored or restocked. Unfortunately, the second round of waffles did not come out the same as the first and were missing the strawberries and whipped cream. However, the omelette station cook noticed and kindly brought us whipped cream when he passed by, which we appreciated. Overall, the ham was quite good. The salad selection felt a bit weak and looked wilted, and the dessert area was sparse with items not consistently refilled. The salmon was also slightly dry and could have benefited from more of the cream sauce. Positives: good dinner burger/fries, kind server, easy reservation process for Easter brunch, omelette station cook was very kind, some standout items (first waffles, ham) Negatives: inconsistent service, lukewarm buffet items, missing restocks, dry salmon, weak salad/dessert spread, and uneven guest handling (waffle/fruit issue + staff confusion)

I ordered a 3 meat combo and wasn't completely disappointed but noticed a decline in quality. The burnt ends felt rushed. Had a chewy dry texture. This is frustrating because it used to be the sole reason I'd stop by, rednexican nachos with burnt ends! The jalapeno cheddar sausage was ok but was missing that snap. However, The wings were stellar! Parking in downtown Livermore on a Friday night should be an Olympic sport. I'll be back as it is Still one of the better spots for barbecue out of the slime options in the area.

The ambience always is great, good music, good crowds, always something to watch for those who just want to kick it and have a drink. The reason for the three star review is that I cant help but notice that the quality and portioning of food has diminished from prior experiences i had here in the past years. To make it worse, prices have only gone up due to inflation. We had the rednexican nachos, burnt ends, sliced brisket ends and fried oreos. The nachos and the fried oreos were great as usual, but the entrees, not so much. The temps were off and the taste was not there, it has not been for the past two visits for us. Not sure if it's the product itself or the preparation of it, but it's just not the same quality i was used to. It's still a good spot to visit, but I wouldn't recommend it as a go to BBQ spot in the Livermore area.
