Definitely wouldn't go back again. The waitress definitely profiled us (not old white rich ppl). She even said oh that's a fake money (paid with a $100 bill. Service sucked. Hamburger was raw after I said very well done. She gave me free potato chowder and that was super yummy but salty.

We visited the green flash after a day at Bowman's Beach for an early dinner. Always great scenery limited seating though so we couldn't sit outside but great view from the inside. The staff was super friendly. Everyone greeted us. The food was pretty phenomenal as well. I got the grouper sandwich which is their signature sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Very flavorful for the fish. The kids food got eaten up. They loved it and the drinks were yummy as well. The shrimp quesadilla was phenomenal too. I've never had a shrimp quesadilla and my wife let me have a bite. She loved it and my bite was delicious as well. Would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Still one of my go to places on the island for some food & cocktails, even if it has become a lot more "touristy" over the years. We went around lunchtime after the beach and were able to grab a spot at the bar despite a long wait for tables. The sunny view is nice and their key lime dessert is still great :)

Had a wonderful dinner with family, had a few issues with service. Bringing wrong items 2 times and extremely long waiting for dessert should have skipped as it was meh, took longer for that than dinner. Love the outside dining with almost all music being great like old 50-60. We like the older crowds which is mostly what you get. Second time visiting, will be back

Our group stopped in for lunch on a Saturday while boating around Captiva Island. We arrived around noon and there were still a few spots to tie up your boat. We navigated in and made our way up the dock. The restaurant is very pretty from the outside. It overlooks the water with lots of windows bringing in natural light and one of a kind views. We were seated right away for our party of 4. Not long after we arrived a Bachelorette party arrived on a tiki boat which I thought was so cool. By the looks of the restaurant, this is a go to spot for many. Our server mentioned some different cocktails and special menu options and I took her lead. I can't remember the name exactly, but I ordered almost like a pint colado but on the rocks with more of a pineapple taste. The drink was so good. It was tropical and refreshing. Just what I wanted on the warm day. My brother and I ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich with pineapple. The chicken was delicious and cooked perfect while saying juicy. The sauce and sweetness of the pineapple made for a great combination of flavors. It was also topped with tomato, onion, and lettuce. A pickle spear and small side of coleslaw were also plated with chips. Everyone enjoyed their meal and nothing was outrageously priced. We then got back on the boat and off we went.

This was a great dinner spot. The sourdough was a delicious starter. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp, which were HUGE. There were a good amount too, making them very filling. I ordered the salmon, which was also a great choice. We expected the price to be more expensive but it was very reasonable.

March 2026 - Stopped for a morning cup of coffee and a homemade cinnamon roll. The coffee and roll was good as was the service. The morning view over the water was fantastic. Try it, you'll like it.

Love the flash! Best taste around! I always bring my out of town guest here! Always great service and beautifully prepared as well. Last night was no exception! Ahi Tuna appetizer perfectly seared and sauce adds the sweet, along with the fresh ginger altogether is so tasty. My Stuffed Grouper was full of crab meat and the Bernaise added a rich flavor. SOS had the Atlantic Salmon and loved it. Since was her first time to Florida, we had to have Key Lime Pie. The best flavor and presentation! Beautiful view to watch the July storms come in.

our server was jill. Super nice outdoor seating, right on the water. Our service was prompt and the food was great. Got the shrimp bisque which was delicious, and girlfriend got a very boozy Pina colada which was good. Main entrees were the burger sliders, which she enjoyed, and I got the coconut shrimp, which were large and juice. the side of tangy sweet sauce that comes with was great as well. Prices were reasonable. Would go back again.

Really 3 1/2: 3 for food, 4 for ambience Three of the 4 of us really enjoyed the green flash sandwich a panini with turkey, melted cheese cold slaw and pesto. It was hot, crispy and very good. The accompanying kettle chips should have been made natural in house with fresh potato slices. As served they were store bought - OK. The crab cake sandwich was ok, but not outstanding. The location and views are really nice.

"Island Time"? Hawk tuah I pulled up to Green Flash on Captiva by boat with a group--feeling very Jimmy Buffett meets classy tourist--only to learn that apparently guests arriving from the water are invisible. Two hostesses stood at the podium with more empty tables behind them than a Tuesday high school cafeteria, yet I still had to politely ask to be seated outside. Fine. Whatever. Vacation vibes. Then came the fun part: 10 full minutes of sitting at a table while a parade of servers expertly avoided eye contact like it was an Olympic sport. They chatted. They laughed. They walked by us with the determined focus of people pretending to look busy. What they did not do was acknowledge our existence. No water. No "be right with you." Not even a nod. I've had better service from a gas station self-checkout. And listen--I'm the kind of customer who will happily pay any amount of money for a solid, effortless experience. Throw an extra $40 on the bill for "vibes"? Fine. But you have to give me something. Even a crumb of humanity. Or a glass of water! After 10 minutes of this Captiva performance art piece called "Pretension in Paradise," I stood up and walked out. No one noticed. Which, honestly, felt perfectly on-brand. So if you've ever wondered whether the rumors about Captiva-style island snobbery are exaggerated--rest assured, they are not. Green Flash: great view, impressive commitment to ignoring paying customers

    Dummy blocking access

First, the food was quite good. This review is about wheelchair access. There is an elevator but it was turned off because of an issue. The manager was able to turn it back on again for our visit. The bathroom had a very narrow entrance hall with a sharp turn. In that turn was a full sized male manikin that I was not able get past without shifting it and having a friend hold it away. Leaving the restroom, the manikin fell into me and I had to call my husband into the ladies room to rescue me. When I informed the manager of this, she shrugged and told me that I was the only one who ever had an issue. WtF? I was literally attacked by the stupid thing and had to be helped. Oh well? I didn't make a big issue of this while there because I didn't want to embarrass my friends but if you are in a wheelchair, you might want to pee before you go here.

The food is decent -- you won't find fine dining here, but that's not really the point. The menu hits the beach bar essentials with fresh seafood, burgers, and a few island favorites. Service is friendly and efficient, even when the place gets busy, and the live music adds a great coastal vibe without overpowering conversation. It's the kind of place you drop into after a day at the beach, grab a drink, and just enjoy the scene. With its multi-colorful exterior it makes you feel in vacation mode just looking at it. They have an equal amount of indoor an outdoor seating, and we opted for outdoor when we came for breakfast. RC Otters is open the earliest of the few restaurants on Captiva, aside from Starbucks if you count that. All of the standard breakfast offerings were on the menu, plus a special of theirs is a breakfast sandwich that's an omelette wedged between two pieces of french toast. Kind of fun. The food was good, nothing stellar but it was decent. It was altogether an enjoyable morning with the colorful setting. They are open all day for other meals so can't speak to how the lunch or dinner food is, but we enjoyed the breakfast.
