We came to the Keylime Bistro to get one thing- Key Lime Pie, of course!! Honestly, it was quite expensive. $10 per pierce- buttt when we saw the size of the slices, you at least get a bang for your buck. We also just walked in after dinner one evening and one of the servers got us rang up and got our dessert pretty quickly which was nice. The key lime was lovely. It was the right amount of tart, along with the whipped cream and some tart raspberry /lime syrup and it was a splendid combination. It was the perfect dessert to enjoy after a nice beach day and staying in paradise on Captiva. Can't speak for the actual food but the restaurant is super adorable and has half indoor and half outdoor seating and it's really nice. Plus, great key lime pie! read more

Super fun place to sit outside, grab some drinks, and listen to live music! I believe they have live music daily, which is awesome. The weather was perfect when we went, and it made sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere even better. Parking is limited, so it's best to walk if you can, though there are a few nearby spots available. I had the Pink Flamingo drink, and it was delicious! We didn't order food, so I can't speak to that, but I saw plenty of people enjoying meals around us. Great vibes all around, definitely come check it out! read more

Key Lime Bistro nailed it! The salmon with crab and key lime hollandaise was rich, bright, and downright dreamy. The carrots and parsnips had a cool twist, the broccoli actually tasted like someone cared, and the rice had this subtle sweetness--almost vanilla-ish--that totally worked. My brother loved the Voodoo chicken, "all the flavors exploded in my mouth at once". The rest of the fam loved the zesty scampi. Little extras made the night: sesame crackers with drinks, juicy red grapes, and a bold, addictive pimento cheese situation (basil? garlic? a little kick? yes please). We thought this was going to be a normal review but it went sideways. We only had about an hour and they were not that busy. It was a limited after 1pm when we came in. We ordered a tuna appetizer and after eating about half of it we for a hair under the Wasabi sauce. I went and told the waitress and she apologized and said they would take it off the bill and make is a new one. The new one came and we didn't have any issues. We were waiting for our food after that for awhile. We watched as others who were sat after us were already receiving their food/orders but we hadn't. It was like 4 tables we watched. It's not like we ordered something weird? We waitednow about 45 to 50 minutes and we had enough. So we asked for the check and for our orders to be boxed. That took another 10 to 15. We paid and she apologized but we had to go because of the parking. A quick meal turned into one of the worst in recent history we had. We ate back at the room and my wife said they crab cakes were salty and my chicken club was really dry. My wife really wanted to eat here since the last time we were in captiva, but man were we dissappointed. read more

We stopped in here for a quick breakfast after a few hours of shell-hunting down at Blind Pass. This was at about 10am on a Wednesday morning, mind you. The place was completely empty. We were the only patrons. Waiter was great- we sat outside and ordered coffee for me and a mixed drink (tasted like a girl-scout thin mint shake with booze!) for my wife. There was some sort of event going on across the street- ground breaking or something similar for a new building. Lots of spiffy people zooming around in Range Rovers and Bentleys. Blah blah blah... I hid my Rolex so no one would think that we were part of the entourage. Wife ordered eggs and bacon and I ordered the sirloin tips and eggs. The restaurant got a few more tables as we waited. Everyone seemed laid back and truly on island time. Our food arrived along with a refill of my coffee. Everything was delish. We cleaned our plates... breakfast potatoes were especially good. We will return next year, as we make our yearly pilgrimage to Captiva every October. read more

Keylime Bistro was amazing! We went for breakfast, and the staff was absolutely wonderful. It was a little chilly, so we sat inside after walking over a mile up the beach and decided to give it a try--so glad we did. The breakfast skillet I ordered was so good. The meat literally melted in your mouth, and the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and didn't need anything extra. My husband had the eggs Benedict, and since he's pretty picky, that's saying something--he loved it. There were little kids running around, and the staff was incredibly kind and patient with both the kids and their parents, which really stood out to us. That alone made it a favorite, but combined with the great food and service, it's a definite must-visit. We absolutely plan to be back on our next visit! read more

Spent 10 days in this general area ( Captiva & Sanibel ) after going to several different restaurants and this was the worst meal of them all ... My wife and I had the red snapper , which was way over cooked ( you think they could prepare fish correctly in Florida) ... the broccoli was hard as a rock ...the rice and crackers were ok and the iced tea was watered down ... I made sure to mention to the waiter to tell the cook about the rubbery fish when we were done ... The last night in Florida ( vacation ) eating this stuff was not a pleasant experience ... They are back! We were so excited to visit and eat at The Key Lime Bistro last Wednesday! The place looks so good ! We ended up parking down the street by the Surf Shop but it looked like there was parking behind the restaurant, too. There was a one man band playing outside and he was very entertaining. The food was delicious . I had the grouper and my husband had the stuffed grouper with lobster. My key lime martini was made with Blue Chair Bay Rum Cream! Service was good , however quality of pasta dish was not! Pasta was not cooked through and aldente- tasted like floury chewy sticks. This was brought to server's attention and food sent back to be recooked/ new pasta to be dished onto plate .Fifteen minutes later , at the end of partner's meal, we requested to take the pasta home as takeout (seeing as we had shared the one plate of partner's food.) The takeout meal is exactly the same as what was served the first time. Not sure if the staff just waited fifteen minutes and then brought the same plate back or if they really recooked more pasta-just the same! That meal was awful. As residents of this island we like to support local business but it's sad when you know we could have had a better pasta meal at home. read more

Both meals were very good and for a remote island, fairly priced. Tonight I had the Loco Risotto, planned to eat half and take the rest home, didn't happen. Just too good. We arrived to this restaurant without a reservation and it was around 7:30 when we were seen by a hostess ( it was packed so i don't blame them being stressed) The hostess offered a indoor table but we wanted a outdoor one and didn't mind waiting another 10 minutes for one. we are finally sat at our table, but without utensils or menus. after about 20 minutes?! our server showed up and was kind and apologetic for the wait time. She told us about the restaurant and seemed to have a pretty good sense of what she was doing which we all appreciated!. Food took a little over 45 minuets which was a little bit of a long wait but we understand it was busy. Now time for the food, the salmon came out completely raw which was really disappointing because you would think with the 45 minuets they'd at least cook it. the pasta my sister ordered came out uncooked also. If a Key lime pie had a baby with a cheesecake and they fostered some sweetened condensed milk on the side, it would be this decadent thing. Indulgent without being overly sweet or heavy. I have been coming to Sanibel/Captiva for years! We have not been to the Keylime Bistro except for the last few years. The first time we visited was in the height of COVID so our order was to go. It was not a great experience. I know that this is a fan favorite but apart from the key lime pie we are not a fan. The restaurant has a very islandy, key west feel. On some nights, they have live entertainment. Our food did not have much taste or flavor, the pasta was clearly not drained and the chicken was not grilled or baked, almost seemed to be steamed and it was cold. The staff as well was not overly friendly, they didn't great us and we actually had to wait quite a long time for someone to stop and help us. I will say though, their key lime pie is absolutely amazing! One of the best I have ever had! We have gone back numerous times to order just the pie, even ordering a whole pie to celebrate our parents anniversary. And again every time we go inside it is the same treatment received from the staff. No one wants to help, pretty much just get ignored. I'm spending money at your location you would think you would want to assist. They do have seating inside and outside which is nice and some people really enjoy. We do not enjoy as we always visit in the summer. We are yearly Sanibel/Captiva visitors for the last 30+ years. There are so many restaurants that we absolutely love, I don't think we will be visiting this again except for the key lime pie. read more

I bit aggravated. We called for reservations and they said first come first serve. We went the next day.. day they were supposed to be open but there was a sign saying they would reopen next week. We drove out of our way to to captiva... why they didnt mention they were closing when we spoke on the phone. Perhaps they had technical difficulty like oven broke. Anyway instead of eating there we only had their famous keylime pie .. unfortunately my husband bought 2 peices and we got it to go. I've been coming to Captiva Island since 1987 and finally tried Key Lime Bistro. I was not impressed. We sat outside, where they had live music. It was a guy with a guitar, who if you actually watched him you would see he was not playing, but it was a soundtrack and he would occasionally strum! His voice was terrible- I mean laughable awful. And he sang depressing songs, not your typical upbeat vacation feel-good stuff. Food was good. However, We spent $38 after tip for two sandwiches and a water. We were still hungry afterwards as the fruit side was a thin slice of cantaloupe, thin slice of pineapple and a wedge of orange. Most places would call that garnish not a side of fruit. Beer prices were high. Service was mediocre. I will not be back. read more

The place was packed when we got here Thursday night. They have live music and a lot of outdoor tables. We had bruschetta for an appetizer which comes with yummy cheese melted on top. My boyfriend and I shared the grouper stuffed with lobster (the fish was slightly overcooked) and the seafood risotto. Both were okay.
