Key Lime Bistro nailed it! The salmon with crab and key lime hollandaise was rich, bright, and downright dreamy. The carrots and parsnips had a cool twist, the broccoli actually tasted like someone cared, and the rice had this subtle sweetness--almost vanilla-ish--that totally worked. My brother loved the Voodoo chicken, "all the flavors exploded in my mouth at once". The rest of the fam loved the zesty scampi. Little extras made the night: sesame crackers with drinks, juicy red grapes, and a bold, addictive pimento cheese situation (basil? garlic? a little kick? yes please). Service was spot-on, the vibe was easy and fun, and the live music sealed it. Rinaldo, the one-man band, brought the groove with the flute and matched the atmosphere perfectly. Our waitress, Jennifer was really attentive too. Great food, great sound, great night. Would absolutely do it again. @ ac17c insta

Close up of hair that was in out tuna appetizer

We thought this was going to be a normal review but it went sideways. We only had about an hour and they were not that busy. It was a limited after 1pm when we came in. We ordered a tuna appetizer and after eating about half of it we for a hair under the Wasabi sauce. I went and told the waitress and she apologized and said they would take it off the bill and make is a new one. The new one came and we didn't have any issues. We were waiting for our food after that for awhile. We watched as others who were sat after us were already receiving their food/orders but we hadn't. It was like 4 tables we watched. It's not like we ordered something weird? We waitednow about 45 to 50 minutes and we had enough. So we asked for the check and for our orders to be boxed. That took another 10 to 15. We paid and she apologized but we had to go because of the parking. A quick meal turned into one of the worst in recent history we had. We ate back at the room and my wife said they crab cakes were salty and my chicken club was really dry. My wife really wanted to eat here since the last time we were in captiva, but man were we dissappointed.

we come here as a family and they always accommodate us - about 20 people. Ambience is their main selling point. Food is ok. right next to the beach so location is great. Good live music but overall a good experience!

The Chocolate Mint frozen drink. Tasted like a boozy thin mint!

We stopped in here for a quick breakfast after a few hours of shell-hunting down at Blind Pass. This was at about 10am on a Wednesday morning, mind you. The place was completely empty. We were the only patrons. Waiter was great- we sat outside and ordered coffee for me and a mixed drink (tasted like a girl-scout thin mint shake with booze!) for my wife. There was some sort of event going on across the street- ground breaking or something similar for a new building. Lots of spiffy people zooming around in Range Rovers and Bentleys. Blah blah blah... I hid my Rolex so no one would think that we were part of the entourage. Wife ordered eggs and bacon and I ordered the sirloin tips and eggs. The restaurant got a few more tables as we waited. Everyone seemed laid back and truly on island time. Our food arrived along with a refill of my coffee. Everything was delish. We cleaned our plates... breakfast potatoes were especially good. We will return next year, as we make our yearly pilgrimage to Captiva every October.

We were here last night, we both ordered salads, we were the only ones sitting outside listening to a guy singing and playing his guitar. Our beer was cold and our salads were awesome! Our server Jose, was very polite and attentive. Will definitely visit again.

My fault for not asking 1st but $35 for this tiny blackened grouper sandwich.... Wow!!

$35 for this tiny blackened grouper sandwich. I guess my fault for not asking how much when it said market price... but c'mon...

First of all most restaurants have great food so it's about the service. I've got two dogs. The owner is the one that seated me very friendly guy that makes me wanna come back so in a day of hiking along the beach with my dogs I just want a virgin piña colada. They've got my business.

This place is frozen in time that makes me celebrate my inner child and love my current life all at once. This spot is so quirky, it's Christmas all year round, you're surrounded by antiques and collectibles and then the menu is filled with things from land and sea that are delish. I do believe this visit was the first time I have ever had an alcoholic beverage t the Bubble Room since the majority of my memories come from begging my parents to take me to get orange crunch cake as a kid on our summer vacation (still slaps). I opted for a French martini and this was so good! Their twist on the classic drink has basil and I enjoyed that refreshing twist. For dinner, we started with crab cakes and I got the Prime Rib. It was HUGE, and perfectly cooked. If you go to the Bubble Room, it is imperative that you order desert. I don't care how full you are, and I don't care if you do not like dessert. The cakes here are ridiculous. I still remember fighting over them growing up - and it's amazing that after 20+ years of eating them, they taste just as good every time. The best is without a doubt the orange crunch cake, but I also love the coconut cake. There is something about a place that remains the same no matter how much you change. The Bubble Room is a place that has earned icon status, and I am so happy to see it not only reopen, but packed with families making memories. Service is super friendly. Our server, Bob, was awesome!

After arriving at the advertised location, we were told the restaurant had moved and had to take a trolley 10 minutes away in the dark just to find it. When we finally arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, but manager Alex refused to seat us because we didn't have wristbands. Nowhere online, on Google, or at the original location was this requirement disclosed. We offered to pay cash or credit card and were still turned away. No apology. No attempt to help. No solution. The most troubling part came afterward. While waiting for the trolley back, I overheard Alex allow another couple without wristbands to dine, despite telling us it was against policy. The only obvious difference was that they were a white couple, while my girlfriend and I are an interracial couple. I don't make accusations lightly, and I rarely leave negative reviews. As a longtime business owner, I understand the impact reviews can have. But this experience was unacceptable. The only bright spot was a waiter named Knox, who showed genuine empathy and tried to help. He was the only person there who seemed to care about customer service. Every other restaurant in the area was packed that night. This one was empty. After our experience, I understand why.

This turned out to be one of our favorite stops on the island so far! We were lucky enough to have Rene as our server--friendly, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. She offered thoughtful recommendations and never missed a beat, even with a larger group. Let's talk food & drinks: Key Lime Frozen Drink - My brother ordered this and it was the standout of the day. Creamy, tart, and tropical. Like Key Lime Pie in a glass! Chicken Tenders & Fries - My daughter gave these a big thumbs up. The fries were golden, crispy, and super fresh--not greasy at all. Chicken BLT - I ordered this and skipped the brioche bun (though it looked amazing!). Even bun-less, it was flavorful and satisfying. Blackened Grouper Tacos - My dad went with these and they looked fantastic--fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. He also had a Rum Runner, which was strong, smooth, and perfectly blended. (Not for the faint of heart!) The poolside ambiance was exactly what you want on a sunny island day--lively music, a splashing fountain, and a relaxed crowd. We didn't feel rushed, and it was easy to just settle in and enjoy the afternoon. Whether you are staying on the island or visiting for the day, definitely make time to stop here. The place is casual, rustic, and come as you are. Got our drinks pdq. We decided to share a combo pot. But after some soup. Got the conch chowder. It came in a large, pretty plastic conch "shell". It was slightly spicy, but not much. In fact, there's hot sauces on the table if you need more heat. There was a nice amount of ground conch pieces in a tasty tomato based broth. It was big enough to share, btw. Then we got their combo steamed pot -- 1 dozen clams and 1 dozen oysters. This takes awhile to cook as we knew it would. So if you get one of these, order soup or an app while you're waiting. The clams are the cedar key ones. Small but tasty. We didn't use the melted butter, but asked for cocktail sauce instead. The oysters -- which you have to shuck with the provided knives -- were wonderful! I'd probably get all oysters next time. In the bottom of the pot are celery and onions which you can also eat.
