    Shrimp and grits

I used to really like this restaurant, but this last visit was definitely a let down. It is very close to the beach and a good spot to see the sunset. We came thinking they would have pizza, but found out the pizza and restaurant menus rotate due to lack of staff. The mozzarella sticks were good and the sauce for that stands out as an excellent marinara.I had the shrimp and grits but they were bland and not very good. The shrimp were large but the dish overall was not very good. The restaurant smelled like chemicals and I ended up feeling sick by the end of the meal. While I do like the modern updates to the atmosphere, the food was not as good as before and I left pretty disappointed.

We were excited to try the Crow's Best Steakhouse as it was still under construction last time we were in Captiva Island. The restaurant is in a newly created space on the second floor of the restaurant building at Tween Waters Resort. This is a beautiful space with just 9-10 tables and a horseshoe shaped bar with seating around it. Beautiful big windows with views of the resorts private beach, the ocean and sunset. We sat at the bar and ordered dinner. The bartender is Cecilia and she was friendly, helpful and kind. The menu has quite a few items listed to choose from. We ordered French Onion soup($14), Prosciutto wrapped Prawns with Mac n cheese ($21), Filet Oscar is a Filet with lump crab meat on top with a Berenaise sauce with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables ($68) and three glasses of wine ($15, $15 & $16). The French Onion soup was very tasty and I recommend it. The Prosciutto Wrapped Prawns were not my favorite...the prawns themselves were huge but the Prosciutto really took away the flavor of them. The Mac n cheese it is served on top of was quite bland tasting and not something I enjoyed. This dish needs some work. The Filet Oscar...the filet itself could use a bit more seasoning, but the lump crab meat with berenaise sauce was tasty. The roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables were also very tasty.

Good food (great steak), location, and occasion, our 25th anniversary, all good! Very pricy, yes, but worth it for a special occasion. I would have to say, with so many places still rebuilding after Ian, it is so meaningful to give support to the places rebuilding!

Our dinner upstairs was phenomenal and made the sunset view on the gulf, seem like a minor detail in the evening.

We also just walked in after dinner one evening and one of the servers got us rang up and got our dessert pretty quickly which was nice. The key lime was lovely. It was the right amount of tart, along with the whipped cream and some tart raspberry /lime syrup and it was a splendid combination. It was the perfect dessert to enjoy after a nice beach day and staying in paradise on Captiva. Can't speak for the actual food but the restaurant is super adorable and has half indoor and half outdoor seating and it's really nice. Plus, great key lime pie!

We were so happy to see that they rebuilt and the outside, in particular, looks almost the same! We have always ordered the crab cakes, spinach salad, and Keylime pie. My friend, who lives here, also ordered a Keylime martini. First of all, our waiter, Sal, gave her an outdated menu, so when she ordered the martini for $10, she was charged $15. Then the crab cakes came and they now look like they came from Costco. We asked Sal if they were made in house, and he said they were. Really? Today we ate at the Fresh Catch on Ft Myers Beach. I am posting pictures of the 2 crabcakes from Keylime. which cost me $18.00 and the 3 crabcakes I bought today for dinner at the Fresh Catch Bistro on Ft Myers beach for $15.00. If you're reading this, you decide which ones you wanna buy.

The Bubble Room has been open on Captiva Island longer than I have been alive. After Hurricane Ian,…read morethey closed briefly to rebuild and this summer we finally were able to go back. Wow. This place is frozen in time that makes me celebrate my inner child and love my current life all at once. This spot is so quirky, it's Christmas all year round, you're surrounded by antiques and collectibles and then the menu is filled with things from land and sea that are delish. I do believe this visit was the first time I have ever had an alcoholic beverage t the Bubble Room since the majority of my memories come from begging my parents to take me to get orange crunch cake as a kid on our summer vacation (still slaps). I opted for a French martini and this was so good! Their twist on the classic drink has basil and I enjoyed that refreshing twist. For dinner, we started with crab cakes and I got the Prime Rib. It was HUGE, and perfectly cooked. If you go to the Bubble Room, it is imperative that you order desert. I don't care how full you are, and I don't care if you do not like dessert. The cakes here are ridiculous. I still remember fighting over them growing up - and it's amazing that after 20+ years of eating them, they taste just as good every time. The best is without a doubt the orange crunch cake, but I also love the coconut cake. There is something about a place that remains the same no matter how much you change. The Bubble Room is a place that has earned icon status, and I am so happy to see it not only reopen, but packed with families making memories. Service is super friendly. Our server, Bob, was awesome!

The food was still amazing and the place looks the same with minor changes since the storm. The disappointment here is the front end. They hired a very childish boy as a hostess. Flamey and rude. Very dramatic and rather than trying to help people ( such as locating a restroom) he spews a very long story about where it is instead of pointing to it two feet away. He was talking and laughing about a customer when I came out. I presume me I only needed to wash my hands. He's lucky I didn't tell him off but I didn't want to let him ruin our evening and have my husband hear. He's ( Anthony) a little punk though.

It's a beautiful bar, but there is limited seating and when they're at capacity they lock the door, so be patient and suggest coming in a smaller group. Humungous menu with tons of styles of cocktails for all palates, really inventive, and it does seem to change often. I got a tiki drink which was a twist on a zombie and it was AMAZING, tasty and unique plus it was lit on fire ha! My husband got another fun cocktail. They were maybe a little pricey but for fancy cocktails with many ingredients, plus the showmanship, this seemed par for this type of place. Staff is very friendly, loved our server and shout out to bartender Justin - I hope he comes to visit Idle Hour up in Baltimore! Note that they don't serve food at all and some of their drinks are BOOZY so be mindful! Overall just a really great bar with unique drinks in a swanky environment. Top notch experience.

These folks understand the meaning of craft cocktails, complete with making as many of their own ingredients/mix-ins as possible. The chartreuse colored chairs and gorgeous stained glass lights told me instantly that we came to the right place. They have an extensive cocktail list, but that didn't stop me from ordering something not on the menu. They had no questions or problems making it. My spouse also ordered something not on the menu that was recommended to her by someone that had it once here before when it was one of their seasonal specials. Once again, not a challenge for these master bartenders. Everyone was upbeat and clearly enjoying what they do. Looking forward to getting back the next time I'm in Bonita.
