We are vacationing with a group of 10 on North Captiva Island, and decided to spend the afternoon poolside. I'm so glad we did. This turned out to be one of our favorite stops on the island so far! We were lucky enough to have Rene as our server--friendly, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. She offered thoughtful recommendations and never missed a beat, even with a larger group. Let's talk food & drinks: Key Lime Frozen Drink - My brother ordered this and it was the standout of the day. Creamy, tart, and tropical. Like Key Lime Pie in a glass! Chicken Tenders & Fries - My daughter gave these a big thumbs up. The fries were golden, crispy, and super fresh--not greasy at all. Chicken BLT - I ordered this and skipped the brioche bun (though it looked amazing!). Even bun-less, it was flavorful and satisfying. Blackened Grouper Tacos - My dad went with these and they looked fantastic--fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. He also had a Rum Runner, which was strong, smooth, and perfectly blended. (Not for the faint of heart!) The poolside ambiance was exactly what you want on a sunny island day--lively music, a splashing fountain, and a relaxed crowd. We didn't feel rushed, and it was easy to just settle in and enjoy the afternoon. Whether you are staying on the island or visiting for the day, definitely make time to stop here. Visited midday on a Saturday. Had the pirates painkiller, silver king, margarita, and a couple of beers. Also ordered the smoked fish dip which came with nachos. The drinks weren't that great. Had the margarita fixed up and then switch to beer. The smoked fish dip took a long time to come out and looked great, but it wasn't worth it. I don't know how the rest of the food is, but based on our experience, I would stick to beer. The service was good at the beginning, but once they got busy, it went downhill pretty fast. We waited an hour for hour for our food. The one waitress was a sweetheart. The other waiter looked like he didn't want to be there or anyone else. The kitchen was out of most of the menu. We have been coming here for years. The food was okay but not great. This year we were disappointed. Even the shop was out of ice cream and the girl didn't even have her hair tied back while she was scooping ice cream. It was a little gross. They used to be great. Showed up with two of my friends and smiling faces ready for a fun time! Read reviews on this place and saw most of them were not good but we decided to try it out anyway. Listen to me and do not give this place business. Got here and was greeted with rudeness and was probably the worst bar experience i've ever had (keep in mind we just graduated college). No bar tender has EVER spoken to me the way she did. Ruined my entire day and will NEVER be back. Could not find one good thing to say about this place. Bartender was a complete jerk! read more

Mango's is a spectacular out of the way Island restaurant. The food is fantastic, especially the ahi tuna tacos and the Cuban sandwich and the servers make you feel right at home in this "Bermuda South" atmosphere. Docking is a cinch, just make sure to park in a non-reserved spot and go see Gi-Gi, Nicole, Heather, Kendra or a boy named Sue for some real island treats!! I'm a captain at Pineland Marina and have taken many folks out to this terrific spot and now they go out there without me to entertain their friends and get on "Island Time".
