I really enjoyed my Bimini style hogfish though it seemed a bit over priced. My husband loved his po'boy . My daughter went for the calamari and enjoyed it plus we had some to take home. I got a pina colada with a floater. It was tasty , though I could hardly taste any booze in it? My husband enjoyed his margarita . Fun vibes, def want to be outside by water next time. Will validate the reviews that say this place is loud, but to be expected when you are busy! Tonight was... interesting. I'll start by saying I'm not a big fan of the Phelan restaurant group. I've had a couple decent meals at Deep Lagoon, but that's about where it ends for me. We had guests in town this week, and since they're staying close to Bimini Basin Seafood and Cocktails, we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it delivered exactly what I expected--and not in a good way. I ordered shrimp cocktail, and it was way overcooked. Paired that with an Old Fashioned that honestly tasted more like a kiddie cocktail--no exaggeration. My wife ordered the black grouper fish and chips, and it was bad enough that we had to bring it to the manager's attention. If you've seen my past posts, you know I try to find the positives. I understand how tough the restaurant business is. But when a group owns this many restaurants, the expectation should be consistency and quality--and this just wasn't there. The food and drinks were both well below what they should be. Service-wise, our server did fine, but the bar was clearly the bottleneck. Five bartenders behind the bar, and it still took an unusually long time just to get drinks out. To top it off, the ladies mentioned the restroom was dirty and pretty beaten up--definitely not what you expect from a newer place. Now, to be fair--the manager did step up. He removed my wife's meal from the bill and brought out a warm dessert for her birthday off the bill, which was appreciated. But at the end of the day, we went out to enjoy ourselves and have a great meal... and once again, it just feels like the Phelan family restaurants can't quite deliver that experience. read more

Peaceful quiet. Little to no boat traffic or distractions. Has potential. One star is for the clean new waterfront setting. Someone's confused. Decoration wants to be kickback Florida fun, but very few people were smiling. Food quality wants to be in a food truck. Menu pricing wants to be in a five star resort. Drinks were premixers+alcohol. There are many talented people out there that never get their chance to open their own restaurant. Please try harder. Party of six. Ordered three appetizers and six entrees - all seafood. Did not order dessert. Food portions were average. Every item is covered in sauce not explicitly described in the menu unless you order à la carte off of the grille (best entree of the six) Not all entrees came out at the same time. Not good last night. Husband and I went for a cocktail at the bar. Bartender greeted us with a hello and then completely ignored us after that. They were not busy, he just never took our order. We went for the food happy hour which is 2-5pm, had the guacamole & chips, very good, 12 Blue Point oysters, great & grouper fingers (you get 3) they were good. I had their version of a skinny margarita which is much smaller than the other two times I had it, different glass & much smaller size but same price. They weren't super busy but we getting busy by the time we left. Their drink happy hour goes until 630. Any seat in the house just about has views of the water. So myself and my husband and our friend went here tonight. Beautiful bright and fun over all feeling when we arrived. The food was delicious especially the chips and guacamole dip.. very very tasty..I ordered the fish and chips ( Fried Grouper) and the super crunchy French fries exceeded my expectations. 2 couples went to lunch yesterday at this restaurant. Have been 2x before we had a great experience and an awesome waitstaff yesterday not only was the waitress, not good, but my food was almost inedible And the second pet peeve that I have is getting charged for refills on cranberry juice. I ordered a give me a beet salad. I love beets and they weren't bad, but it came with heirloom tomatoes, and nothing else. It was in a plate whatever the minimal sauce that came with, it was of course feet red so it was not very appealing looking the heirloom tomatoes had absolutely no flavor. I only ate the beets and a taste of the tomatoes ! I will never order this again. They should take it off the menu. It had a very off flavor. I did not say anything because I was with another couple, but I'm telling you they need to take that off the menu. read more

I went with my family and a couple of friends. 2/9 people enjoyed their food. No seasoning very bland. I had the lobster roll had the consistency of potato salad and had no taste. Others complained that their fish was dry. I would not recommend this place! Very disappointed. read more

Owned by the same restaurant group as the Deep Lagoon in Fort Myers, the noise level is so great that we had to ask for a different area of the restaurant in order to hear each other. Deep Lagoon is the same situation. We were told reservations were not accepted, but when we got there, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. No biggie. Everyone enjoyed their meals. There was something crunchy in the clam chowder, I think it might have been Bacos instead of real bacon bits. The chowder was very good though. A tiny scoop of pineapple coleslaw was not worth $8. Jonathan was a great waiter although I did have to get my own refill of water and go up and ask for ketchup for my fries. Food was spot on great again! Wish they would get a few more items for us "Land Lovers" on the menu, but all in time! Bre C. was our server, awesome service with a beautiful smile! Our reservation was in place through "Open Table" when we arrived to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary! Was offered a free desert to share for our anniversary which was very nice of them! We chose the Key Lime Pie which is homemade daily! Absolutely phenomenal! BRAVO! I've been here twice. The first time was significantly better than the second. But the second was so bad that I am leaving this review. Our service was horrible. Our server was never around, when we asked about substitutions if she didn't see a button for it, her answer was no. And these were simple substitutions. Our appetizers came out before our drinks and then it was another hour before our entrees were delivered. Some entrées were delivered way before others. Our server seemed to not have a clue what she was doing. Delivered checks with no pens gave the wrong orders to the wrong people, brought virgin and alcoholic drinks unsure of which was which, and even the food was subpar. The rice on the tuna bowl was undercooked, the burger was just ok. The venue is great, but I'm hesitant to return. read more

Been here quite a few times, and it's been mostly pretty good. This week - the service was so bad (come on guys - return to the table within ten minutes of a food runner dropping food), check on empty drinks etc. If this is what we can expect "out of season" you'll be out of business. That aside, had the worst order of stone crab claws in 20 years (and I've had plenty) - you could smell them when they arrived to the table and they looked dried out and smelled. It was $60 for three claws so that was insult to injury. Earlier this season there was a manager coming around and it was great. It was daytime so maybe they manage daytime better than dinner. The menu was somewhat limited. We tried to order a plain chicken breast and it wasn't available unless we ordered chicken tacos or a salad and add a protein. There are no substitutes on the Chef selections. Our coconut shrimp was overcooked and heavily breaded. The crab cake and shrimp cocktail were very good. I've been in a few times now. The bikini style hogfish, old bay shrimp, and crabcake have stood out as excellent, but nothing I've ordered wasn't really good. I've been very impressed. Island veggies were ok, won't order again. Triple tail Fingers were ok, won't order again. The craft beer was limited and it would be nice if they used the local brewery here in Cape Coral Scotty's beer works as an option or at least two IPA beers to choose from as an option. Mary was a super fun and witty server. Love her and her sense of humor! Our group tried a number of different cocktails, all were good. The fried hogfish was a table favorite. The stone crab looked beautiful, but wasn't to my personal taste (very sweet and the texture was kind of mushy). The food for some was served lukewarm .Fries not hot but tasty. Waited almost an hour for food. Only one waitress for our party of 14. She was good tried her best. This was my second time here. Last week I was there for dinner and it was the same, waited over an hour for our food. Food was not hot just slightly warm. The waitress was apologized for the long delay in food she gave us desserts on the house. Hopefully this restaurant works out the kinks. The location is great!! We will see next season!! read more

Drove to restaurant in our boat..amazing dock and "dock hand" Arrived at 215 and restaurant was about 2/3 full... Hostess was very abrasive from the start.. There were 3 tables open on the "railing" overlooking our boat. I asked why we couldn't be seated there..She insisted they were reserved .. Asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the GM..(Marissa) also didn't want to give me a company number as "she" would be getting the call anyway..then proceeded to give us a choice of right by the kitchen or right by the exit out.. (remember only 2/3 full) so this didn't sit well w me..I told her I better see the three tables seated w in 20 min.. 15 min later a couple sat down and I asked them about their reservation.. "no reservation, we just walked in!" Luckily one of the waitresses moved us to a railing table after she asking the "GM" why we couldn't sit there (heard us talking to Marissa).: note to owner.. you need to replace this "GM" with someone who understands customer service.. Very badly placed person! Especially when the employees confirm.. " She's not very polite to the customers " Wow ! Don't alienate your customers bc you have a GM with an ego problem! read more

First time dining. Ambiance is excellent, coastal theme on the Bimini Basin. Docks for boats available. Service was okay but have to remember to was open less than a week. For a weekday night it was crowded, of course in season. For diner our party had the Seafood Gumbo, and Homemade Coconut Shrimp w/ the Passionfruit Sauce. All were very good. Will be back. read more

We sat at the bar. We got to the restaurant about 8:30 and by 9:00 they were trying to shut down the bar. I sat at the bar waiting for a bartender to ask if I wanted another drink for 10 minutes. I actually never was asked. I asked for a water eventually. The peel and eat shrimp are not Florida pink shrimp (much smaller) the old bay was VERY salty on our shrimp. We were finally asked how our food was by a male bartender and then a manager was sent over once we gave our honest opinions about the food (ways to improve not to complain). The female bartender did not want to hear about it when I told her how our food was (she actually walked away as I was mid sentence). They have a few kinks to work out and we were told that by friends. But we wanted to try it for ourselves because it's so close to our house. The ambiance is really nice. I was very excited for this place but it was the biggest disappointment. The drinks were good and the apps were okay. The service of not the best. They left the menus at the tap after ordering and had to ask them to take dirty dishes away. When we got are actually food it came out smelling fishy, bland, and uneven portions for the same meal. Based on others opinions, my family and I decided to give it a try.. the atmosphere and service was great. It's water front with an inside/outside dining experience. I was super excited to get crab legs (as should everyone when they're on vacation)! Unfortunately we payed over 90$ for some of the worst seafood we've ever had. It seemed overcooked because the shells were so hard and dry you couldn't even crack them open. We also got a Caesar side salad which was very dry and little to no dressing on it. Was excited to try this but not sure if they pushed to open early or what but heres what we had issues with. - everything took forever, drinks as well. - the menu is overpriced. The blackened mahi comes with sweet potatoes (thinking a nice mash). Nope it's literally four slices of potato the fish sits on. - my husbands fish was cold. Cooked, but not even room temp. - the manager was going to have it remade but instead of rushing it, it was a new ticket and by the time the rest of the table was done eating- there were still 4 tickets ahead. Well I'm down in Cape Coral for a couple of months and they just opened a new place called Bimini Basin. I had a couple of beers and the blacken grouper sandwich with fries. The service was great. Kerie was at the bar and was fantastic and really on her game. The beer was cold and food was hot!!!! I complained to Sarah about the expeditious service and was helping out at the bar. Prices are good and atmosphere on the water is great. This is a must go to place in Cape Coral!!! read more
