Service was mediocre. Appetizer and Gumbo dishes not removed when entrees served. Gumbo was not hot, barely warm. Coconut Shrimp was way over fried. Pina Colada had little if any rum. Crab Cakes had no lump crabmeat and were cold. Server did not charge for shrimp at least. Music was quite loud making conversation almost impossible. read more

Again, I want to say the food was wonderful in this last visit to Bimini basin and Ariana is incredible. She made our stay that much more comfortable and accommodated us. There were only 3 bartenders holding the bar and all restaurant diners for sunday lunch service. NOT ENOUGH. Once seated the server apologized for the wait. Other groups were seated after us, served and billed before us. Inconsistent seating and service. The rice with my hogfish was a heap stuck together, and mushy. Food was only OK. For example, a crab cake appetizer was ordered. It is one crab cake, only one, for $20. It was tasty, however it was only barely medium sized. Hot crab queso was good. Complimentary valet parking is a nice feature. The high top and dining chairs are too narrow and extremely uncomfortable. read more

So happy this restaurant finally has open. The staff and the managers were so helpful and eager to please. The ambience was incredible to be able to overlook the Bimini basin area, watch the sunset and drool over the boats that docked. The collection of taxidermy fish added to the ambience. Just bite the bullet and use valet parking. Great happy hour, very pleased with the food choices. Could use a bicycle parking area. read more

Service was okay, but not good per say. It started with getting a wine glass with lipstick on it from prior to my party receiving our drinks. The next issue came up with the wait time. Our waitress said she was watching our ticket, and our food was about to come out. About 20 minutes later the manager comes out and says our ticket was lost and the food wouldn't be ready until later. None of us were pleased with the food either. Two of us got a 6oz steak medium. On both steaks one side was burnt and the other was way undercooked. One of us had blacked mahi. The mahi itself was good except for the fact it was room temperature. Also if you plan on drinking only water make sure you get a glass of ice, as they do not bother to make sure to bring out cold water. read more

We were able to come for DUNCH (our version of dinner, in the middle of the day) and were fortunate to get LISA as our server. Attentive, empathetic, and highly professional, she (and the runner staff) were ultra-efficient, but not "pushy" and very informative. We shared mussels diavolo as an appetizer. They were excellent (although I might suggest bringing an extra bowl for the shells, automatically; we had to ask for that). I had the grilled mahi mahi with 2 sides. It was done perfectly, and was just the right dimensions and tender texture. The grilled zucchini vegetables were wonderful; the extra aoili I asked for came promptly. ( I am an aioli snob; this one was great!). I would recommend increasing the cole slaw side just a trifle; that is my only critique. My husband had the Shrimp Campanelle, and raved about the sauce, the shrimp, and the chorizo. It was a generous portion; so (to save calories) he brought some home! For a restaurant that just opened within the last 2 weeks, we could find NO FAULT in anything, except there were no "specials" (yet) for that time of the day (11 am on a Sunday). View is wonderful. Ambience is fun, colorful, and joyous! We are native, now, to Cape Coral. So we will be back. Thanks for the great service, and scrumptious food. read more

We made an open table reservation,which was good because they were pretty busy at lunchtime. The service was prompt and courteous. The interior is nicely done, and their fresh seafood is displayed in glass cases. The shrimp are HUGE! They brought water for our dog, and the menu has great options. One negative is I ordered 1/2 salad with blackened triple tail added and was informed that protein could only be added to a whole salad. This is not indicated on the menu and was very disappointing. A manager did stop by to check and when I expressed my disappointment, he made an exception and I got the 1/2 salad with triple tail and it was delightful. My husband got a salad and chicken wings. fortunate he got the sauce on the side because, although delicious, it was very spicy. The docks are numerous and not too high (like at Slipaway ) and we plan to return very soon by boat. Also they provide complimentary valet parking. read more

We had a reservation for outdoor seating, but after waiting at the bar for 45 minutes and watching open tables sit empty, we were finally seated indoors - roadside. There was immediate indoor seating available when we arrived, but we waited only to be disappointed. Hostess claimed to be a manager and had an excuse for everything, but no solutions. Many outdoor tables available during our wait that sat open the entire time that we sat at the bar. Repeatedly told that all outdoor tables were reserved and not available - no smiles and all excuses. Specifically asked how to avoid this from happening on our next visit and we were told that there is no way to guarantee outdoor seating, which made us all curious how the available outdoor tables were reserved. The entire experience was so ridiculous and frustrating that you can see it for yourself. Good Luck! Peak season is coming to an end and maybe there will be a slowdown to resolve customer service and management issues. Food is average. Service at the bar and table is better than average. Bimini Basin is new and a great addition to the area, so we all hope that improvements will come soon. read more

During our recent visit, we encountered several service and food quality issues, including incorrect orders, bland lobster sandwiches, and fries cooked in oil that left an unpleasant taste. The coconut shrimp batter was excessively hard, lacking flavor, and the absence of accompanying jam made the dish less appealing. The waitress indicated tap water was available, but we declined. Service was hindered as staff appeared occupied with other tables, impacting responsiveness. Despite these challenges, the venue boasts attractive decor and a pleasant outdoor dining area, making it suitable for events. Difficult to converse with the level of everyone talking. We recognize that startup phases often involve growing pains in both food and service, and we appreciate the potential of the location. We plan to revisit in a month to assess improvements, hopeful that these initial issues will be addressed to enhance the overall experience for future events. read more

The managers are chomping at the bit to respond to my review they know is coming, so whatever they say take with a grain of salt. My friend and I had reservations at 3:15 for this new establishment. She was called into work at the hospital so I canceled the reservation and went anyway to try it out. I ordered 2 each of the 3 oysters to decide which I wanted more of. The person delivering them had no idea which was which. She said the only way she could tell was for me to turn each over so she could see the shell. So honestly, it was a crap shoot as she still wasn't sure. As I had this conversation, the woman next to me interrupted to inquire about her oysters, and were they what she ordered. I said, "excuse me, but she's talking to me now. " The waitress told ME to be nice and proceeded to turn her back on ME, talk to them, and finally returned to me. Her companion made a snarky remark about my being alone. Very juvenile behavior that I wasn't about to entertain. A bit later the second woman comes between me and another patron and literally pushes her body into mine. At this point they were both slurring their words. I canceled my food order that was placed 40 minutes ago and still hadn't arrived and asked for a manger. The bartender admitted that they drink too much and caused problems elsewhere in the past. When the manager, who was friends with them, spoke to me about the incident, Phil Monroe told me that if I come back and have any "incidents," I will be banned. Needless to say, I canceled my reservation for tomorrow and will will not return. And this occurred during the day! The picture is the manger speaking to them earlier. read more

Should have know the second we walked in and I saw this place was part of Phelan. At the moment I should have turned around and went somewhere else. 25 minute wait turned into an hour wait, which probably would be been longer if I didn't ask. And when I did ask, I couldn't help but notice the look of "oh sh!t" on their face like they knew they messed up. Within a couple minutes after that, we were at a table. Because the way it was going so far, I took notice of the time when we sat down. It was 10 minutes later, when someone finally came to get us some room temperature water and ask if we would like anything to drink. The overall service after that, took forever. For some mediocre food, it was ok. Wouldn't expect anything to be really that good coming from a restaurant that's owned by Phelan. If you're a snowbird, vacationer, or newly transplant to Florida, this place is for you. As far as the locals, stick to our local places. ( You know the places I'm talking about ). read more

1 star is too much for this establishment. We went to this place at lunch roughy 2 weeks after it opened. I figured the place would be half full and easier to judge. What a mistake. Service was extremealy slow. Waited 20 minutes to get our cocktails. Another 30 minutes to get appetizers and another 30 minutes to get entrees. Our waitress Karen H. screwed up our order and kept blaming everyone else but herself for the mistake. Karen also has no respect for customers personal space. When our entrees arrived, my marinated grilled chicken sandwich arrived with raw bacon, burnt, dry chicken. My sister in law received the wrong order even though it was concerned with Karen. I could go on. But I won't. This place needs to close immediately. Figure out how to correct its major operational problems and staffing. Then reopen when it knows how to be a real restaurant. Not some place looking to take advantage of the snow beasts that come here every season. read more

We were excited to try the new Bimini Basin Seafood & Cocktails. Sadly, we were disappointed. We sat at the very busy bar. It took over 10 minutes before being asked what we wanted to drink. As we sat, we observed the 4 bartenders work the bar. Although one bartender was friendly, others were not. They did a poor job of keeping track of the guests' needs. We understand they are making drinks for a full restaurant; however, we know of other extremely busy restaurants that handle the bar and entire restaurant with just one very "with it" and friendly bartender who constantly sweeps the bar to anticipate when guests are ready for another drink or to order food. Speaking of food, that was also a disappointment at Bimini Basin. The Fish and Chips had very little fish in the breading and overall the fish, fries, and coleslaw were average at best. A "blackened" Black Grouper was flavorless (how can blackened anything not have flavor?!) and dry. The Cilantro and Lime Rice was flavorless as well and very mushy. The restaurant décor is a bit strange with the weird sayings and large wall of poorly hand written signs. The drink service station for the servers should be walled off. On a positive note, it is a beautiful location and the menu does look great. Hopefully with a bit more experience at the bar and in the kitchen, this new restaurant will thrive. read more
