Key Lime Bistro nailed it! The salmon with crab and key lime hollandaise was rich, bright, and downright dreamy. The carrots and parsnips had a cool twist, the broccoli actually tasted like someone cared, and the rice had this subtle sweetness--almost vanilla-ish--that totally worked. My brother loved the Voodoo chicken, "all the flavors exploded in my mouth at once". The rest of the fam loved the zesty scampi. Little extras made the night: sesame crackers with drinks, juicy red grapes, and a bold, addictive pimento cheese situation (basil? garlic? a little kick? yes please). Service was spot-on, the vibe was easy and fun, and the live music sealed it. Rinaldo, the one-man band, brought the groove with the flute and matched the atmosphere perfectly. Our waitress, Jennifer was really attentive too. Great food, great sound, great night. Would absolutely do it again. @ ac17c insta

we come here as a family and they always accommodate us - about 20 people. Ambience is their main selling point. Food is ok. right next to the beach so location is great. Good live music but overall a good experience!

We thought this was going to be a normal review but it went sideways. We only had about an hour and they were not that busy. It was a limited after 1pm when we came in. We ordered a tuna appetizer and after eating about half of it we for a hair under the Wasabi sauce. I went and told the waitress and she apologized and said they would take it off the bill and make is a new one. The new one came and we didn't have any issues. We were waiting for our food after that for awhile. We watched as others who were sat after us were already receiving their food/orders but we hadn't. It was like 4 tables we watched. It's not like we ordered something weird? We waitednow about 45 to 50 minutes and we had enough. So we asked for the check and for our orders to be boxed. That took another 10 to 15. We paid and she apologized but we had to go because of the parking. A quick meal turned into one of the worst in recent history we had. We ate back at the room and my wife said they crab cakes were salty and my chicken club was really dry. My wife really wanted to eat here since the last time we were in captiva, but man were we dissappointed.

My fault for not asking 1st but $35 for this tiny blackened grouper sandwich.... Wow!!

$35 for this tiny blackened grouper sandwich. I guess my fault for not asking how much when it said market price... but c'mon...

We stopped in here for a quick breakfast after a few hours of shell-hunting down at Blind Pass. This was at about 10am on a Wednesday morning, mind you. The place was completely empty. We were the only patrons. Waiter was great- we sat outside and ordered coffee for me and a mixed drink (tasted like a girl-scout thin mint shake with booze!) for my wife. There was some sort of event going on across the street- ground breaking or something similar for a new building. Lots of spiffy people zooming around in Range Rovers and Bentleys. Blah blah blah... I hid my Rolex so no one would think that we were part of the entourage. Wife ordered eggs and bacon and I ordered the sirloin tips and eggs. The restaurant got a few more tables as we waited. Everyone seemed laid back and truly on island time. Our food arrived along with a refill of my coffee. Everything was delish. We cleaned our plates... breakfast potatoes were especially good. We will return next year, as we make our yearly pilgrimage to Captiva every October.

We were here last night, we both ordered salads, we were the only ones sitting outside listening to a guy singing and playing his guitar. Our beer was cold and our salads were awesome! Our server Jose, was very polite and attentive. Will definitely visit again.

First of all most restaurants have great food so it's about the service. I've got two dogs. The owner is the one that seated me very friendly guy that makes me wanna come back so in a day of hiking along the beach with my dogs I just want a virgin piña colada. They've got my business.

They are back! We were so excited to visit and eat at The Key Lime Bistro last Wednesday! The place looks so good ! We ended up parking down the street by the Surf Shop but it looked like there was parking behind the restaurant, too. There was a one man band playing outside and he was very entertaining. The food was delicious . I had the grouper and my husband had the stuffed grouper with lobster. My key lime martini was made with Blue Chair Bay Rum Cream! (No Shoes Nation members understand this significance). It was so good. The employees were so attentive. I can't wait to visit KLB and Captiva next year!

Unfortunately it is currently closed for renovations. FYI. Went for lunch but found it shuttered with workmen inside.

The food was still amazing and the place looks the same with minor changes since the storm. The disappointment here is the front end. They hired a very childish boy as a hostess. Flamey and rude. Very dramatic and rather than trying to help people ( such as locating a restroom) he spews a very long story about where it is instead of pointing to it two feet away. He was talking and laughing about a customer when I came out. I presume me I only needed to wash my hands. He's lucky I didn't tell him off but I didn't want to let him ruin our evening and have my husband hear. He's ( Anthony) a little punk though.

All of the standard breakfast offerings were on the menu, plus a special of theirs is a breakfast sandwich that's an omelette wedged between two pieces of french toast. Kind of fun. This turned out to be one of our favorite stops on the island so far! We were lucky enough to have Rene as our server--friendly, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. She offered thoughtful recommendations and never missed a beat, even with a larger group. Let's talk food & drinks: Key Lime Frozen Drink - My brother ordered this and it was the standout of the day. Creamy, tart, and tropical. Like Key Lime Pie in a glass! Chicken Tenders & Fries - My daughter gave these a big thumbs up. The fries were golden, crispy, and super fresh--not greasy at all. Chicken BLT - I ordered this and skipped the brioche bun (though it looked amazing!). Even bun-less, it was flavorful and satisfying. Blackened Grouper Tacos - My dad went with these and they looked fantastic--fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. He also had a Rum Runner, which was strong, smooth, and perfectly blended. (Not for the faint of heart!) The poolside ambiance was exactly what you want on a sunny island day--lively music, a splashing fountain, and a relaxed crowd. We didn't feel rushed, and it was easy to just settle in and enjoy the afternoon. Whether you are staying on the island or visiting for the day, definitely make time to stop here. Friendly service, great food, and that laid-back island energy. We will be back before the trip is over!
