    Nice ambiance.

The host/waitress is so friendly and accommodating. We ordered an order of Special Thai Fried Rice with medium spice and Pad Ke Mao, medium spice. Both selections were fantastic. Two glasses of Thai ice tea completed our meal. The restaurant is cute and clean. It was slightly off our path, but definitely worth the extra walk. I highly recommend The Great Thai.

Am I the first to review an awesome restaurant again!? I can't believe this. This is one of our favourite drop in places to grab Asian food. It's a really small corner located in Fitzrovia, not the most obvious spot but I promise you it's worth checking this place out. It's tiny but humble restaurant has a cosy and has this warm welcoming environment. It does live up its restaurant's name "The Great Thai", they serve pretty authentic Thai food here. Portions are generous, tastes delicious, decent price for the location, good and fast service. I love this place. You would pay an average around £10-£15 per pax (including drinks) depending on what you order. So usually, we (2pax) would order a 3 course meal and drinks which would include something of the below: 1. Tom Yum Soup (slightly spicy) - with prawns and mushrooms £6.95 - with chicken and mushrooms £5.95 - there's a vegetarian option 2. Pad Thai - with chicken £8-ish - vegetarian option available 3. Seabass fish - Garlic Seabass £12.95 deep fried (recommended) - Ginger & Soy £12.95 steamed 4. Thai iced tea £2.95 5. Side white rice £1.90? That would give you an average what you'll order. The portions for the pad Thai is pretty big. The meat here is fresh, especially the fish. Highly recommended for couples and threesome, if you have anything larger than that you might want to call them for reservations. They serve wines and alcoholic beverages too :) I wouldn't say it's the most kid friendly area, but it's a safe environment for toddlers

I'm always going for boat noodles or spicy noodle soup (the light broth one).

I could have sworn I left a review of this place when we were here a year a go... but it is not here. We are going to be back in London in Feb and there are about 5 must do things when we get back... and this is one of them. A year ago we were wandering around this part of London... sort of lost. We know we wanted to have soup so we were stopping at every restaurant and reading the menus. It was a cold misty day so the day screamed SOUP. We were starting to think Londoners don't eat soup! We were about to give up because we had gone past most of the restaurants area when this place appeared. It was small and unassuming. There was a young happy (Portuguese ?) guy serving soup from about 8 or so big kettles of soup with fresh... and really good, bread. We had wandered in tired and wet and that soup was amazing. We had two different kinds (I forget which) and both were just great. It made the evening into something magical, and not dreary, cold, and wet. So we will always return to this place when we have the opportunity to come back to London.

We enjoyed our dishes very much!, the soups we tried were out of this world, we are from the US and…read moreback home you will find such quality only in 5 star and expensive places. This place is down to earth and the taste from another planet :)

I'm not sure on that, it's just something I thought we caught on to before we left and there started to be RESERVED tents going on the tables. We went and had Scotch Egg, Calamari, Arancini, fish & chips and STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. Oh. My. Goodness! First the Scotch Egg. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but it was....ok. It was a little plain. A little tasteless. They could have thrown a few spices into the meat, just a little something. To say that we've made better at home wouldn't be far out. But still good. The calamari was cooked just right. It's what you expect out of a calamari appetizer. Was it the best you'll ever have? Not really. Worth the price? Add it to your appetizer list! The rice balls, which is arancini is, were good. Add a little salt to the top and they were, also, as you'd expect. The fish & chips were exactly as we were hoping when visiting an English Pub for fish & chips. The fish was perfectly cooked, the coating was fabulous, and of course the chips were a perfect compliment to the fish. A great fish & chips experience. The star of the show was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. What a treat! Granted I've nothing to compare it to, this was my first time having it, but whether I've had it before or not THIS was perfection. Perfect texture, the flavour was amazing, the caramel drizzle was perfectly proportioned, and the little bit of ice cream on the side was just perfect. I would go back here simply on this dessert alone. As for the drinks, because, you know, it's a pub....I couldn't say. I don't drink alcohol but my Diet Coke was great! Fresh bottle! ....I suppose I could have gotten a non-alcoholic beer. Wait....did they have non-alcoholic beer there? SOMEONE FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER THERE. The atmosphere was great. I can see how it would be perfect in the evening and on into the night. Very welcoming with a great looking bar.

Food is always superb. Its best to make reservations because it is a busy place every time we have…read morebeen.
