The Grange is by far my favorite restaurant in the valley by far! Since I moved to the area a year ago I have been religiously going there for the warm, friendly service to the fantastic farm breakfast with a blueberry pancake on the side that melts in my mouth. Though this time I tried the Challah French Toast! So good!! I can't forget yummy Sunday night fried chicken to wood fire pizza. Locally sourced and grown food. The food was pretty good, but for a $300 meal, the service was bad to the point of absurd. At the start of the meal we asked our server for wine recommendations, which he replied he cant help us as he's 18. A little cringeworthy, but in an amusing way -- we managed to pick a great bottle anyhow. However, about 45 after we had been seated and 10 seconds after finishing the meal, he dropped the check on our table. We politely suggested we'd like to see the desert menu. The waiter was polite about it but promptly started putting up the chairs on neighboring tables, and then turned up the lights. We had been at the table for less than an hour at this point. I might have quietly spoken to the manager, but she was there and clearly comfortable with it. Service is part of the experience, and bad service can negate great food. For my $0.02, if you're going to run you restaurant like its an Applebees, don't charge $40 per plate, and if you don't want people at your restaurant at 8:15p, don't seat them at 7:30p. read more

A brilliant find on a Saturday morning drive through Snoqualmie Valley. There was great coffee and food (pancakes are delish) and the service was really good. For families with littles, there is a kids menu and a small play nook for them inside. read more

Boo to The Grange. After many years of bypassing the Grange due to a bad first experience, we decided to try it again tonight. A nice day with a light breeze we asked about sitting outside and were told there were no available tables, but we could sit close to the door. As we walked over, I saw a 4 top table outside. I said, is that 4 top table reserved? The Hostess said no, my boss will get mad if I put two people there. What's up with that? We sat down for a moment at our indoors tiny two top. I thought about it for minute, then told my wife we're out of here. We are not giving them our business due to such an unfriendly policy. So we left, and you know what? They are not seeing us again. I know there is a pandemic and mandates but still you need to keep up quality especially when you charge an automatic gratuity 20 % that you call a takeout charge. They made the wrong salad, but hey that can happen but the pizza was cold because it sat in the box for awhile till they got around to making the wrong salad. Then they told me they were overwhelmed with take out orders but the sit down people needed to be served first. Not good. And that $44 medium pizza and wrong salad was not worth it. This was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. :( I hate to give a bad review but it was almost unbelievable how bad it was. They told us it would be 10 minutes but then it was 30 and then they said we could only eat outside where it was cold. Fine. But then they didn't come to take our order for 30 minutes and then only when we asked. Then 30 minutes later we asked about our food and they found out they lost our ticket. So an hour and a half after we got there still no food. No real excuse for that. Hope it was an anomaly but we won't be going again. read more

What surprises me when visiting Duvall is the quality of the dining establishments​. The Grange is amongst the top restaurants in the area and one of the finest restaurants you can find in the entire Puget Sound Region. Why is this? Quality and distinctiveness. The quality of ingredients, the care of preparation, the friendly smiles, and the country-cool atmosphere make this a winning dining experience whatever time of day you arrive. The pizzas, made in their brick oven, are​ exquisite with unique topping combinations I find quite delicious. Every dish I've consumed here has been noteworthy. To me, this is a top-class, casual-eating dining experience with unique recipes and flavors that you will not find anywhere in the Seattle area. There are higher-end restaurants that cannot match The Grange for quality and uniqueness. I love this place and will go return often. read more

What the hell did I just eat? Nice enough restaurant inside with nice enough staff, but good god is the food bad. We ordered the merguez sausage pasta and scampi. Call FEMA. It was a disaster. The merguez pappardelle was swimming in a sticky PF Chang's style sweet n' sour sauce over a pile of peppers and onions. A hot sugary mess. The scampi was Olive Garden level. Flat breads fell flat. I can't overemphasize how excited I am about this addition to the valley's restaurant scene. The new iteration of The Grange retains the comfortable country feel and ties to local farms of the old version, but with a new sense of sophistication and refinement. The interior is lovely, and the food is absolutely fantastic. My partner and I shared the summer squash and burrata, which I would recommend to anyone--particularly the burrata! I had the mussels, which were velvety smooth and in a broth that was flavored just enough with herbs and bacon. We also shared the donut holes--it's hard to go wrong with still-hot fried dough rolled in cinnamon and sugar! I'd recommend The Grange to anyone looking for a spot for a nice, but not overly fussy, meal out. Small towns can be rough for restaurants, I sincerely hope that this one gets the support it needs to stick around--I know I'll be doing my part to keep their seats filled! read more

The cuisine is amazing. I enjoyed the meal just as much as the Herb Farm. This has become one of Seattle's best restaurants with very affordable pricing. Also, the new owners are organic farmers, and they use the best ingredients from the the best farmers in the area. Update-- just visited again, and the food was amazing. Atmosphere quite friendly, I mention this first because it was the welcome and introduction that were both friendly and professional. Decor is new, bright and clean. We ordered 3 small plates and 2 large plates. It fed us three enough with room for the two desserts. With a single glass of wine and one cider, the total of $119 seems high but compared to driving into nasty Seattle, not crazy. Charred broccoli up first. Wow, sweet and tasty with pickled radish to compliment. Excellent. Next up the burrata plate. Very delicious with a great variety of roasted tomatoes. The pesto was tasty but slightly too salty. Could have used more bread! The pork belly was quite flavorful, and cherry mustard excellent. Served with pickled kohlrabi as I recall ( I need better notes). Large plates started with tasty mussels. I was doubtful, but generous portion. And flavor? Nailed it. Seems like we were the only table to order the mussels. I'm recommending here! Bacon and broth, very tasty. Lastly was the brick chicken. A little disappointed. Tiny chicken pieces in a huge sea of salty stewed tomatoes with very little other flavor. We each got a bite of chicken for $19. The chicken tasted ok, was crispy but not much flavor. Lemon curd with berries was excellent. Donut holes, really good with pistachios crumbled on top. All in all a solid 4. I could not give them a 3 or 5. I will love to watch their menu expand. read more

Bay Area transplant and total food snob and OMG I died at how good the food was!!!!! Farm to table at it's most elemental level. We had the gem lettuce salad. It was topped with lots of amazingly tastey crunchy thing - roasted garlic, toasted seeds, cracked barley (I think) with goddess dressing. I will dream of this salad for days and months to come!!!! We also had the gnocci. I died. Perfect light pillows with a sear served with PERFECTLY cooked a dente squash, flavorful tomatoes and fresh herbs. the pickled green beans added perfectly balanced acid. The dish danced across my pallet - who knew gnocci could dance?????? If they can maintain the food quality and do a little better on service, Grange will be a destination restaurant - no doubt. read more

The grange is a charming restaurant that has a vacation vibe. With upbeat music playing through the place and festive lights it reminds me of a place I might have encountered on the beach. My girlfriend and I had brunch here today and, while mixed, enjoyed the experience. I got the baked eggs and she got the hash. Her dish came out about 15 mins ahead of my meal so I got to try her food quite a bit. The brisket was well seasoned and the sauce they put on there was spicy and delightful. My dish was a contrast in seasoning as the tomato says seemed pretty basic and the eggs and feta were lost in the strength of the tomato sauce. We will try it again but I won't be having the baked eggs. read more

Two stars for the decor and feel. Went for brunch this last Sunday and it was just a horrible experience. The server was extremely short and unwelcoming, service was painstakingly slow, and food was meh. Top it off with prices that are insane: $17 for three pancakes? No sides, just three pancakes. Egg ordered over easy came over hard. For the prices one would think we would at least have refills on water and not have to get our own napkins but the server never stopped by. Food came out piecemeal too, with long waits between dishes. Start to finish time was about 90 minutes. Would not recommend. If I do recommend to you, just know it means I don't like you. read more

Was a weekly spot and enjoyed the brunch menu several Sundays. Talked my husband into dinner on Friday, wrong move, chicken was good but sauce ruined it, extremely hot and they knew it and served it anyway after I brought it to their attention. Service was terrible! Ignored at the bar, dinner came at the 45 minute mark. Was overcharged $75.00 for someone else's drinks! Seriously need to have a standard on how they interact with customers, contacted owner, was sent gift certificate for chicken only, never arrived, went back in to give it another chance. Gift certificate was reissued for $10 less than original...... I enjoy there farm selections out front and ended up spending $190 at store area before I left. All in all they won, I lost. too bad, I was a consistent and loyal customer. read more

Overall the food was amazing. The chicken dish was second to none and so was the gnocchi. I didn't give it five starts because 1) the menu has several large entrees "to share" but the portion is barely enough for one person let alone more than one. This is made worse by the fact that the food is much pricier than its competitors in the area (but I'll be honest, the food is better too). 2) Seems like something small, but they removed the changing station in the bathroom. This place is known as being kid friendly (they have a great play area for kids in the back), and it was a little disappointing to see it gone when we needed it. A solid 4 stars, phenomenal food but not the best value. read more

A friend recommended the grange to me for Sunday brunch. I sat down out on the back deck and looked around for a menu - the hostess forgot to give me one. On the table was one of those QR code squares and my phone is an old model that does not have that feature. I asked my waitress for an actual menu explaining my phone does not do QR. She said she was saving the trees and did not have a menu to give me and walked away. I was dumbfounded by this behavior and asked around if a neighbor could show me a menu. I ordered the farmer breakfast ate it, paid my bill and left. Later at home I was looking at the menu on line and at my bill and noticed my waitress had charged me more for my farmer breakfast than the price that was showing online. I guess she figured some sap like me who had no menu to look at would not notice the price difference and could get away with it to get a bigger tip.  First and Last time for me going here. read more

I took my girlfriend from Oregon here and she ordered a burger. I've never seen such a RAW hamburger this bad before! It was charred on the outside but looked like fresh ground hamburger from the grocery store in the middle. Seriously!? Pretty much everyone knows how to cook a burger, but not here. The waitress took it away so fast that I didn't have a chance to take a pic. Bummer! This is the 3rd time I've had a bad meal here or a friend/family member. Every time I try this place I am disappointed- either an item on the menu is no longer available, or the wait list is not followed and people who arrive after me get seated with mimosas. I want to love this place as they serve fresh and local and the staff is pretty nice. But I can't justify spending so much money for so little happiness. read more

Update from last review, I've been back 3 times now for brunch and dinner, and can say that I really do like their food! It's local, fresh, and the brunch menu is fantastic! I mean with Shakshuka, Benedicts, and Dutch Babies--I'm usually sold! I was sadly disappointed with the service though. All three times I went, it took 15-20 minutes after being seated to have a waiter come by for the first time, provide waters, and to take our drink orders. Up til then you are just sitting at table with nothing for 20 minutes. And after the fact, we only see our waiters once more to order food and that's it. You have to practically physically walk over to a waiter each time you need refills on drinks or to order dessert. I've had three separate waiters here and it's been my experience regardless of if they are busy or not (there were only four tables one of the times I went). They also forgot our order twice (we didn't modify anything, they just forgot it). We're not particularly needy patrons, we would just like to order our drinks/food in reasonable amount of time, and have a person come by maybe once or twice to check if you need refills. I really would like to be a frequent visitor here, but I'd love to see the Grange put more emphasis on staff training and checking on tables earlier/more frequently once they are seated. I'll check them out again, in case the poor service is due to lots of new staff hired after reopening. read more

Mediocre food, AWFUL service! We arrived on a beautiful sunny morning asking to sit outside. We were told it was a 5 - 10 minute wait, which was no problem. After us, another party the same size arrived and were told the same thing. About 15 - 20 minutes later, we see the party that arrived AFTER us was brought to the outside table, and we were escorted to an inside table. I questioned them on it, and was told by the hostess first, "it's not my fault, I didn't seat them", then "it was a miscommunication", and finally "the outside table wouldn't fit your party anyway". First, don't blame someone else, it's VERY a small restaurant, no excuses for basic seating blunders, especially when there were only 2 parties waiting. Second, our party was the same size as the party seated outside, and inside, the 4 of us were brought to a table for 2! When I pointed this out, just snarkily pointed to another table. What's worse, ALL these tables were available when we arrived, they were just waiting for another wait staff to arrive you was apparently late for work... even though, for a restaurant this size at 50% COVID capacity, the volume could have easily been managed by the wait staff already there. Next, I asked the waitress to describe a new menu item called "green eggs & ham". She proceeded to tell me it was a vegetarian dish, even though it contained prosciutto. HAHA! I later discovered by overhearing the other waitress that they, in fact, didn't have the ham/eggs and were replacing it with the veggie dish our waitress described - she just failed to mention it was an entirely different dish to sub for the ham/eggs. I ultimately ordered a basic breakfast of eggs & bacon which was was fine - not great but not bad. Hard to mess up eggs/bacon/toast though. Kids' food was about the same - mediocre. My husband's chicken & waffles though, was horribly dry and over breaded though. Finally, the service was painfully SLOW! It took almost 45 minutes to get our food, the table was overcrowded with unnecessary dishes that the waitress refused to clear, and we waited ages for her to provide the check and collect payment. In the end, we were stuck inside this place for nearly 2 hours when all we wanted was a nice Saturday brunch on the patio! It's a shame, there aren't many places like this in the area. But sadly, The Grange is not cutting it. We'd rather travel a bit farther to get good service and food in one of the many nearby the surrounding towns. read more

Love, love, LOVED this place. Space is clean, well designed and open. The food was spectacular and you can tell a lot of care and consideration goes into cultivating the menu items. The owner was behind the bar and made the effort to come ask how our food was, which is a huge plus in my book. He explained that his background was in farming and that he had purchased the restaurant from his sister. He sources ingredients from local farmers, and food tasted fantastic. So first off ready to eat foods (breads and such that are not cooked) need to be handled with a utensil or gloved hands just throwing that out there. Just had a disappointing experience at brunch. Sadly, because we really like this restaurant. We have only been here twice and it was a tale of two different places. The first experience was a 5 star visit for sure. However this time was barely a 2 star. Several of the dishes were not prepared well. Raw egg on the inside of one dish, room temp food on another dish and a 2 hour wait after our order to receive the food. Most of the the staff is very friendly but our server today must have been having a bad day and decided to share her experience. I hope they can get back to the 5 star experience that we had the first time. To their defense they comped one meal but if I were the manager I would have comped the table. We will definitely be back but I hope this visit was the outlier and not the norm. Hopefully this finds management and they fix whatever happened today. read more
