The skinnys used to be $70 and now they are $500, which is $200 more than my professionally fit pair from my podiatrist who is out at River Place on 2222, which in itself you can understand it would be expensive because of the location, but I went there on a referral a cpl years ago The rubber insole that used to be $29 at the Good Feet store is now $70. I just wanted an extra pair so I don't have to keep switching them from shoe to shoe. My appointment with Anna was exceptional. I have numerous problems with back, sciatica and plantar fasciitis. Anna took the time to explain the process of the 3 different insoles I was to use throughout each day. One to strengthen, one to maintain & one to relax. If I was not able to afford that and went the register after everything and spending about 2 hours with fittings and trying things out, I would be pretty pissed off. About 60 days in and am pretty disappointed thus far after seeing nearly no improvement in plantar fasciitis pain. I would absolutely not recommend. I have $30 inserts (Valsole) that were purchased from Amazon that are far more comfortable and at least as effective. As others have mentioned, the pricing/sales methods used here are pretty deceptive. After going through the fitting the sales rep pulled out a sheet that had 4 different inserts ($1500) and was trying to sell me another to go in (?) my sandals that I tend to wear at home. It was only after I asked if it was required to buy all four that they reached into the drawer and pulled out another product sheet that had only three inserts and was about $400 less. We booked an appointment for my son to meet with someone at the Good Feet Store. This was something that was very important to us. The Good Feet Store was very good about confirming the appointment time. In fact, they confirmed the appointment three times and reiterated how important it was for us to be there on time since their assigned salesperson was committing to meet with us for 45 minutes out of their day. We showed up five minutes early. There was only one salesperson working in the store and two other groups currently there. The store is separated into three sections. She put us in a separate section and we sat and waited. We waited for at least 10 minutes before she came over. She stopped by for 1-2 minutes then left and went to another group. Several additional groups came in during the time and she started helping them as well. Every 10-15 minutes or so, she would stop by and help my son for 1-2 minutes. We ended up being there for more than one hour and probably had 5 total minutes with the salesperson who went from group to group. This was anything but good service and I shared this experience with the person who confirmed our scheduled appointment. She said she would share it with their customer service leadership. I have never heard a word back about our experience. As I stated, this was very important to us and we spent $1500 on the items to help my son, but we didn't get any dedicated time or the chance to ask a lot of the questions we had hoped to ask with our scheduled 45 minute appointment that didn't happen. TGFS was a last resort to try to relieve my foot pain. I was treated well, everyone was friendly. It took a while to figure out what I needed, and the price tag was over $1,600 for 4 pair of inserts. They 'gave' me 1/2 off a new pair of shoes, and they 'gave' me four new liners to wear over the inserts at a retail of about $40 each. I was told if the inserts didn't work, there were other ones to try and that if they couldn't help me, my money would be refunded. I made sure of this, because the price tag was hefty. I was also 'given' a $300 pair of inserts with only a 6-month warranty. All the others were lifetime. After 3 return visits, over an hour drive away each time, and many different inserts, they did not work for me. At first, he told me that he would give me $800 dollars of my own money back. I told him that was unacceptable. He then offered me $1100 back. I still disagreed. My final offer was $1300 back. These are rounded numbers. He tried telling me that there was a 20% restocking fee, I had to pay for the pair of shoes I was given 1/2 off, they wanted to charge me for the 'free' inserts, they tried charging me for the 'free' liners, and when I argued he said everything was part of a promotional package. I had to give back the inserts and I tried to return two of the four unused liners, which they would not accept. I had to pay for something they 'gave' me. I am not badmouthing the product; they just didn't work for me. I am not badmouthing the service I received. I do feel like I was intentionally misled and deceived. They did not give me anything. Update 5/18/2023: I am over a month without wearing the orthotics and the numbness and tingling they caused by shifting my bones and pinching a nerve continues. It makes it hard to fall asleep and if I wake it's nearly impossible to fall back asleep. It's a crazy-making sensation, like a burr under your skin, a burning sensation & tingling that no amount of massaging will alleviate. Ten more days until I'm finally in with a podiatrist to see if there's anything that can be done or if there is permanent damage. I feel so stupid for trusting the associate who talked me into this. I went to The Good Feet Store solely with the intention of buying a really good pair of shoes with support so my feet would not get fatigued when I go for long walks. The associate represented herself as a professional, like a podiatrist, and convinced me that at 60 I needed to "invest" $2500 on these "custom" orthotics in order to insure my continued mobility as I age. Before the orthotics I walked every day and my feet would sometimes be tired when I got home. Once I started following the Good Feet plan and worked up to wearing the orthotics for a longer period each day, I found myself walking less and less because of the pain and numbness. It would go away overnight though, so I took it as she's explained as the "adjustment period as my feet, posture, and spine improved alignment." Then over a month ago I woke with my feet still tingling and numb. The "adjustment period" now appears to be permanent damage to nerves in my feet. It was such a mistake to fall for the hard press sales tactics that suggested if I didn't buy the $2500 of orthotics I was putting my future mobility at risk. It was classic snake oil sales techniques and I fell for them, resulting not just in the wasting of that money but more importantly in actually damaging instead of improving my mobility. I cannot go for daily walks anymore because of the pain in my feet snd instability in my ankles as U am very conscious about trying to put my foot down properly. This is really depressing and I don't want any other seniors to fall victim and face this loss of mobility. If you think you need orthotics, go to an ACTUAL foot specialist who will take molds of your feet and make TRULY CUSTOM orthotics. Maybe some people are lucky enough to have them pull out of their back room a premade orthotic that fits properly, but you might be unlucky like me and have your mobility permanently threatened. It's actually LESS expensive to get custom orthotics from a podiatrist than the $2500 The Good Feet Store charged me for off the shelf ones that damaged my feet. I will continue to update once I see the podiatrist and orthopedist my primary care doctor recommended. These medical bills are just more money down the drain because I fell for the hard sales techniques. I hope my experience cautions other seniors not to take the risk. About a year ago I had debilitating achilles tendon pain. A doctor recommended supports from this store. I think these supports have helped and my pain is all but gone. I got the attached email for a free annual checkup. It says FREE. There is no mention of having to pay anything. I went to the store with the email and showed it to them. They took my shoes and inserts and replaced them. Then they asked me for $104 for the replacement cushions. Astounded, I showed them the email again. They said the cushions came in packs of 3. I said I was here for the free cushions mentioned in the email, so they gave me one pair of cushions. Then they told me to go to the register to pay $24 for the replacement inserts. I again showed them the email. They said only the cushions were free. I said I would pay it but explained that they should be forthcoming and ethical in their conduct. Unfortunately they interrupted me during my explanation so I had to explain it again. I went to the register to pay $24. I was told I owed $54. I asked for a conference with the clerk that had previously told me $24 and had interrupted me. They told me it was $24 per pair for 2 pair, with tax. It was clear to me that this store is deceptive with a lack of regard for ethics. I demanded my original inserts and left the store without paying anything. I believe these inserts may be good, cost about $1k, and are a lot less expensive than medical procedures. However, be very cautious when dealing with this store. I have had foot pain due to arch issues as well as arthritis of toes from old injuries. I am on my feet many hours at work and really hurt by the end of the day. It's only been a week, but I am experiencing some decrease of arch pain. I realize the inserts won't cure arthritis but they seem to be helping reduce the strain on the feet from the way i was walking to compensate for the arthritis. Angela at the Woodmere facility was fabulous and although I could purchase orthotics on line, I know that done incorrectly problems can arise. I felt things were explained professionally and although certainly not an inexpensive visit. the system makes sense. My other option was to consult with a podiatrist or orthopod and get custom orthotics but this would have been as costly. Big feet, big problems, Good feet NO problems! Have had my inserts for about 1.5 years. Started feeling discomfort in my right heal while on the field. Went in this morning to the good feet store. Scott checked my feet and my inserts. He made some adjustments and put in the new inserts... I literally was raising my arms singing as the pain subsided immediately. So I had issues with plantar fasciitis , I heard about The Good Feet store , decided to visit the store and see what it was about . So I've tried several options and decided to buy the whole package , not cheap but you can't put a price on comfort . I was so tired of walking in pain ! It took a couple of weeks to get used to walking on the implants but the pain was gone the 1st couple of days . So after 6 months the pain started started . I'll just tell you what happened and let you draw your own conclusions. When I arrived the sales rep had me do a balance test by standing straight up in my stocking feet with my hands clasped palms up behind my back, and he pushed down on my hands while I resisted the push. This made me lose my balance, and I stumbled backward. This, he said, showed that "your alignment is off." Then he had me stand on a couple of inserts and we repeated the process. This time no matter how hard he pushed I didn't lose my balance. The arch supports had fixed my alignment problem! But I know enough physics to suspect there was something fishy about that demonstration. I asked him to do it again, and this time I thought I felt a slight backward angle to the pushing when I wasn't standing on the inserts. It could be my imagination, though -- if that's what I suspected was happening then maybe my mind convinced me that it was. So when I got home I asked my wife to help me repeat the process. She pushed straight down on my hands as hard as she could, but she couldn't reproduce my alignment problem. Then I tried it on her -- when I pushed straight down on her hands she had no alignment problem, but if I pushed ever so slightly backward while I was pushing down, she lost her balance backward just as I had in the store. Before being told about the backward angle to the pushing she didn't notice it, but when we repeated the exercise she said she could just barely feel the backward angle. Then we repeated the test more objectively by clasping my hands behind my back and having my wife hang a 50 lb weight from my hands. Once again I had no alignment problem. The only time my alignment was off was when the salesman was doing the balance test in the store and I wasn't standing on the inserts. Those results could not be reproduced at home without resorting to trickery. I suggest that before you buy expensive inserts, you get a second opinion on whether "your alignment is off." Repeat the balance test with someone you trust and see if you get the same results. read more

Deceptive Practice and High Pressure Sales Tactics!!!!! My parents heard about The Good Feet Store from another family member. So my parents went to check them out. Originally I joked with them saying should I take off work and go with you all. They were like no no we are good. Later that day my mom was like ooooohhh I got some shoes that cost over $1,300. Immediately my eye brows raised up. So the next day I stopped by to visit them and she said look at my shoes. I looked at them (Brooks brand) and they were nice but they looked like a familiar athletic shoe product I'd seen before. So immediately I googled the shoes and the shoes run about $160 and half that price on clearance. I said mom, come look at this. She was like what is it. I said can I see your receipt mom. It had all these codes on it. The shoes were only about $170 and there were several separate line charges of $295 here and there. All these extra line charges were for all those different types of inserts and Velcro straps. So I called the salesman Dave who sold them the products and asked a host of questions. Like... When you told my parents the price you stated in a confusing manner and had them under the impression that the cost was one three eight five one seven. She wrote a check thinking he meant $138.517. He was really saying $1,385.17. He claims he told them all that in the consultation. Yeah I bet he did. He told them the price after they sighted a disclosure statement. I've got receipts and no copy of a disclosure statement. He tells me they've been in business over 30 years and have had all this success. Well where's your licenses medical staff? He says we don't give medical opinions but if one has medical issues, the shoes work. That sounds like an opinion. I asked do you all take insurance since you are the so called foot specialist. He was like you can submit a claim but other clients have told me that ortho isn't approved through their store. So basically what they/he did was deceptive and in line with a high pressure sales tactic. They are so out of line for this. I wish my parents would have declined to proceed further when they found out what they were really going to pay. I wonder how Dave or the SALESMEN or SALESWOMEN would feel if someone did the same thing to their loved ones. I bet you $1,385.15 times all the people who have felt swindled by them that they would like it all. Did I mention he had the nerve to say he gave my parents an $80 discount as if he did them a favor. They are a bunch of swindlers and if they aren't regulated, they need to be and reported to the BBB and he Attorney General. Fraudulent activity by our salesman has me with a denied claim of $1,200 on my FSA!! I specifically asked the salesman prior to starting if we would have any problem with purchasing my husbands orthotics with our FSA. His response was, "No, as long as I give you the code to send in with the claim you will have no problem." A complete lie! As I found out the hard way, we need a prescription for orthotics prior to visiting the good feet store. One star and if I could leave a negative I would. I had an appointment at the Lakeline Mall Dr location in Austin and the salesMAN was very pushy and rude as soon as I said no sale. He never did give me his name or introduced himself. My eyes just about popped out of my head when he said that the "exercise" insert set cost a ridiculous amount of money. For the three sets of inserts, plus the cushion inserts that go on TOP of the inserts, it was $2,000. When he was stating the breakdown of the prices, he said, 599, 399, etc. The first thought that popped in my mind was $5.99, then $3.99 but wait, then I was like -- "FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS?!?" and he said yes. When I said, no that's too much. He kept on giving me reasons why they're worth it by stating, 'Well, look at it this way, you spend a lot of money on tires, and other stuff' then when I said I would tell my husband these prices but I didn't think he would go for it either, the salesman said "if your husband cared about your pain, he would have been here", OMG! I felt like I had to explain why my husband wasn't there. He just kept going on and on and pressuring me. If I were anyone else that can't handle confrontation or gives in to salesmen, I would have gotten a loan to pay these suckers but I am not. I came in a year ago to get the information for the inserts. When I left, I spent more than I planned on, $1400.00. Where are my inserts now? sitting in my closet as when I use them they are good, but when I take my shoes off, my legs and feet hurt like crazy. I never could use the the hard inserts a the "golf ball" was not even where it should be on my arches. The soft inserts didn't help my ankle problem, my arch problem or my back. If it works for you, great!!!! It didn't work for me. As far as my follow up? Never got it. This was proof you don't believe everything you read, see or hear. No Sense of Customer Service So I hear these guys ads on the radio all the time. I was having trouble with shoes and thought I'd drive out there when I was close and ask a couple quick questions before buying new shoes. I walk in that they are quick to say, "Welcome." Clearly they are appointment based but I had simply one and only one question. I mentioned it was clear an appointment would be better and the lady that welcomed me said, "40 minutes." I said I just have a single quick question. She replied, "Sorry, have a seat, it will be 40 minutes." For one question? So I left. These guys could be the best thing ever but with rude, inflexible staff who would ever know. Nobody can tell me if I can use their product on multiple shoes or if I need several sets without me waiting 40 minutes? Just rude and completely opposite of what they imply with their ads.
