Went in today (2-8-25 around 10:30am) and the lady who helped me seemed very uninterested in making a sale. More unforgivable is that she was ignorant of her product line. I told her from the beginning that I had my own custom insole I needed to use. She didn't tell me that none of the shoes had removable inserts until after I kept asking, seemed apathetic as she sent me to look at some shoes, and didn't want me putting my insole on top of the existing one because it would "dent the leather." I left the story and found online that redwings DOES have shoes with removable footbeds! I will look for another brand. It's a shame because the last time I purchased from redwings, I found the associate to be so knowledgeable of how to get the perfect pair of boots for me! read more

I came to return some boots a couple days after I bought them. Long story short I was misled at a different location about the return policy. Julian and Drew took good care of me in the end. Just wanted to give a shout out to Julian because he just started a couple months ago. He had a great personality the entire time even though I was upset in the beginning. Poor service horrible sale and bad return polices Bought shoes at 9503 Research Blvd store had to bring back 1st pair due to ill fitting shoes with the inserts I bought the salesperson told me would help in comfort. No it did not... brought those shoes back promptly as I needed shoes that did not hurt my legs, back, and feet as these shoes did. They took those back and I was told I had up to a year if the new shoe and more expensive inserts "were really the only way to go", still hurt my feet, "as a trade in", since they already took back the 1st pair. It took me a month to get back to store because I work and my schedule did not meet with theirs before I came I called and was again told I could trade them in over the phone I brought the 2nd pair back to store fully prepared to pay the off set price (because the 2nd pair hurt just the same as the 1st pair) the salesperson this time told me it was the soft heal insert I put under their 2nd pair of inserts at much more expensive inserts (I bought had them special fitted for my feet) explains to me it's not their shoes I told the person the shoe were ill fitting and I found the 2nd insert to remove most of the discomfort I have with the shoes but by the end of my 12 HOUR shift the shoes caused excruciating pain. I was told it's not their problem I need to remove the second insert and I would be able to wear their shoes in a way it would not hurt my feet. I said I f that were the case I would not have put it there. They would not take the shoes back it has been past their "30day policy". 1. Up selling in this store is a must be prepared for the lies to flow. They do not know a thing about real work and a good fit in a shoe. 2. Keep in mind the lies don't stop there they will blame you for your attempting to salvage your own feet from the hell they sell. 3. You're better off buying shoes from a second hand flea market stand outside the flea market. NOT RED WING. I have no words for the feeling I get when I put on my Red Wing boots; it is something heavenly. This means everything to those of us who work on our feet. To me what's on offer here is the privilege of being fitted and advised by experienced staff, and the ability to have boots re-soled on equipment originally used to manufacture my boots. There's no doubt about the quality. My money helps put food on someone's table so that these things can happen. I ended up buying the 2404s; they're lace-ups which have a Gore-Tex lining that helps keep my feet warm in wintertime. The sole is made from some slip-resistant material (Aztec 2.0 super sole) that has a good grip on oily floors. (It's not rubber, but it's better than rubber on oily floors.) The total cost was nearly $300; re-soling costs around $70 if I remember correctly. These boots should last decades. The up-front cost is less than what the young & the restless spend at the bar in a month. Previously I wore the 2264s; they're super-comfortable even without the separate inner soles I bought for the 2404s, just a bit heavy for my taste. Before that I wore the Pecos pull-ons, the 1155. I found they don't have the support of the lace-ups, but they do look great. I also tried the 6672s; they're great but have rubber Vibram soles - not good on oily floors. For these boots I needed the extra sole liners to make their comfort comparable to the 2264s. Also they have a cemented outer sole; it cannot be replaced. The upside is they're wonderfully light and compact, and cool in the summertime. Welted sole boots are a bit bulkier, which make it a bit more difficult for me to avoid scuffing the kick panels in the expensive cars I'm accustomed to getting into and out of. (That was a joke.) I've been helped by Travis, Lynn, and Steven at this location. I've learned to listen to what they have to say because they know more than I do about boots and feet, even though I do my own research. Great old-fashioned shoe store. Personal attention from well trained staff. And of course the shoes are comfortable and last for decades. There is sometimes a break-in period because they are real leather and solidly built, but then they are formed to your foot and feel great. read more

Top notch product, as good as it gets service. I went to work for my dad's company, working construction, in my teens. My first pair of work boots were Red Wings (purchased elsewhere). Years later, I found myself starting another construction job. I bought another pair of Red Wing work boots from this specific location. Those boots were "bulletproof", just as the first pair were, and I remember the staff to have been knowledgeable. So when it came time for me to buy a new pair of boots recently, I didn't have a list of places to go. I knew I was going to find what I wanted at this specific store: a great pair of boots sold by a competent and friendly staff. That is exactly what I received. Every single employee is knowledgeable and customer service driven. Excellent products aside, the employees at the Burnet store are what make this a 5 star business. The company as a whole is also of high standard. These days I own my own business. I can choose to wear whatever I want and, while woodworking/wood finishing doesn't require workbooks, I choose Red Wings for daily use. I'll pay the premium for something that will last, something that can be repaired, something made in America and sold by the high caliber folks at this store. For starters let me just say that I was brought into the store by the product's reputation. Red wing boots, if you take care of them or eventually resole them, are supposed to last you the rest of your life. And while they do that they are supposed to be among the most comfortable you'll ever wear. I had a great experience once I walked in the door. Two experienced staff members helped me select the boot I wanted, made sure I was fitted properly, and even helped determine the pressure points on my feet (they have a machine for that part.) In addition they answered all my questions regarding care for the leather. Real polite, too. The boots themselves are quite comfortable out of the box. I can see the quality of the stitching and the leather is of excellent quality. Overall a great experience. I listed them as moderate in price. While the boots are by no means cheap their sturdiness and quality more than make up for it. See that adage about the man who buys shoes that are merely okay every 6 months to a year, versus the man who spends a little extra only once. Take note: The store itself isn't very visible from the street. It's tucked into the back right corner of the lot. read more

He gave my wife and I his undivided attention and even grabbed multiple sizes of shoes as well as told us about the services they offer and the amount of time they take. He even taught us a way to tie the thinner shoelaces so they would stay through a full shift. I had an amazing experience here. I brought in a pair of Red Wings that were probably 30 years old and needed to be re-heeled. I asked if they could change my heels from a cowboy to a walking height. Not only were they able to do it; they ended up doing a full re-sole with new insoles and included a full conditioning all for the price of the re-heel ($50). Plus the boots and soles look amazing. I believe I worked with Travis while there. I would buy a new pair from them in a second if I ever needed them. read more
