Tortellini
Sam E.

Light, fresh, bistro type environment. I had mixed feelings about my experience. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting, creating a pleasant setting for dinner. Our server was kind and approachable, though they appeared preoccupied due to a wine event happening in the back area, which impacted the attentiveness of the service. I ordered the tortellini, which unfortunately arrived a bit cold and lacked flavor complexity. It felt one-note and somewhat boring, which was disappointing given the restaurant's reputation. Despite the nice ambiance, the combination of service distractions and the quality of my meal left me wanting more. Overall, The Golden Boot has potential, but the execution during this visit was a little off. Years ago this place always delivered excellent dinner, so maybe just an off night.

Organic Grillo Terre Siciliane .. dry & crisp!

First off .. the service here is outstanding! Thanks to our gracious server .. Leigha!! First time visiting this neighbourhood Italian Caffe .. blown away by the friendliness of all the staffs on duty!! All Covid protocols are still observed and tables are well spaced with partitions. Our lunch highlights .. Caesar Salad .. maybe one of the best in town as it has a perfect balance of all the classic ingredients .. garlic .. olive oil .. cheese etc. romaine was super fresh .. a must order item! Minestrone .. not your everyday tomato based minestrone that we all came to expect, this one according to our server, is made by the Chef's own home recipe as each Italian home will have their own interpretation! This one is very hearty and full of vegetables, beans etc... Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Cinghiale .. long, flat wide noodles with slow braised wild boar sauce, a rustic dish that hits the spot with your first bite!! An addition of red chilli flakes adds an extra kick to this soulful dish!! As expected from the Chef, the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection!! I have already eyed a few items we will try on our next visit!! ( saw some great pizzas passing by us .. next time they will be on our table!! )

Found this local establishment browsing through a city magazine. Seems to be a spot for locals. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the host and has if we had reservations. We did not, so instead of a table we got to sit at the bar which was perfect for my wife and I. Very casual atmosphere and not loud at all. Mixed crowd from older couples to families. Very welcoming. The bartender was very attentive and such a pleasure to speak with quickly making us feel like family. We both ordered a beverage and placed our food food. To start they bring out the Bread Basket. Our food arrived shortly after. We both ordered the same meal. Cannelloni fresh and homemade. We ordered the mix. You get three pieces one Spinach Cannelloni, one Chicken and Mushroom Cannelloni and one ricotta cheese in a creamy red sauce. The pasta was perfect. Expertly crafted as was the sauce. Was sad when I looked down and noticed the pasta was gone. I ate it all. Before leaving I ordered the tiramisu to go. So glad I did. You must try this restaurant if you're in the area. A+++

Amazing! This food was delicious! It's a small place but the service is very friendly and welcoming. The margherita was so yummy and the cheese they used was perfect. The Cesar salad was full of flavor and pepper (I love pepper) we also got a "fettuccine Alfredo" they have it named differently but same plate. All was great. We went in on a playoff game and the vibe was joyous! I highly recommend the margherita most of all!

Antipasto platter $20 - so good

My new favourite place! I worked at a place called Boccavino in Calgary that was top notch food in a cozy seating space run by family and since I moved back I haven't found something similar in comparison out in Vancouver.... until now. Reservations are recommended on a weekend but give it a try and you may get lucky because turnover is fairly quick. I love everything about the menu - the choices, prices and end product. I inhaled the antipasto platter and bread they serve with oil and vinegar and then over ate my share of pizza. To top it off we ordered two tiramisu's which were delicious. The prices are perfect, they aren't over stated for food or liquor which IMO is the smart way to go. If things are overpriced, you end up ordering less of it while people tend to order more when it's decently priced which in turn equals more revenue anyways for the restaurant. Cannot wait to be back!

The restaurant must had been hit by salt train. The service was fantastic but the food was way salty. White cream sauce was so salty. Red sauce was ok but still salty. Pizza was once again too salty. The sauce was good and the meat ball spaghetti would have been so perfect (pasta was done pefectly al-dente; but why why why make it salty. Honestly, the place has a great potential and super friendly and fast service. Please put reduce the salt content by 1/2, then you will double the taste.

I've been here once before (about a year or so ago) and I wanted to bring my sister! She's a big pasta fanatic and we've been craving!! We ordered the antipasto platter which came with a variety of meat, cheese, garlic prawns, and pickled pepper and artichoke. Very delicious! For our mains I got a tagliatelle gamberoni which was prawns in a spicy tomato sauce - I absolutely loved it and would for sure order again! I don't remember the name of the dish my sister ordered but it was spaghetti noodles with chunks of tomato. It was good but I preferred mine. To finish it off we ordered the tiramisu and it was so good! Prices are very reasonable and great to go out during these times and help local restaurants. I think it was the one lady serving all 7 or 8 tables and she was doing great. Service was a bit slower towards the end but I really don't blame her! She was running around and doing the best she could. I can't wait to come back!Antipasto

However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).

We were given a few small pieces of bread with some thinly sliced meat, a tomato spread and a few pieces of Parmigianno Reggiano cheese. Hmmm...that was kind of different. Usually it's just bread with Olive oil & balsamic vinegar, or bread with some kind of spread. Adding the thinly sliced meat and the few pieces of cheese was a nice touch. I especially enjoyed the cheese! For our entrees my friend ordered Linguine e salmone, and I ordered Bucatini all Bomba. The Linguine e salmone came with a fairly large and thick piece of salmon. I was impressed with how generous the portion of salmon was for this dish. My dish was tasty but kinda paled in comparison next to the huge slab of salmon on my friend's plate. No fault of the restaurant as I had opted not to add any protein to my dish. I have a feeling if I'd added protein then there's a good chance I'd have ended up with a similar sized piece on my plate as well. Salmon for example would have cost an extra $14 to add to my dish. For that sum, I have a feeling it would be a pretty generous slab of salmon they'd be adding. I did very much enjoy the flavors of my dish. The portion of pasta looked a bit small upon first glance, but it was actually quite filling. I had just enough room after my pasta to order a Grappa Tiramisu for dessert, and as I don't come to Port Moody very often, I decided to splurge and order one. Mmmmm...sooo good. If you like Italian food, this place is quite a gem. I also love that they have a Vegetarian lasagna on their menu. As someone who doesn't eat meat, a Vegetarian lasagan is something that always grabs my attention when I'm at Italian restaurants. If I find myself at Osteria Povera again, I will definitely order the Vegetarian lasagna next time! Service: Fair Parking: Free parking on the street

We stumbled upon this place while waitlisted elsewhere nearby but Im glad that happened. The ambiance of Povera is old timey, warm, and intimate. Tables are small and somewhat compact but it doesn't feel that way. The service was alright. The only time service fell short was when we asked for things like a straw for the drink or fresh ground pepper. Maybe staff were tired as it was the end of the night or maybe they were really busy. Regardless, we did have to ask a few times before they brought things over. Brownie points to our server though - We had a lovely server who was patient and let us take our time to review the menu. And he generously offered up the antipasto spreads and focaccia, which was delicious! The food was great. Highly recommend the focaccia. It was so good! Seasoned just right and had a great crunch. Listened to others' recommendations and got the salmon linguine. Now, it may sound simple on paper (lemon, rosemary, linguine, salmon) but it is done very well. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rosemary did a lot of heavylifting but wasn't overwhelming the dish. The lemon was a touch of acid to being brightness to the dish. Everything worked together. We also got the Bomba pasta with chicken. Also good, had a lot of flavours working together! The chicken also has a crisp exterior and tender interior. I'd definitely come back here for a date night or a more intimate chat with friends.

My brother & I shared the tantalizing La Casalinga Salad - one of the best salads I've ever had while dining out. We shared two pizzas - a Capricciosa (it was great) & the magnificent Maradona (spicy sausage). The crust is so chewy & tastes excellent. What was surprising to find was that I didn't feel like a stuffed bear after completing the pizza. For dessert I had the awesome Pistachio Tiramisù. Mama Mia! It is a small restaurant so it can quite intimate with whoever you're there with. But it's a clean and very beautifully decorated restaurant. A cute small patio as well for the summer time. Italian food is one of my favourite cuisines. However, I am dairy free and it's very rare to find an Italian restaurant specifically that'll provide dairy free and/or vegan options. Lucky for me, this restaurant had the option of providing dairy free cheese on any of their pizzas (at an additional cost). Plus I saw that they had one vegan option on their menu which was great so I could still enjoy the food. While they have vast menu, they didn't have alot of options with just beef on its own and we didn't see any chicken options. Lots of pork options and beef/pork combinations; but they did have some vegetarian and fish options as well. I would recommend making a reservation though because they can get very busy since it is a small restaurant. I've been here on Friday/saturday/sunday evenings and luckily we made a reservation each time because it was full. The carbonara was just okay and both dishes were only lukewarm rather than pipping hot. Service at the bar felt distracted, with the bartender drifting off mid-conversation, and the pizza maker was wearing a very worn T‑shirt styled like a chef coat, which added to a generally casual, neighborhood feel. Overall, it was a hearty enough meal for the area, but with these prices and execution, it's a 3‑star experience.

It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh.
