Four of us stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. The place was lively and filled with big groups. Our food was served hot and quickly. We dug into both the appetizers before I had a chance to take pics One of our party members stated the gator bites were the best he had ever tasted. The homemade pineapple habanero sauce for the coconut shrimp had just the right amount of kick to it. We enjoyed our meal very much as we have all the previous times we've dined at The Gator Shack. We will definitely return Highly recommended

The steak was delicious!! We had the seared Mac and cheese and cabbage w bacon! It was all delicious except they missed the mark w the fried Mahi- it was really dry! It was packed but staff was friendly and helpful w suggestions. Ambience of a hometown bar and grill nothing fancy right up our alley!!!

My wife and I took our son, daughter-in-love and 4 grandchildren there for lunch. My grandchildren begged to go. We had been there in April and they wanted to return. Everyone greatly enjoyed their meal. The 4 grandkids had sandwiches (two cheeseburgers and one Philly, and one ham & cheese -- the sandwiches were large), our son had a gator bite po boy, my wife and daughter-in-love had pulled pork and I had fried shrimp. We all shared a basket of gator bites. As side benefit we also went on the Eco tour. What a fun day!

If you are ever up this way. This is a good place to stop. There are not a lot of options this way with restaurants. The service was friendly and the food was good. This is a local spot and a casual place. Everyone knows everyone here. It is a friendly place with a big bar in the middle of the place. The place was easy to find and it had plenty of parking spaces. It also had a beautiful huge tree on the side. I asked the waitress what was good. The restaurant had a daily special. It was hard to choose. She responded with everything. I will say that what I got was good. The cheese curds tasted great and the fish sandwich was good. It was flaky and good. I would get it again. The menu had some interesting choices that I did not get like frog legs, gator, and lobster nuggets. I enjoyed the meal and time here.

5/5 for sure. Will definitely be back. Great service, very tasty apps, and huuuuuge margaritas. Recommend trying the shrimp po boy, fried pickles, and the gator bites, of course!

All I have to say is Wow!!! The perfect place to eat good food in a comfortable laid back atmosphere! The waitress Shannon was AMAZING!! She took such good care of us. My husband had the steak cooked medium and it was spot on. You get to pick your steak before they cook it. He also had a loaded baked potato and onion rings (they were perfection) loved that they were not over battered. He also got cole slaw and that was amazing also. I ordered the Pork Ribeye (one word; delicious) mixed veggies that were so fresh and tasty and a sweet potato which came with what looked like home cinnamon butter. I did also get a salad. For dessert we had Florida orange cheese cake, so good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We drove 2.5 hours and we are so happy we went. This truly is a Gem!!

I've driven by this restaurant more than 100 times while working but never stopped in. I decided after parking in the lot to send an email and could smell the grills working. I had already eaten so only got the Puny Burger with hand cut fries. I have to say fir the price it was a great value and cooked perfectly. I now to try for dinner the next time I'm in the area.

While in Sebring for the Porsche races, I stopped by The Gator Shack. Sebring is rather void of restaurants, so other than Apex located at the Sebring International Raceway Hotel, this is about it. It caters to visiting tourists with some novelty local Florida and Southern dishes such as gator nuggets, chicken gizzards with homemade gizzard sauce, deep-fried pickles, and frog legs. I must say, I tried the frog legs. They were battered, deep fried to a golden brown and were totally delicious. The other menu items are of the usual suspects of grilled chicken, sandwiches, burgers, wings, etc. My partner had Ruebin and found it very good.

There is a bar that seats about a dozen. Pro Tip- If you park as directed by the signs you will be confronted by a formidable set of stairs. If that is a challenge for anyone in your party, swing around to the left of the clubhouse and you'll spot a small parking lot which much easier access. Adult Libations- Full bar. I spotted about ten taps with several popular craft brews and there are a few wines. Customer Service- My excellent bartender/server claimed to have worked there for 14 years. If that's true, they hired her at about age 6 or 7! When I told her that she said she loved me! Food- One-page American pub style menu. You've seen it all before. Fried food, sandwiches, burgers and salads. The lunch special was a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw with fries & baked beans as sides for about $8 so I went with it. As you can see from my picture it was nicely plated. The bun was buttered and toasted very nicely. The fries were crispy and hot, and the baked beans had bits of pork and onion and were very tasty. Now for the sandwich. As soon as I picked it up, I knew I was in trouble. There was a massive amount of tasty pulled pork and I thought there was no way the bun could handle it. I was right and after eating about 1/3 I finished the remainder with a fork. Note to Chef- If you switch to a toasted Kaiser roll that can handle the load, you've got yourself a 5-star sandwich! Despite the misstep with the incredibly messy sandwich, all the food was very good, and I had a nice time. This Golf Resort is off the beaten path but if you are out that way it's a solid choice for a casual lunch or dinner.

Lots of options for a place you wouldn't expect this much to choose from. You can tell owner and long-time manager Alane really cares about this place being successful. Alane is the daughter of Howard Solomon, the creator of the neighboring castle. Many of Howard's family work at the restaurant. The food is good. And the setting is excellent. Inside seating is a large ship built by Howard. There is additional inside seating below the lighthouse that has an artistic tree in the middle. Alane decorates the tree depending on the season. Salads are large with a number of ingredients. The Reuben is tasty and comes with your choice of one side. Crackers brought with the meal are Ritz. Did I say the service is good. Make sure you walk around the restaurant area as there are many decorations, including the risque 'netted' mermaid in the ship.

It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!
