    Honey wasabi crusted baked oyster

Thanksgiving at Gas House was spectacular! We ordered buffalo carpaccio and elk tidbits as our appetizers. For my entree I had the honey wasabi crusted baked oysters which were to die for. I also had a crab cake and tried a jackelope sausage which was a highlight of the night. I love the ambiance of this place- lots of animal head hanging on walls along with license plates scattered along the walls in building. The service is always great! I can't wait to come back and try more game meat and seafood!

Review # 3600. Rare Authentic Food - Games Meat. The Gashouse has something that we seek - games meat. We were looking for games meat restaurants when we are visiting Vail area mountain. We found this restaurant located at Edward and decided to have lunch there. The restaurant amenities with a lot of animals taxidermy. It is almost like a museum. Love the display. The restaurant has the bar area, main dining hall or outside seating. All are very well decorated. We started with Buffalo Carpaccio. The carpaccio is unique and games taste. Our nest app is grilled quail. It is one bird with very good marinated sauce. The grill technique is excellent. Meat is very tender. We also got grilled elk tenderloin sandwich. The coating marinated is tasty. The tenderloin also very pleasantly presented. I recommend this dish. Our visit is definitely a very good experience. Highly recommended. Service is good. Food is good.

This is one of our go to restaurants every time we travel to the Beaver Creek area! It is one of the few places that offer game meat and cook it well!! We got to sit outside and it was beautiful where we were seated. Shortly after a large party was sat and they had the sun in their faces. The waiter then moved one of the umbrellas slightly over to help and told them if the owner saw he'd be upset. We all laughed him off but shortly after the owner came to sit other guests and he noticed the table/umbrella moved almost instantly. He sat the guests and then came back and shifted the umbrella. The poor waiter looked scared and the other workers walked away as fast as they could Other than an owner who appeared to be aggressive towards his workers, the meals were delicious. Don't come here if you are expecting a fancy restaurant! This is definitely a lowkey, locals, hole in the wall place. We love it!

This was our first time visiting Vail. I asked the hotel staff where to eat games meats. They recommended Gasthouse. And it turned out to be a satisfactory experience. We were there for lunch. The interior got a lot to look at- around the walls and on the ceiling. We ordered grilled quail, Buffalo Carpaccio, elk sandwich. We don't get this type of meat in Florida. The dishes were all quite tasty. The service was good. I enjoyed the unique game meat dishes and their goofy interior decoration. I had a good time dining here.

This place is fun for all ages. Think hunting museum lol. We went on a Tuesday around 2:30 and there were only 2 other tables at the time of walk in. The phone kept ringing. Our waitress was nice and looked like she was running the entire place by herself. Another table arrived but luckily we had gotten our food already so only had to chase down for the check. The food was decent, nothing spectacular. The fried chicken was indeed moist but was in major need of seasoning. Please keep in mind I am from the south so we probably tend to over season our food but honestly this needed seasoning. The crunch was there, the tenderness and moistness from the chicken was there, but it was lacking the actual flavor to make this an outstanding dish. Macaroni was decent, fries needed salt (seasoning). The Hunters Stew was good. The kids chicken tenders were also good and kid friendly so that helped. The bar drinks were the best thing if I were to be honest. Although they may need a little help during the day, I would probably return to try the dinner menu as I saw a few interesting things listed that caught our attention.

We were hungry for lunch and saw this little place on the corner. What a great find! Although we've since heard the meat is the big draw, we each had a great meal. My favorite part of my meal was the truffle fries!! Prompt and friendly service, clean table and utensils.

11/10 experience at Juniper! This was the best dining experience we've had this trip! My husband…read morecleaned every single plate. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the owner (who was working as the host!) and we felt that he paid great attention to detail. He even let us pick where we wanted to sit! Our favorite appetizer was the pork belly - so much flavor with the squash and apple. I loved the vegetarian dish - lions mane mushrooms with vegan cheese and shaved veggies. We will be back soon!

We came here for Christmas dinner on the recommendation of a coworker. We were staying in Vail and…read moredecided to leave the village in hopes of, if not saving money, finding food that was a better value for the expense. Unfortunately, we didn't find it at Juniper. We walked in and there was no "Merry Christmas" or "happy holidays" or really any welcome whatsoever. We were then led to a high top that was next to a temporary wall, so it was a bit cold. I will never understand why restaurants that charge $45-$75 for an entre will sit people at a high top - this is Uncomfortable. Women in heels do not want to try to find a place for their feet. Also, there was no reason for it - it wasn't saving space. It could have just been a regular table. The service was lacking, to say the least. The menu doesn't have a lot of descriptions, including important information about size of beef portions, but the server didn't provide this information until asked. Even the $100 wagyu special made NO mention of the fact that it was 5oz and only one raviolo (though the menu said 'ravioli') - we didn't order this anyway. We ordered the duck confit pizza ($30), pork chop entre ($50), brussels sprout salad ($20), side order of crab cakes ($25), and side order of potato croquettes ($16). The duck pizza was decent but for $30, the crust was rather flavorless - if the crust was a chewy, charred sourdough, this would have been perfect. At least the duck was good. It was a sizeable portion, so if you're only 2 people and you order this, I would not order another app. The pork chop was a properly sized entree with tasty sides. It was cooked well and the only complaint we had was that the bacon really took away from the flavor. The menu did say bacon, so it wasn't a surprise, but it was unnecessary to the plate. The brussels sprout salad for $20 a bit of a disappointment. It was small and overly vinegary. There were 5 small cubes of butternut squash that could have just been boiled. It's a salad, so I'm not expecting fireworks, but like, do something different? The crabcakes were - as the server pointed out - very small. They tasted great and came with a small frisee salad, and the preparation was good but wow, so small. Not worth $25. The potato croquettes were the biggest disappointment. They were four TINY pomme dauphines that barely had potato in them - if you pressed on them, they entirely compressed. Do not order this. And then, we get the bill, and the Bombay martini I ordered was $24.50. The same martini in Vail Village cost me $20 the night before (and the same martini at a comparable place in Denver would have been $18). The other cocktails were $18, so I really can't imagine why this drink would be 30%+ more. Overall, I can't say I'd recommend this place. Just go to Vail and have dinner - at least then, you won't be annoyed at the cost.
