I was so scared to get blonde in my hair because of poor past experiences with bleach. Andra was my stylist and did my haircut. It was such a beautiful haircut, so I scheduled a color appointment. It took 3 hours but it was a worth it process. Andra was kind and easy to talk to. The salon is small but a comfortable vibe, everyone was so nice. I moved here about a year ago before the pandemic happened and was just wanting to do something different with my hair. I had black hair that I have been growing for several years and just wanted to breathe new life into it. So why not beachy blonde right? Well thankfully I didn't have to search for long and stumbled on The Fox Salon off Instagram. I liked what I saw and was reading the testimonials and it seemed like a good fit for me as far as what I was looking for..Took my chances and a year later Here I am with the hair of my dreams! I couldn't believe it! Carrie is amazing at what she does and she's also very time and task oriented which I can appreciate. She uses high quality products and she also offers products that have natural ingredients. And the shampoos she uses smell awesome! My appointments with her is usually at the end of my day and every visit has been just a magical experience. Carrie knows her stuff and she's open minded to what you want to do with your hair. Her salon is very tidy and she works hard to keep it that way. She keeps me laughing to past the time while I process or while she's mixing.. her music playlist is also a plus for me..she's got a little Taylor Swift, Khalid, Surfaces, and John Mayer in the mix... I've also bought some of the hair products she has set out to try and I have been absolutely in love with the hair oils keeping my hair shiny and lusturous especially the hair that is not mine lol. Carrie suggested extensions my last visit and having extensions is new to me.. the maintenance is not bad at all. Can't do the top bun much but hey sometimes beauty is a compromise right? Okay so.... The ONLY reason I hesitate to write this review is because Carrie already stays booked and I don't want to share her with y'all But, alas, I love her so work so much and I need to make that known. Credit where credit is due, am I right?! FYI my hair is: thin (like y you can see my scalp) fine (think strands of silk delicate) wavy (but given the 2 previous components, we may as well just call my curl pattern: frizz) And so naturally I dream of having voluminous, smooth hair, right? Somehow Carrie actually made that dream a reality when she started putting extensions in my hair. I had a history of buying tape-ins from a fancy hair brand (which shall remain nameless) and of course tried my hand at Amazon ones ‍ I eventually came to the conclusion that the glue was just "supposed" to rip my hair out each time, so tbh I gave up and started clipping fake hair in and out each day. This review is OVER DUE! I've been going to Carrie for almost a year now. I was looking for someone that was a color specialist since I have such dark hair, it is very hard to lift to a light color. I was sticker-shocked when I was rung up after my first appointment but then I realized that my hair needed that treatment and color fix. Love her work, finally found someone that can do my hair how I want it. Yes she is expensive but I do not mind paying to get my hair done right and to look great. It just took me 3 years and four different stylist to finally found someone that can color my hair so it can look good and not be dried out and brittle. Ladies and gents do not settle, you deserve the best! Last thing, she is in high demand so you have to book your appointments a month in advance, well that is the case for now before she becomes more popular! After moving to a new state, I had the daunting task of finding a new salon. After researching several salons near me I came across The Fox Salon with their 5 star reviews. After reading through the reviews and looking through photos of the salon and client photos I decided to book an appointment. On their website, is a specific form to fill out if you are a new client where you answer several questions about your hair type, hair goals, provide photos of the front and back of your hair and inspiration photos. I was contacted by the owner, Carrie, and she spent time asking me about my hair, looking through the photos I had provided and laying out a game plan for what we could do with my hair. She also was very transparent about the cost and time. I went ahead and booked my appointment with her. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, offered a beverage and given a seat while I waited for my appointment. The salon smelled wonderful and the music playing was exactly my style (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, little worship much here and there, etc). Once I sat in Carrie's chair she was so thorough and spent 4 hours (yes, my hair needed a lot of help since I have gray coverage on top of highlights - 4 months grow out) turning my hair into the hair of my dreams. My hair tends to labor on the warm side so we discussed that (which most stylists I have been too in the past haven't taken the time to do which as resulted in my highlights being too brassy or orange, yikes!) but not Carrie! I am absolutely in love with the color of my hair! She also provided a suggestion for my hair cut to help provide more shape and the haircut has really made a difference and I'm loving it. All in all, I had such a great experience and was so pleased with how Carrie is as a hairstylist and how she runs her salon. You can tell she cares about people and her hairstylists.
