I was not getting a haircut, a straightening treatment or any additional services. Just a color change. Nearly $1,000 for that is absolutely outrageous. What made the experience even worse was the cancellation policy. I received a message stating there was a $50 cancellation fee for canceling after 24 hours, but the message was sent exactly one hour AFTER my appointment time, which I found incredibly ironic. When I called to clarify, I was told the fee was actually 50% of my total service cost, making the cancellation fee around $200. I was never aware of this $200 fee beforehand. I even asked about rescheduling because I was willing to consider another appointment, but I was told I would still have to pay the $200 fee to reschedule. On top of that, the person on the phone told me the stylist had no available appointments until NEXT YEAR. For context, when I went in for my consultation, the salon was completely empty. Not a single other person was there besides my boyfriend and me. Yet the pricing and cancellation policies were treated as if I were asking for some extraordinary service. The person I spoke with on the phone was also incredibly rude and completely unwilling to work with me or offer any reasonable solution. I understand that salons have policies and that stylists deserve to be paid for their work, but charging nearly $1,000 for a simple color change and then expecting around $200 in cancellation fees without clearly communicating that policy is unacceptable. Overall, the lack of transparency, excessive pricing and poor customer service made this an incredibly frustrating experience.
