I've been a customer Here for over 5 years. Had a partial Highlight with Katy as she squeezed me in before Christmas, thankfully! My hair turned out beautiful as usual. She's does my platinum highlights as well as added low lights occasionally for dimension. She's does a great job. Do not trust this salon, Katy specifically. It hurts my heart to leave this review, because up until this moment Katy and the manager Brittany have been very nice and easy to work with. However, this situation has been extremely unprofessional and a 1 star review is well deserved. In fact i would give 0 stars if i could. I have been going to Katy for over a year for cuts, and i finally gained the trust for to lighten my hair. i have had terrible experiences in the past which led to my distrust, so it took some time. I also had previous color in my hair that i was nursing back to health. After a year, i asked her if she felt like my hair could take getting a partial balayage and she said yes. I showed her a photo of my goal, and she quoted me $250. (side detail, she is well aware how much i despise warm blonde tones in my hair. My goal was a cool blonde tone.) on 10/2 i got my hair done by Katy. I was SO happy with my hair and the color i was almost crying because someone finally got it right. After one wash, my hair went totally warm. I messaged her and she asked me to come in the next day, so i did. When she saw it she mentioned that she saw exactly what i was talking about and said we could re-tone it. And then proceeded to sell me a $40 purple shampoo that "would help with the warmth". Whatever toner she did completely erased my highlights for probably about a month, which she did not mention would happen so that was upsetting. (i am now $340 into this. $250 + $50 tip + $40 shampoo) When i asked her why my hair was a solid color she said it would wash out. so a month goes by, still only having what i asked for for about a week, and the highlights start to peek through again... in a golden blonde. So i message her again and she proceeds to tell me "like we discussed in our first session it will take multiple sessions to obtain your goal, but over time we can definitely get there". She absolutely did NOT tell me that i would need to come in for additional sessions to get the color i wanted. Not during the consult and not when she brought me back in to "fix it" and sell me an additional product. So she has the owner reach out to me and the owner brought me in again to re tone it. During our session she mentioned that in order to get cooler, it would need additional sessions but we can try to neutralize it now and see how we like it. She also mentioned i should wait about 6-8 weeks before trying to lighten it again to save the integrity of my hair. After our session, i was happier in a sense that it was better. But, i understood that to actually get the color that i was wanting i needed more sessions. So, because i did like katy and i thought she was capable of getting me there, i messaged Katy to let her know that i would like to move forward with another session like she recommended during my next appointment if time allows because im really just not liking the warmth of the 1 session. (which was beyond the 6-8 week waiting period) She then responds that she doesn't feel comfortable moving forward with lightening my hair, and dropped me as a client. I spoke with the owner again to express how i do not think this is fair, and she backed Katy and told me that she didn't believe me that Katy did not inform me of multiple sessions during our consult. So not only is Katy unprofessional and unable to hold herself accountable when she does make an error, her manager condones this behavior and agrees with treating clients this way. I am not a difficult client. If i am told i should not do a service because my hair cant handle it, i believe its absurd to not listen. And if i am told that something should be done slowly to prevent damage, i would never challenge them. However, i do expect full transparency and to get what i paid for. Even when i offered to pay for the session that Katy was once comfortable with doing, she still said she would not do it and when i asked for a refund since she refused to finish the job she started it was declined. Why am i being punished for their mistake? I whole heartedly regret trusting Katy and ever giving her a dollar of my money. read more

They can no longer provide quality curly cuts. May be fine for other cuts, but curly haired girls - stay away!!! Parking is also terrible as it's by the beaches and they don't enforce the parking rules, so unless you're there early, good luck... Edit: worried that the owner would come on here. I really hesitated to post this because as you say, I have come there for about a year, and never had the really uncomfortable experience I had today. You put me with a new person who was upset when I asked her questions and then didn't finish my cut. Of course it's ok that she asked me questions - but she was uncomfortable when I sought clarification. This was a bizarre interaction. The reason people don't post on Yelp is because they're afraid they'll be yelled at by the owner - but I think it's important that people know how they might be treated by the business. And yes I have mentioned concerns about the parking, and I was told by your staff that's it just not enforced. That is why I mentioned it. Others may not care at all and that's ok, but I thought I'd mention it for those who do. read more

I have been going to Delaney at Salt Salon for a few years now and she is the absolute best! I have referred all of my friends, family, and even strangers I meet to her! Everyone loves her and for good reason. Not only is she extremely talented and knowledgeable about her craft but she is also so enjoyable to spend time with. Sitting in the chair for a long time can feel exhausting, but with Delaney I forget where I am and feel as if I'm just chatting with a friend. Great salon! Perfect location near the beach (parking can be tough but it's the beach, so just plan accordingly!). I've gone to a couple girls here: Brittany (owner) and Delaney for both cut and color and I've loved what they've done every time. They always listen to what I'm looking for and make me feel comfortable. They also never pressure me into purchasing products, which I like. Toner on point, Brazilian blow out on point. Haircut quality it passes, not quite refined. No seasoned hairdressers. Atmosphere is loud but stylists friendly. I was not charged the $75 cancellation fee upfront, had they asked I wouldn't have even tried the salon. This is a tell tale sign of a business not being managed well.Tells me they are getting customers but not Repeat. If the product is worth the value customers show up. For example add a let's schedule your next visit when checking out process. They made no attempt to keep me as a customer after I had spent $500 hair cut, toner, Brazilian blow out. So the business needs some maturity. Otherwise good. Parking lot is a bit tight too. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking. read more

This review is for Rae. I saw Rae a few times when she was still at Cortello but I'll be honest, Cortello is very expensive and it just wasn't in my budget. After a while of trying someone else out at another place, although she was cheaper I just wasn't 100% satisfied. So I decided that I'll just have to save elsewhere so that I can see Rae again.... the stuff we do for beauty.. lol Rae has left Cortello and I can't tell you how happy I am that she's her own boss at Salt. Of course she's happy too!! I'm very happy with my hair and I trust her completely!! Also, her prices are a little cheaper so that helps! read more

My stylist recently moved to this location and I have to say I really like this place. It is a smaller location with a different style layout than I have ever experienced before but I loved how much natural light came in and the open floor plan. The environment is relaxed and unpretentious, yet comfortable, clean, and overall incredibly cute. Parking was pretty easy - not sure how it will be in the summertime when everyone is going to the beach but the parking lot is private for those going into the businesses within the center. The location of the Salon is in the same Town Center where Delicomb is - very easy to find. They also carry Unite and Verb products. I see Rae specifically (who I strongly recommend) at this location however the other stylists seem to be great as well. Rae always knows what to do with my hair, is honestly about how if a look will work for you or tailoring it specifically for you, keeps you informed throughout the entire process and is genuinely just a sweet person. She has taken me from blonde to brunette and always does a killer job making your hair look as natural and healthy as possible. Go see her if you want someone who truly cares about the health of your hair AND knocks it out of the park with her color skills! read more
