This is not a review of the whole salon, just Faye. She is just simply horrible. I drove for 40 mins in the middle of the date for my appointment at 1:00 pm. I was late by 10 mins and she had already taken another customer and finished her shampoos and was cutting her hair (indicating that she did not even wait for me to show up). I politely told her that she could have at least texted me before assuming that I wasnt going to show up. She started yelling and told me she will not do my hair!!! Who does that!! She is CRAZY. I repeatedly told her I drove all the way and I was late only by 10 mins which is acceptable wait time at many other service establishments. I was shocked at her behaviour. I came to write a review and saw that another lady had the same experience with Faye. She is simply HORRIBLE. I am never going back to her ever!!!! read more

Now to clarify, this rating isn't for the whole salon, just ANDREA. You can judge the photos for yourself but here is some back story. I have been to this salon three times before. Once with Tara(amazing) and twice with Andrea. The first time turned out fine but the second time was a complete nightmare. To preface, I only get my hair done every 9 months and try to get natural highlights so when it grows out there isn't a huge difference. This has never been a problem before until this past visit. To start, the highlights were extremely rushed and put in in less than 40 minutes (for my whole head) and then she let me process for over an HOUR + heat. My hair is thin and never has taken that long but she was cutting another clients hair that entire time so she didn't come check on me until she was completely done with the other lady. I had a feeling they were not going to be what I wanted but I waited for the complete look. I expressed my concerns before paying, asking if she could tone them down and that isn't what I wanted. The highlights also only really sat at the top of my hair and just stop half way down my hair(even though i was doing my whole head). Her response was that I just needed to give it time to get used to the change, so I tried. After getting multiple second opinions I came to the conclusion that I wasn't just in my head and she actually did a horrible job. I reached out to her as politely as I could after nonstop anxiety and stress over my hair and I attached her responses below. Not a single apology and only blaming me for her mistakes. In addition she continued to make empty promises of fixing my hair even though she was telling me her plans of being out of town for the extended holiday weekend (meaning she actually wouldn't be in town). I also told her about my plans of going out of town as well so even if she did return into town, I wouldn't be there and that's why I wanted my hair fixed before I left. Before reviewing the images in the text chat only the very first image is from this most recent visit. I am not sure what the previous claimant is describing when she mentioned the service from Faye. It is an inaccurate statement at best. I have been getting my haircut by her as well as most of my family for years! Faye has always been accommodating, friendly, and professional. Hairdressers work on a tight schedule and you can't show up almost 20 minutes late and expect the current customer in the chair to get up in the middle of their session so you can skip to the head of the line. Not sure how it works where you are but if you show up late for any other service oriented experience you can expect a similar reaction. 5 minutes late is one thing, 20 minutes late with no phone call or heads up is an entirely different matter. NEWSFLASH: The world does not revolve around you. Then to behave in the manner of loudly cursing like a drunken sailor in front of the entire salon when you didn't get you way truly shows​ the class (or caste) of person you really are. I truly hope you don't return. Try some chain establishment that takes walkins. Maybe you will have better luck. read more

I love this place! you feel like you're going in to see your friends when you go in for your appt. Everyone is welcoming and you can tell they enjoy working with each other. I have tried my fair share of salons and seen my fair share of colorists too and I have to say that Andrea Willison at Avalon is by far the best. When you are a (fake) blonde having it look as natural as possible while still keeping the integrity of your hair intact is SUPER important. Andrea always keeps that in mind when working on my hair. I love it here. Andrea and Tara are amazing! They seriously both do phenomenal work. My parents used to own a salon so I'm a bit spoiled and, luckily, thanks to these 2 I can continue to be spoiled. Everyone here is friendly and easy going while getting you to look fabulous in what seems like record time! Definitely recommend it. AND their prices aren't ridiculously over the top. I haven't seen anyone do a bad job there so if they aren't available anyone will take care of you, but Andrea and Tara are who I recommend. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If you do, do not see FAYE! I went here on my wedding day to see Faye, upon recommendation from my friend and her family. I was a few minutes late to my appointment and to my astonishment, Faye began yelling, berating and lecturing me in front of the whole salon. She gave me such attitude, I was shocked and embarrassed. I told her that this is my WEDDING day! I did not deserve this treatment nor her lecturing and I broke down crying (it was an already stressful morning as anyone can imagine). Instead of being softer to me, she yelled at me some more and told me SHE WAS NOT going to do my hair because of MY attitude! WTF?!?!? Who does that! She caused me so much stress and then when I asked if anyone else could do my hair, apparently no one in the salon KNOWS how to curl hair! OMG!!!! Then Faye said she would do my hair and while I was in the shampoo chair, she came back to lecture me about how I have to be on time, I told her to stop lecturing me about the same thing, I already apologized, Then she flips out again and yells in front of everyone that she WILL NOT do my hair because of my bad attitude! Then mouths off to me and starts telling everyone with ears in the salon that I am such a bad person. TOTAL BITCH!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I was stranded because all the other salons were booked up. I went to Paul Mitchell and they politely fit me in and treated me with dignity and respect. I was late to my wedding because of FAYE at Avalon Salon.
