Frangipani is Located in a small strip mall on the beach. Upon checking in, the staff made me feel comfortable with their friendly service. They check your temperature upon entering They're all wearing masks and they have hand sanitizer available. (Kudos!) Katie was my stylist. She asked me what I wanted and we discussed the fall colors I was looking for. I showed her pic of my "usual style ", which I did not want to change. The process began. The shampooing was amazing! It was a scalp massage on steroids:) Thanks Kenzie! My end results were on point and my quarantine hair is in the past! $197 without gratuity- appropriately priced for a Master Stylist. My motto is you can't trust everyone with your hair, especially when dealing with chemicals. I had a great experience at Frangipani. I love and adore my hairstylist Lydia White. She is very good at what she does. She is very passionate about it. She takes her time and listen to her client's needs and request. I've had Lydia as a hairstylist for over 2 years now. She is the only one I trust with my hair. She knows what and how to style my hair. I live in Saint Augustine. It's a 1-hour drive from Saint Augustine to Frangipani but it's worth it. Knowing that Lydia will cut or style my hair makes the 1-hour drive worth it. I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend Lydia as a hairstylist and highly recommend Frangipani to get a haircut. This place has a positive vibe. Everyone in this place is very friendly and very accommodating. Unfortunately my hair was completely botched here. Came in wanting highlights in the same pattern my old hair stylist would do and instead I got a completely different hair color! My stylist then attempted to fix it and made my hair orange. My stylist then said she couldn't blow dry me because she lost time fixing my hair and they were closing. Wow. I had SO much fun with Macie and every other stylist here today. The salon was super clean & cute and parking/getting into the salon was very easy. Macie went above and beyond to listen to me, learn from my past stylists mistakes, and could NOT have handled curly hair better (PLUS free samples?!)! I have come here multiple times for simple services such as a trim or blowout, and yesterday I went with the intention of doing a bit more--I can say this place treats you with the same amount of care, compassion and comfort whether you are coming in for a trim or a full on new look. Lauren is a true artist in her craft and she has always made me feel confident in my curls. I went to the location on St Johns Ave. I love this place! It was my first visit and I arrived 15 minutes early. I was offered some good hot coffee and was immediately seen by my stylist, Chelsea N. As she went through the process to balayage my hair, she explained every step. I felt like I was learning and also understanding the process. I was very impressed. Yes, yes, yes!!!! Frangipani finally opened up their new space off a Atlantic and San Pablo next to the German Schnitzel House and the Fresh Market. The former tenant was a hair salon so it was perfect for them to slide right on in. The salon is very open, zen, and has a lot of space and natural light. Frangipani spared no expense in its design and details. The space is in a circular shape, which adds to the zen flow of the salon. Some of the staff, including some of my favorite stylists, from the Jax Beach location switched to this location. I can't say enough about this salon! if you have doubts on where you should go for a haircut, definitely try Frangipani! for context, i have been terrified of trying a hair salon after my hair has been botched about 4 times, the haircuts i had gotten never turned out the way i wanted as the stylist either didn't communicate and took the initiative to make some changes the haircut i wanted or just didn't know how to do the haircut i was wanting and or didn't tell me. i had given up trying to find a stylist let alone a salon that wouldn't mess my hair up and cause my self confidence to wither away. about a year or two ago i was at work and cashed out a customer (Maranda) that ended up giving me her card since i had mentioned my struggles on trying to find a hairstylist. since my past experiences always ended up horrible i had procrastinated on booking an appointment but for my 19th birthday and from others encouraging me to book an appointment i decided to try a salon one more time and finally made an appointment with Maranda. the second i walked in the door i already knew i'd be leaving the salon happy, the front desk women were so sweet and welcoming, the music playing on the speakers was amazing since it wasn't music thats currently trending and songs you'd hear at literally any other establishment, the place was also very welcoming but at the same time calming/relaxing. once Maranda was ready to get started on my appointment she took me to her chair and i told her about my past salon experiences, she understood the issues i had with past salons and definitely kept everything i said in the back of her mind the whole appointment. she was super communicative, told me why and how she'd be cutting my hair, told and showed me how to style my new curtain bangs, answered any questions i had with confidence and overall she is an amazing hairstylist and obviously loves her profession. when she took me back to shampoo my hair it was absolutely amazing, in front of the room there are curtains to close, they play soft mediation music with dim lights in the room and dim lights that aren't directly above you (thank god), and overall it was a very relaxing experience that helped me calm my anxiety and make the appointment even better. anyhow, to end my review i will say that Maranda has restored my trust in salons and she will 100% be my hairstylist from this day on, she is a beautiful soul and person and i am so grateful she had given me her card! read more

I had gone to another salon for a full foil to lighten/blend my dark brown dyed hair back to my natural (dirty blonde) and my hair turned orange! It looked awful, and it was not done right at all. I then called Frangipani to see if they had any stylist that could help me fix it. I was referred to Maddie, and set up a consult with her that same day, and she instantly came up with the perfect plan to fix it! Had my appointment yesterday for a color correcting foil, and the results are amazing! No more orange and my hair looks so natural and beautiful! I have been here roughly 4 times and have gone to many different hairstylists here. This is a very popular salon at the beach so make sure you book ahead of time. The salon itself is very pretty/ beach and clean with good space. Every hair stylist I have had has done a great job and been polite. I have had to try to get on the schedule last minute a few times hence why I have been to multiple stylists but I have like each of them! I generally feel about going to a hairdresser the way other people feel about dental visits. I'd been doing my own hair, but wanted a style change, which was above my pay-grade LOL. Katie was amazing! She explained everything she was going to do and checked in with me a lot during and after the process to make sure we were on the same page. She took the extra time to cut a bit long, and gradually go shorter until the length was exactly where I envisioned it. Frangipani even offers customers free bangs trimming to keep the style looking good. Since I'd asked for a "wash & go" style, I waited to write this until after I'd been swimming -- Katie's cut passed the test with flying colors! It looked just as good with a simple towel dry as it had at the salon & that takes mad skills. read more

I decided to try this place after reading positive reviews. I checked out their website, and scheduled an appointment. The process was cumbersome bc it asks you for several different dates unless you have a stylist in mind. I received a call the next day, and the receptionist was very professional and asked specifics so she could fit me with the best stylist for my hair length and type. She knows her stuff bc she placed me with an amazing stylist named Emily. Upon arriving, I was greeted warmly and offered a beverage. I didnt have to wait long when Emily introduced herself (very warm, friendly). She listened to me, looked at my pictures and was very receptive. She delivered exactly what I asked for and made sure to ask about softening the blunt line of my hair before she cut. She was really great to talk to; genuine. I, for once, have no complaints at all, instead have only positives. I wish I had found this place sooner, it was so nice and relaxing just like a salon trip should be. Go see Emily! P.S. I called to book a hair cut and got a same week appointment. So many places book you out 1-2 weeks. Once I arrived at the salon I was greeted with warm smiles. Brooke was the stylist I was assigned to and she was awesome! She took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted. It had been several months since I had gotten a hair cut and ideally just wanted a trim to get rid of split ends. Typically you say trim and walk out with inches gone. Brooke completely listened to me, cut off about 1/2 of split ends and also gave me a fantastic blowout! I have been a client of Emily's for 3+ years. I honestly have never loved a hairdresser so much in my life. I am picky.. very picky. My hair is part of my identify. As a blonde with a red-headed father, I cringe at the thought of looking brassy. During my first appointments with Emily, we set realistic hair goals in an attempt to correct my too-brassy "golden" blonde into a more icy, grey-blonde. It wasn't fixed overnight. It took probably 3 to 4 visits before I saw the results I wanted, but here I am three years later and women stop me in the street, the grocery store, at the stoplight, etc asking who does my hair. I got my eyebrows Microbladed by Amy and I love them! I was very nervous about getting them done but I followed Amy on instagram @amystrongcosmetics and was impressed by her work. I did a consult with her and wow was was awesome. She's got such a calm personality but her knowledge is off the charts! I felt like I was in good hands. She talked me through the whole process and covered things I didn't even think I needed to know. I was worried about color matching but we spent a lot of going over it and the result was amazing. I was referenced to the stylist, Katie by a close friend; and let me just say I absotuely loved her! I came in with pretty dry bronze colored hair and what I wanted was a deep conditioner that would bring the life back into my curls and to turn that bronze into the original ash color I had.She was so attentive and listened fully to my needs and explained to me how she would meet them. I can not say enough great things about her kindness and professionalism/ qualitative of work. I totally recommend her! My one comment and what made this not a 5 star business is that I feel like this hair studio over books their stylists. I understand competition is high and perhaps the business owner wants to maximize profits. My service was impeccable so I can't complain, but I can say it is noticeable that the stylists in the salon are being over booked. I noticed this by the way the service is done. My previous experiences at salons are quite relaxing atmosphere. In one hand a mimosa and in the other a great magazine and the stylist taking there time and not worrying about another client. I have to preface this by saying I had a previous experience that made me sad face about my hair for a month or so which may make me biased on how much I LOVE this salon and Cailey who was my colorist. We did a consultation and then I made an appt a few weeks later and the whole process ran so smoothly. She took her time listened to what I wanted and made suggestions on how we could get started on the look I wanted. This is only the first step but I LOVE my hair so far! For the last few years I have been looking for a hair studio that knows hair. You would not think this was a hard thing, but if you have my hair it is near impossible. I have thick Asian horse hair. I'm talking about more hair than 2 normal people. The one difficult part about my hair is that I had recently had a baby so my hair was doing that post baby hair loss growing all different and not staying down by any means with any treatment in the world. All you moms know what I am talking about when you lose that hair in the front and it starts to grow back and it will not stay down no matter how much gel and what not you put on it. So the only thing you can do is pin it back or get a cut. Unfortunately for me I went into any old walk in hair cutting place off the street and asked them to fix it. The girl said she knew how to fix it, but by the middle of the cut she turned the chair around and would not let me look in the mirror. Let it be known that I was crying when I left and I was defeated. After reading the great reviews on yelp about Frangipani Hair Studio, I was very excited to make an appointment and see if anyone could fix my messed up hair. First off the receptionist was great in finding me an appointment right away that fit into my crazy schedule. That is a big pulse in my book. When I arrived for my appointment I was a little late due to our gps. As I entered the hair studio I was impressed by the cleanliness and up beat atmosphere. This was no Super Cuts. I felt very comfortable in the studio and loved the vibe it was giving off. My stylist was John, he took his time talking to me understanding what I had gone through and what I was looking for. He was very open and understanding on my predicament. I showed him pictures of how I would love to eventually have my hair. He was honest when he told me it would be a working progress and it is not something that a onetime cut could do. I understood this and you would too if you saw the mess he was working with. John walked me through everything we were going to do and was very meticulous about checking what was in all the products he used on me. I have allergies to so many different things. The wash was so relaxing I almost fell asleep, when he put the hot towel on my head I wanted to stay there forever. John explained how he was going to cut my hair, since I had so much and it was going to take much longer than most. He walked me through how to style my hair at home and how to take care of it on my own. The products he used on my hair are very natural and they do not weigh my hair down like all the other stuff I bought from other salons. John took the time walking me through what to use, how to use it and everything. Oh and just so you know, I was the last appointment of the night and it took extra time so these people stayed with me way past their closing time. The service I received from John and the receptionist was so great I will definitely recommend this place to everyone any anyone. I am so happy with the job I cannot explain it, I feel like a whole new woman and I am not afraid to go out of my home. This is truly the best gift anyone could do for themselves. read more
