I finally found a salon that could help me ease into growing out gray hair by adding additional silver highlights to match my existing gray, as opposed to blonde highlights. Vilma was my stylist, and she actually listened to what I was trying to accomplish and took the time to look through several pictures with me. She also understood that I was going for low maintenance and didn't try to push product on me and suggested that I only come in about every six months for a fresh cut and a toner application to keep the silver bright. When it was time for my cut after the highlights, she suggested we blow dry my hair first so that we could see the layering as she was cutting, which was a really good idea. I also felt the prices are better than what you would pay at a chain salon. Sooo .... you know what happens when you think you can be your own stylist? ..... YOU FAIL, lol!!! I tried doing my hair 2 weeks ago and failed BIG TIME!!! I reserved a consultation on their online website this weeks and just so happened that I was in luck! I went after work and Meghan looked at my hair and she created a game plan to get it back in shape. Today was my appt and again I lucked in and got Meghan to be my stylist .... or should I say ... My artist! 2 hrs .... and I was leaving feeling beautiful.... almost so that I wanted to cry .... my anxiety and depression got the best of me last year and it stripped me completely. I had a very bad experience, Megan cut my hair uneven, one side was longer then the other, gave me short layers explained I want long layers. Megan was very, unfriendly and bad uncaring attitude. I paid for a hair treatment, my ear was burning laying with my head in sink, had to yell to her my ear is burning where she put steam, I wasn't even told about treatment with steam. I paid $180 and still tipped her. This was the first and last time I would ever go back. Being a first time client it was an awful, nightmare and very mistreated. I was so excited to go back and get my hair done since the first time I went it was absolutely perfect. Perfect cut, style and color. This time was different. I asked for dirty blonde that looks very natural. Didn't want my hair to look "done". I also asked for my bangs to be cut a little shorter and got talked out of that because curtain bangs are supposed to be long. But regardless, I wanted them shorter. Really hate to leave a bad review, but a horrible job done right before graduation had me in tears. Just spent $75 to get the minimum fixed (luckily I had a connection and they squeezed me in tonight before my graduation tomorrow).. still need to go back and pay another $75 to finish the fix. Not to mention I paid over $200 for her to ruin my hair. So I came here looking for a little root tough up to blend into the rest of my hair. She ended up doing huge bleach highlights all over. The color was way too bright at the roots and didn't match. The top was a cool ashy blonde and my ends a warm blonde (which matched my skin tone-I look horrible with ashy blonde) and some places were grey. There were a couple spots that were literally white. I showed a picture of the cut I wanted with lots of layers and got an uneven cut and no layers. I asked for a little cut of and then 5 inches were gone.. not to mention the left side wasn't highlighted properly so it looked like steps on the side. The lady who I went to to fix it pointed out everything I saw wrong. She said it was really bad and as she kept looking to assess the worse it got. I took lots of pictures, but to stay anonymous I will not post them. During the wash the new stylist said that my hair looked too complete different colors and it looked insane. He also cut my hair in the middle of her hair taking the color. He cut it exactly the way I wanted and dealt with me thinking different ideas as he was lopping my over grown mane off. I recently was looking for a salon in Jacksonville due to splitting my time between Jacksonville and Gainesville for rotations in school. I found fusion through Groupon and booked online with Vilma. She asked me what I wanted and guided me in the right direction. I embarrassingly haven't gotten my hair highlighted in a really long time and had severe grow out and yellowing. She showed no judgement and was so fast with the foils and left me with a PERFECT icy blonde. It wasn't until after the big reveal that she gently suggested buying a purple shampoo to prevent the yellowing (not even pushing their product, just trying to help!) I went to Katie because she had some Saturday openings and great reviews. She did my hair in impeccable time, it was unbelievable. She did a full foil highlight, Trim, toner and blow dry in just over two hours! Wow! I hate sitting at the hair salon all day and she did great. Not only was she quick, she did a great job. I Was excited to get a Groupon for my first time in and it was easy to get an appointment. I asked for Brandon because he had good reviews and well I just had a gut feeling he'd be good. And I was right! I usually have my own vision and thoughts from pictures but never know the hair lingo so I do my best to explain what Im looking for. But let me start from the beginning...I was a mess, roots out of control and hadn't had a trim in a few months- #mommylife. Im glad he remained real with me after looking at my hair, explained to me what he thought was best and the end result made me want to paint the town red. I could tell Brandon really cared about his job and was willing to help me in my time of need. He remained positive even when I thought I was bringing him a disaster of a hairdo. We laughed, we talked, we shared stores... I really like when my hair stylist can engage, yet keep focused. It was a good balance for both of us. When I bought my groupon I thought that would take care of everything but his tip...but he said since I had a lot of hair and something about my roots Id be charged extra $20. I went because I had a Groupon coupon. The shop itself was ok. The stylist, Megan was not. It was a TERRIBLE experience with her, the worst I've ever had in a salon - so difficult to communicate with her. She refused to trim my hair the way I wanted (as it was currently cut) because she said it wouldn't look good. I don't think she's happy getting Groupon customers. It was so uncomfortable I almost left without anything being done (regardless of spending $45 on Groupon). I did stay, but didn't really get what I wanted. I finally just wanted out and didn't even care that my highlights weren't really the light brown I wanted nor was the style what I wanted. I left her a tip although I should not have, she didn't earn it. It was raining when I left and I just let the rain wash out the style. Poor quality hair ordered from China. The FN Longlocks game- The tape in are put in the hair by hand and not "clamped in" by a tool so they fall out easily. When they are brought back to be reinstalled the customer is charged a - $50 'maintenance fee' . Absolute rip off. Megan is rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful to clients. You have been warned. What an experience, I had beautiful Katie with the tatoos and a little green hair. Don't be fooled I am 62 years old, moved from Minnesota 4 months ago and had the same stylist for 16 years. I got to Florida and tried 2 different stylists; not good at all. Katie is so very knowledgable on providing you with ideas that would match your face shape, etc. My husband couldn't believe how beautiful my hair looked.
