I am reading this purely based on the 10 minutes. I was at the salon. I had posted on Facebook that I needed to get a haircut last minute, and somebody reached out and let me know that that they had availability at the salon at 9 AM on Valentine's Day. I really appreciated them getting me in last minute, however, it was a complete waste of my time. I had posted on Facebook what I want done, my hair is long about midway to my back, and all I was asking for was some more layers while keeping the length of my hair as much as possible. For some reason, the stylist that I met with on Saturday morning, did not think that was possible. She said that I already had that haircut, even though I do not have layers in my hair, at least not the back of my hair. I just have some face framing layers. As far as keeping the length goes, she said that wasn't possible she was going to have to cut off a few inches in order to make it look nice. She said she would do my bangs if I wanted her to, but I at this point was very frustrated and did not want her touching my hair at all. Instead, I went to the salon that I usually go to that had a last minute in availability and got exactly what I wanted done. My stylist was confused as why the other girl did not think that this cut could be achieved. It's not like I was asking for any coloring or anything like that. So I'm only basing this review based on the conversation that was had, not on the actual service. Tiny, tattooed, and with blonde dreads, you know you're in good hands with Amanda. She's very knowledgeable and isn't afraid of thick, curly locks a.k.a. my hair. She understood what I was hoping for while throwing in several suggestions of her own. Since I was new to the long hair game she informed me of proper hair care, styling tips, and the differences in maintenance compared to my shorter styles. Amber at Steele Hair Gallery has restored my faith in finding a stylist that knows a woman's hair is her "crown", and a great day begins and ends with a fabulous cut and style! I walked into a cozy salon, with beautiful plants and a spa-like atmosphere. Amber greeted me with a a happy, warm smile that made me feel like we had been friends for years! I have what I call "guinea pig" hair....cowlicks, curls and not easy to cut correctly. I sat in her chair for a few minutes describing what I was going for, a change from my standard no-fuss pixie, to the "beach wave" bob that seems to look great on anyone. Thanks to Covid, I had been cutting my own hair, but it had grown out way too much for me to continue. Amber whisked me over to the wash station and reassured me as I sat back in her chair saying, "everybody cuts it dry" with some (ok, a lot) of trepidation! Then the magic began! I had finally found a master stylist!!! Ecstatic, I watched as Amber worked her magic. I WILL NOT BE LOOKING FOR A HAIRSTYLIST AGAIN, EVER!!! I usually come home and re-cut my hair, which is code for correcting the mistakes of prior stylists. My hubby was blown away as well when I didn't walk straight to the bathroom and start what used to be a three day "project" to correct the haircut I just got! Unbelievably, Amber had effortlessly given me an incredible cut that checked all the boxes. Easy to style with or without a blow dryer, perfect for my hair type and texture, and it looks absolutely awesome, even with it being in that awkward stage of growing out. I'm adding a review for the numerous times I've been to see Tatiana since Brooke left. Tatiana has been doing my color from a darker purple to the Bayalage color I have now. I feel comfortable every visit that I'm going to love my hair and feel fabulous. They always offer beverage and snacks, and a laid back down to earth feeling I will miss. One time Tatiana basically did a mini photo shoot for me as I needed a head shot for work. The only reason I can't come back is because I'm moving! I don't want to slam this Salon because initially they were very accommodating. My daughter was able to obtain a next day appointment to lift her naturally blonde hair to platinum. Tatiana spend 5-6 hours on this 3 hour procedure. My daughter left the salon with purple hair. Tatiana explained that once she washed her hair, the result would be platinum. It was not. Her hair was actually the exact same color it was before the appointment. They agreed to process her hair again, and again she left with purple hair. It shouldn't be difficult or take more than 3 hours/4 max to transform a natural blonde into platinum. We asked for a refund for the color that she did NOT get, and the owner, Amber argued that we underpaid. Quick DBPR Search revealed Tatiana's license expired 10/31/2020. I would not be arguing over a refund from an unlicensed colorist working out of my salon, but that is just me, and the FDA... read more

The panic is so real when your hair stylist of years suddenly moves out of state! It had been about 9 months since I'd gotten my hair colored simply because I was nervous to try someone new. I finally decided on Amber at Steele Hair Gallery. I decided to do something completely different with my hair which added to the nervousness. I brought some pics and we had a discussion and came up with a plan. Amber wrote up an estimate which I loved and we decided to proceed. The appointment took about 4 hours and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! First of all let me say Amber is clearly extremely knowledgeable and was able to clarify and carry out my vision. I also love that she's very concerned with maintaining the health of your hair. The appointment took longer because a longer processing time was better for my hair. I've been back to see Amber a few times now (with my most recent visit being yesterday for highlights, hair cut, and a scalp treatment) and she consistently has gone above and beyond for what I expect out of my blonding service. Going from black to blonde, I knew that the results I wanted were not achievable in just a few lightening treatments without jeopardizing the health of my hair. However, Amber has managed to get me to the level of blonde I wanted in just a few visits while maintaining the integrity of my hair, and this is why I say she exceeds my expectations. Amber is very knowledgable and well-versed in what she does, and I know she has certain expectations out of her work herself. She is quite intuitive and definitely knows what the customer wants--if she's not satisfied with something, she knows the client won't be satisfied either, so she will keep working until she reaches perfection. I had an appointment with Tatiana this week and I am so pleased with my hair cut, I just can't speak highly enough of her cutting skills. The cut is so precise and I've never had such a precise cut or trim at any other salon. I am African American with 4B/C hair (and you how picky we can be with who cuts/trims our hair). I had lots of single strand knots from wash and goes and needed a trim, so I looked all over Instagram for a stylist with good hair cut pics. Tatiana's pics looked SO good that I decided to just get a full cut. Lol. Then, I checked out the salon's page. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with Amber or Tatiana because their hair cutting skills in the pics pretty much look the same. Tatiana asked and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and then she walked me through her plan of attack step by step. She is not one of those stylists who will cut off all of your hair when you only asked for a trim. She doesn't rush, she's very patient, and she checks with you midway through to make sure you're both on the same page. My hair looks so much more healthy and incredibly evenly layered.
